    I'm a new owner of a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500 6.6L Duramax. It's nice to hear another female voice showing how to do truck maintenance work, your calm voice gives me confidence in building my own skills also a female truck owner. Subbed :)
    When I get some time I'll check out your other videos on truck maintenance, your horse, and the wild animals. What kind of horse is Banner? I watched your pulling video, where he gets a bit frisky - loved that part showing how happy he was, but also glad you had a good base under your feet. Skimming through your videos is making me homesick, I grew up in Vermont and used to drive my white pony pulling a cute carriage through our village. And then I had a white Arabian, he was super super gentle, not fancy. We lived along a small river, across the river were dairy cows, and every Spring thaw we'd watch the red fox bring her kits to play on the top of the warm rocks on the rock wall across the river. So many beautiful memories. You are fortunate to live in so much nature to breathe in deeply and have some space around you. I've never hunted, not sure if I could do the kill, but am a fan of wild game, especially venison. Don't tell my suburban backyard cottontails that rabbit stew is delicious! ;)
    Best wishes in your RUclips channel!

      Thank you for your comment! Congratulations on your new truck!
      I'm open to suggestions on videos if you can think of something. I hope my videos help.
      Banner was a Shetland pony mix. Unfortunately he had to be put down last year, but we had a good 18 years together. He didn't have any quit in him, he was a real special pony.
      Vermont is beautiful, it sounds like you had a lot of fun! I'm definitely lucky to live where I am. Lots of nature!
      I hope you enjoy my channel, glad to have another subscriber! And thank you again for your comment!

      @@AshleysOutdoorAdventures I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your pony. That is the worst news, but it's great that you had so many good years with him. 18 years is exceptional! Mine was also a Shetland.
      Regarding video ideas, I think your teaching us how you work on your truck, and showing us that we women can do it all is a great thing! Leading by example is what's interesting in your videos, and your nature videos are very tranquil.
      You're quite a horseman, maybe show more of those skills or the daily barn work for horses? Many people daydream about getting a horse, but have no idea what daily life with one is like, how they have to be fed on time & why, getting shoed, mucking stalls and putting down new bedding, washing and brushing them, those little combs for the fly eggs on the lower legs, deworming, there are so many things horses need. Food variety too, if you make any sort of winter mash? I am assuming you have another horse/pony? If not, I'm sorry for mentioning any of this.

      @@user-jy1md7vk1w Thanks for your reply! I appreciate your thoughts.
      I don't think there is much I have left to video for working on my truck. Maybe completely draining the transmission and dropping the pan and all that. But I'm not going to do that for a while. I'll definitely video anything I do. I have some pine trees that I'm going to pull out with the truck and block and split for camp wood, maybe I'll video that.
      That's a good idea for more horse videos! Thank you! Right now I am playing with one of my Mom's ponies. I'm excited to get another horse in the future. Thank you for enjoying my videos and commenting. (:

    Thank you very much for this video! I'm in the process of cleaning mine. I never new I was suppose to do this and my deisel mileage has gotten very poor around 10 miles to the gallon. My sensor is clogged with sut. I'm fixing to go get sum cleaner and try this method out fingers crossed 🤞! I'm also at around 111000 miles.

      Hope it helps! A lot of people say it doesn't do a lot. But I feel like as long as you don't break anything it can't hurt either. It seems like it would read pressure a lot better not covered in soot. I know the biggest thing that kills my fuel mileage is if I don't keep my fuel filter clean. In the winter I change it every oil change, in the summer I change it every other oil change. Unfortunately the diesel fuel here is inconsistent. Good luck!

    Nice job, very helpful. Thanks, please keep up the good work - the dealer charges a fortune for this stuff.

    Need to get the S&B relocating kit for your t map sensor..it get the sensor out of the flow of the soot. And if you want your trans to shift better and last longer,get a EPC fooler and install it in the valve body of the trans. Night and day difference,and it shifts how it should.

      I've thought about getting the relocating kit for the MAP sensor. I haven't got it yet. I've heard good things about the transmission cooler things. My transmission runs pretty cold as it is so I'm not sure I want to mess with it.

      I'll probably patch it up until there's nothing left to work with. Someone asked me earlier today if i were going to buy another truck what would i buy and they laughed when i told them another just like mine with lower miles. How many miles do you have on yours?

      @AshleysOutdoorAdventures  2 года назад +1

      @@CFarmer nice! I'm going to try to do the same thing. I don't have the experience that you have with fixing yours, but I'll fix as much as I can. I have 104,000 miles on mine, no issues, but she's still a baby.

      @@CFarmer she seems to be a good one. 🤞 Yes, I love the pedal monster! I've been running it on the lowest level lately which basically just takes the lag away. Hoping the fuel prices drop some more, it's so much fun to drive on the higher levels.

    Some say you should disconnect the battery before the MAP sensor cleaning because you can get a code if you don't... Some say it doesn't matter🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @AshleysOutdoorAdventures
      @AshleysOutdoorAdventures  2 года назад

      I think I've cleaned my MAP sensor four or five times. One time it did throw a code, I don't remember what it said but I know I had to do with the MAP sensor. I just left the code on and within a mile or two it went off by itself. So far I don't think I've done any harm by leaving the batteries connected. But I definitely have heard that the batteries should be disconnected. I'm just lazy. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • @Chris-gc3cm
      @Chris-gc3cm Год назад

      Let the truck go to "sleep" prior to disconnecting the cable and you'll be good. Should be around 10 minutes I think.

  • @darylsparks-sparksautomoti6066

    should've just banked that air filter for later & simply cleaned out the leaves & nuts from the air box.. I think there's enough slack, you could've left the mass air flow sensor connected & not cut off all 27 of those zip strips..
    pro tip: the less you take apart, the less parts you might break
