    Can't wait. I'm slapping a tarp and some food on my T7 this afternoon to go across Canada. I just got word that my dad passed away yesterday, so I have 4 days to go 4500km to say goodbye to the old fella. All pavement, boring as hell but not the first time I've done it. Hotels and airplanes not an option this time so... soldier on. 👍

I love the outdoors and appreciate all of God’s gifts; the mountains, earth, animals…and riding motorcycles gives me the ability to enjoy more of those things than I ever could do on foot. Adventure, and sucking the marrow out of life is what it’s all about! ✌️🙏

    I just find it amazing how you can carelessly ride without crashbars and luggage racks to protect the exhaust, personally i just can’t afford to lay ‘er down but i’d love to have less weight on her. Must be the perks of years of experience in the saddle and sponsors. Hope one day i’ll be half as good as you are. I missed the whole summer because of a shattered collar bone, random guy didn’t give me right of way. I’m sad about my first bike, she’s a bit crooked now, but still going (cause of the crashbars and racks) But thanks to insurance i’m close to buying my dream bike. Can’t wait to rewatch all your T7 videos when that happens. Hands down the best adventure channel on RUclips and the reason why i picked up motorcycling in the first place!

    Before you go too far into the bush pull the paper standard air filter and bin it, they dont stop really fine dust, teneres come with a foam filter that is much better. Had far too many bikes come into alice still with the paper filter in and always have dust past the filter, can recommend using pre filter aswell they make a mess but they help.

    I envy you, colleague! Here in Hungary, we push it very poorly. I am an agricultural machine mechanic and agricultural horticultural engineer, I work on tractors and parks at the university here. I plow, sow, plant, remove bushes and trees. The salary here is so miserably small that my T7 engine, bought new in 2022, has only driven 2,900 km so far. I just couldn't get enough gas in it. It got moldy. Yes. I was also able to buy the motorcycle because our mother died and left me a small sum for a motorcycle. Yes. Now I'm going to try the neighboring country, Austria, where I'm going to take on a job as a water-gas heating engineer. If I'm lucky, I'll buy a big piece of land myself, farm it and ride an off-road motorcycle. Our daughter is now 22 years old, she also started riding off-road motorcycles two years ago, but she outgrew her Chinese motorcycle and sold it, but she can't buy another one because she doesn't have a job. Well, congratulations on your channel. I hope that in a year we will already be living and working in Austria and will have a swimming pool and an off-road motorcycle. I think you're a lucky guy. Congratulations! Have a nice day!

    Well, yamaha engineers giving this bike stronger chain did it not without reason. From the technical book: "Bikes with bigger squat experience Increased Load on the Chain:
    As the rear suspension compresses during acceleration, more force is transmitted through the chain to the rear wheel. This increased load can place more stress on the chain, particularly if the bike has high torque or is ridden aggressively. Torque Transfer: Bikes that squat more tend to transfer a significant amount of torque through the chain, especially during hard acceleration. A stronger chain is better equipped to handle these forces without stretching, snapping, or wearing out prematurely. Chain Wear and Tear: With more squat, the chain may experience additional wear due to the constant changes in tension as the suspension compresses and rebounds. A stronger, higher-quality chain can better resist this wear, maintaining performance and safety.
    Chain Length Variations: Squatting can cause slight variations in chain length as the distance between the front and rear sprockets changes during suspension movement. A stronger chain with better elasticity and tensile strength can accommodate these variations more effectively without compromising its integrity." To sum up, yamaha exactly knew why they put stronger chain on T7. I'm not going to change it, especially the weigh is down low.

    • @NK-dl2nc
      @NK-dl2nc Месяц назад

      All good points but 520 and 525 have the same pitch and pin size generally so strength isn't an issue. A 525 with it wider roller should experience less wear over time on both chain and sprockets. The 520 conversion is for performance not longevity. I wouldn't expect to get 20k out of it like a 525.

    • @MickH60
      @MickH60 Месяц назад

      You have seen the strength of the 520 chains ? They are as strong as any other.... I've done 630 to 520 and 530 to 520 conversions and the 520's i'm using are way stronger than the chains I replaced, and on bikes with way more HP.........

