Inglorious doing a version of "Bring Me to Life." The band has a male singer and I'd like to see what you think of their version. I've watched your video on the original, so I'd like to see what you think of Inglorious's version.
I think that Violet is posturing in the sense of singing the way she thinks Metal etc. fans want to hear, emphasizing attitude over skill. I have the feeling that she can sing differently and probably well in a broader range of styles. I do agree with you that pairing her with Malinda worked out very well., The video was fine and your reaction/analysis good, Editing was clever and nice. 🎸
Have you listened to Dan Vasc? Omg he has a really good voice. Can you do a reaction video on him please? 😍😍 I think you’ll love it 😊 Check out Kiss from a rose…..also staring Violet. They sound amazing together Edit: Dan Vasc also has his version of I see fire on RUclips as well. ☺️ he also does a really good Witcher cover.
This is sorta the problem with some of the collabs with Violet, because of her range she often gets shoehorned into these ridiculously low alto parts that obviously work amazingly for choruses with harmonies but then her solo parts sort of suffer for it when she stays in the same range, that being said I think you were a bit harsh on her runs, they were fine. You should definitely check out some of solo stuff like others have said "Like a Stone" is fire and so is "Wicked Game".
You should check out Violet singing Hallelujah which has been covered a million times. She asked her fans to send in themselves singing the chorus at the end.
I'd love to see you react to Violet's cover of either "Glory Box" by Portishead or "Like a Stone" by Audioslave. Malinda's song about pun's is also worth checking out, if only for the comedic value. :)
Malinda does a lot of awesome stuff. Her Google Translate Sings are a lot of fun, but I've really been loving that she's been breaking from just the Translate Sings. She did an awesome collaboration on a sea shanty with several other singers, including one of my current favorite singers, Colm McGuiness. You really need to listen to something by him. I love his cover of Oró Sé do Bheatha 'Bhaile. He does a lot of layered songs, where he sings several parts, and he's also taken to doing covers with instrumental accompaniment that he plays, himself. He also does songs in other languages, like My Mother Told Me in Old Norse, and Misty Mountains in Dwarven XD Violet Orlandi has done some good work with Halocene. Not saying this is her strongest piece by any means, but she's in some really great songs.
8:35 i wanted them both to hit SKY and belt the hell out of it and hold it longer, i was a little disappointed lol I worked at a movie theatre when Desolation of Smaug came out and I would hear this song multiple times a day and it was one I didn't get sick of.
English is not Violets 1st language. Sometimes that Brazilian accent is heard when she sings. She does sing a certain way, though. So what you notice may be a bit of both.
I think this song gives Violet a little bit of a bad rep. It's not bad by any means just not really her. She cover "kiss from a rose" with Dan Vasc and it is awesome. Also, maybe look at his stuff too it's amazing.
Maggie, I love Violet Orlandi's work, but your analysis explains for me exactly what I (as a non-vocalist) find "tight" about her voice. This is a great collab with Malinda (whom I also love), but I always have the feeling that Violet is somehow *choosing* a 'deep' resonance that isn't naturally there. Does that sound right?
at first i thought that was Cruella Deville ......Leonard Cohen trans-ed a Delorcha poem for a song and it had a line "a tree where the doves go to die" i went looking for books of trans and used that line to eval.....found one "tree full of dead birds" i gave up
I think that’s the most range I’ve ever seen Malinda use. Beautiful. I agree that it was a little too sweet, maybe if she added some chest voice to that head voice it could’ve added a bit more heft and grit. I do think if she were singing alone she wouldn’t be singing that high to begin with, so I’m not sure I agreed that she would’ve needed the other girl.
Not everyone sings pretty. You probably wouldn't like Smashing Pumpkins but Billy Corgan has made a nearly 40 year carreer out of being imperfect and they are still my favorite band :)
I feel like you've managed to react to two or three of Violet's pieces that really don't show her in a great light. Please check out something like "Take Me To Church" or "Like a Stone" if you want to know what peak Violet sounds like.
Their pairing was much more successful in 'May It Be'. This track never quite sat right with me, Malinda's intro and her movements in the video suggests the music was meant to be heavier. It's definitely not Violet's best performance, hearing her do Hellfire or Like A Stone is a very different experience.
this vocal combo shouldnt have happened. it sounds like a lot f the weird mixed voiced chorus songs that happened in the 90s. Also, where were the drums and guitar or bass?

