I recently landed a role as IAM Engineer after desktop support for 3 years in my company and I will tell you be prepared to work very hard but don’t give up
@@SuperAllstar64 I worked help desk for two years at an insurance company and desktop support for three years at my current place then a position for IAM Engineer opened up internally so I applied and got hired.
I just graduated with degree back in december but havent been able to get a internship or job yet. Its refreshing to hear that I have a chance still. Studying for security plus and trying to learn skills are alot to juggle lol. Thanks for the video Ben !
Omg you are speaking facts it’s so hard I’ve been trying for a year now and got an associates degree with security plus and network plus and CySA plus but they want 10 years of experience smh
The cybersecurity job market is extremely tough right now. There isn't a talent shortage even though that's all we hear. Over 4million global vacant jobs is laughable. And yes the job descriptions are trash. The key is networking...that should be your first step. Good insights.
One thing I recommend is do about 2-5 years in either help desk or data center work, then scoot into some sort of administrator role like systems, do another 3-6 years doing that, and then you'll be more prepared for a cyber job or get really lucky.
Nonsense. That sounds like insane procrastination or just advice to gatekeep people from never getting in by following your “recommendation” . I feel bad for people who actually believe what you wrote if they don’t know any better
Doesn't CISSP require 5 years of relevant work experience before you can even take the exam? How does 5+ years of experience equate to entry level? Just goes to show how little these companies actually care about cybersecurity. If they did care, then they would provide training for REAL entry level positions (albeit with attainable requirements like certificates).
It reminds me of college in the sense that all the hard work you do to get your foot in the door is only enough to make it to day 1 of said job. Be sure to be looking ahead and over the horizon on what to do to advance. That said, be open to opportunities that create your own niche and build up a set of skills and roles to separate yourself from the pack.
I have completed the google cybersecurity professional certificate, but my problem is in my weaknesses in an interview with English Languge during the communication. This problem made me stop to going on the interview. So I lost the opportunity to get new job as an a cybersecurity analyst. Could you please help me to get training as an internship at any company to communicate with other in englich and doing tasks for cybersecurity job. Thank you.
Especially recruiting companies like sparks group fucked me up. Well Us up. My case was they posted for a job says entry level It as a refresh technician/ repair technician basically fullfill customers needs for image and clean also testing peripherals but plot twist that that company needed warehouse handlers not entry level It technicians. No wonder why it says no experience required. Rn im honoring that contract to the end but next time they pull this shit im shitting on them.
I feel like all the RUclipsrs say the same thing as you... are you all friends and do you all follow the same script or is this your personal experience or are you a hiring manager speaking from experience? Thank you

Is Darril Gibson get certified get ahead 601 still any good in 2024?
8:53 I think asking for CISSP for an Entry-level position is probably even more laughable than asking for 2-3+ years of experience.
lmao I thought it couldn’t get any worse, but they proved me wrong 😂
CISSP, CCNA and OSCP prereq to get into the field and 3 years of experience

Is that what it has come to?
You will get a job only if you’re strong enough, pure enough, willing enough! It’s all your fault!!!!!