    • @NK-dl2nc
      @NK-dl2nc Месяц назад +1

      The other issue is unsprung weight. I use mitas tyres and when I first put them on my WR I really noticed the extra unsprung weight. You take pounds off and you put them on. It's all about balance and performance. Many wouldn't notice or be bothered and that's fine. Some people like to get things how they like it.

    • @jethrowingnut13
      @jethrowingnut13 Месяц назад

      Agree 100%, just a waste of money and potentially reliability, just leave the chain and sprockets stock. I Virtually never have to adjust the chain on my T7 over 15k kms so far.

    Adam, Love your take on what an adventure bike should be. Definitely not everyone's idea and I'm sure some just hate you for being so frank, especially about luggage 😂
    My 890r has been slowly stripped back over the past two years, sat at 174kg on the scales last week (all fluids no fuel)
    Luggage is low and forwards and I've got that down to 13kg.
    187kg with luggage ready for fuel, 9kg under the dry weight of a stocker 😎 super light with proper tyres on and heavily modded suspension, going back to ride a stocker they feel like one of the big Rihno 1250's 😮
    Its "my" 890 now, no need for the lastest offerings from the factory just to have to do it all again.
    Keep the vids coming 🤙

      Perfect set up mate, most will never understand. The Motonomad 500EXCs I set up were the same concept but lighter again ... you could ride them at Rally pace all day, then set up camp and be comfortable, cook etc.

      @adamhrachowina9119 Месяц назад

      @@MotologyFilmsyour early vids on the 500 almost had me back into a big single after some time away from dirt bikes, awesome stuff mate.
      I raced 125 from 15 into my 20's, MX/enduro - love em, pinned, heavy clutch work and keep em signing. Cant beat hunting down a big bike when you have superior corner speed 😎. I'd take one of the new 150's and happily throw some bags on and go off on that.
      Later I went with the newage and the first thumper YZ's with the Genesis heads, for the day they were super smooth (not like the big Husky and the Rotax lumps).
      It took some time, but big parallel twin motor has really grown on me and at the current weight personally for me it's ended up a balance between a super light 500. No getting away from the fact the motors are wide, but it is what it is.
      Depending on what gearing I stick on it, it has the legs to be stupid quick on the black stuff or drop it - (2 down, 3 up) and ride it like a five speed with a crawler first gear. With that gearing it truly does feel.like big enduro bike, but maxes out short of a Ton on the black stuff

    Get it sorted Adam otherwise he's going to regret it. Remember the golden rule, make sure everything is right before setting off.
    Good luck, can't wait for this one.

      Made some quick adjustments to preload n clickers and she's pretty solid now. Rod will dial in the rest when he's on it ...

    Good flik. Learning the weaknesses. Pretty damn heavy machine to begin with. Like 20 or more KG's added to it and more with the metal protection. Someday one may be sold in the USA but I not counting on it. Like to have the lower tank setup. Too expensive to do the Dakar type factory parts. All good. Safe travels Interesting to follow this ride. Rodney knows his shit

    I don’t know how Honda has skipped on giving you a small tank crf1100 to transform it to an off-road beast, and lets you roll on a T7, even after all the warhorse saga, would be epic 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Cool bike Adam. I did similar mods to my trusty KLR and what a difference. Now I just need to find an extra 40 to 50 horsepower for the old donkey....haha
    Looking forward to watching you journey.

    Adam I don't know where you are rn but I think I may have passed you on the central coast NSW near the entrance about an hour ago, whoever it was was standing up riding an immaculate Africa twin war horse exactly the same as yours, traffic was slow and by the time I found a place that do a u turn they were nowhere the be seen, I checked as far as the next servo in hopes I'd find the rider but unfortunately nothing, my name is don I was riding a black TTR 250 and if you are around this area I'd like to catch up and maybe have a little ride around the mountains here and check out your pride and joy, no dramas if you can't I'm sure we'll cross paths down the track somewhere, stay safe out there mate
