Finally found an effective and cheap solution! Just cut the top rim of a Styrofoam cup and attach it with a string. Works like a charm!

To be fair I have never been able to make the feeding ring work for my setup.

I have the solution to it being too far from the side of the tank.
Simply go to the corner of the tank, and instead of putting the magnet (and ring) below the feeder, put the magnet attachment on the right or left side of the tank, and settle the ring against the front or back panel of the tank. As the ring rises or falls with the water, it will still be snuggly against the tank wall.
    Put it in the corner.
No need to take it apart.

      Thanks for your comment
Yes I guess that’s a good solution only thing about that for me personally is I don’t like anything stuck on the side glass of me tank and either the magnet or the feeder mount would need to be on that side. But that’s is a good solution if you’re not worried about that sort of thing

I figured out the solution for mine which uses a suction cup. I found that I could adjust the angle so that the ring sits where the feeding door is. Now the ring is in reach when I feed my water babies!

So essentially this will not work at all for granules. Just flakes. Wish they had something for granules. Because flakes are too big for my fish. The granules sink straight to the bottom before they eat it.

JL StudioPro it’s only affective for floating food I crush the flakes into smaller bits so they are a more appropriate size for my fish

If you haven`t got many fish, you could try hand feeding them so the food doesn`t sink to the bottom and every fish in your tank gets a fair share. Plus it saves on tank pollution... I put the food between my thumb and finger and below the surface so the fish don`t gulp any air... Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before feeding...