Violet Orlandi did an amazing cover of Roxette’s “Listen to your heart” with Leo Moracchioli…
Oh I’ve been subscribed to Malinda for years, thank you for discovering her and sharing her with your audience.
Thank you for your lovely comment. 🤗💖 Would love to see you on Patreon www.patreon.com/MaggieRenee?
This is an amazing collaboration. Both Malinda and Violet are top tier vocalists.
Malinda did a cover of Hoist the Colors with Bobby Bass, Lauren Paley, and Colm McGuinness that is pretty good.
I think that Violet is posturing in the sense of singing the way she thinks Metal etc. fans want to hear, emphasizing attitude over skill. Violet was perfect!
Have to admit I could see you making classic songs into metal versions you have an energy that just can't be described other than holy shnikey
Never heard Malinda before today. Their voices complimented each other very well. Love your reactions and analysis as always. Keep them coming.
Thank you for your lovely comment! 😊💖 Hope to see you TONIGHT: ruclips.net/video/Bzan_Nmd1wQ/видео.html
💘 Violet and the ENTIRE "Halocene Cinematic Universe" 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 😎🥰🥰
YASSS, we need more from the HCU
@@CipryFTW Their cover of "We Will Rock You!" Is AWESOME!!!! 💘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘😊

I really like this song. And this version was really good IMO. I liked the blend of their voices. Great job maggie!
Violet when she is singing alone she can sing the high parts and the lows u should check her cover of wicked game
Would love to see you react to Violet and Leo covering “Listen to your heart.” Mic emoji drop : )
First time I heard Malinda was her duet covers of Phantom with Jonathan Young. It is really great and the metal version really amps up the emotions!

Both were great, they did a perfect job on this song, I loved your reaction, always learning more and more from you!! Thank you, Maggie!!! 🎤🎤

I agree that they sound better together. I would love to see them perform together live.

Violet also has a version of 'toss a coin to you witcher' if you still want that stuck in your head.
I love them both. Violet has a bunch of amazing covers with the band Halocene
You need to react to Halocene ft Violet Orlandi and Lauren Babic covering Chop Suey from System of a Down, it’s straight fire
This!
Love them both.
You rock! Can't wait to see you tonight! 🤗💖
Or try the Feuerschwanz cover? That's been my favorite version by far. I did love Malinda in this though, going to have to go check out more of her.
Malinda is using a dark and husky tone here, I’m used to the clean and light side of her voice. This is very interesting.
8:35 i wanted them both to hit SKY and belt the hell out of it and hold it longer, i was a little disappointed lol

Ok wow I completely forgot I requested this one. How did that happen? It is a great song and performance.🎤
Howdy ma'am really digging these videos you are an incredible talent that without a doubt will go far

She is an alto singer she is not holding it girl she have a very deep voice
PLEASE listen to Malinda and Violet's cover of "May It Be". A beautiful song all its own but they add so much to it as duet.

Thank you for your lovely comment! I am looking forward to singing for you tomorrow on the "Stump Maggie" Live stream! 🥰💖🌹 Will you be there?
1 and they are both great. I love Vilot but I can see why you are call her a little restricted. They also did the song May it be which is very good

Violet sounds amazing, let’s remember English isn’t her first language,so basically your judging her on her own natural voice.

I hope you'll consider reacting to the Young/McGuinness/Heafy version at some point
You should react to violet orlandi beggin cover
Have a listen to Malinda singing Danny Boy I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Thank you for your comment. Did you like my new reaction video to Dio I just posted?
Watch violit cover amy lee
I would like to mention that this cover gets no where near metal. It barely hits rock
I dont want to be that guy, but how is this metal?
this vocal combo shouldnt have happened. it sounds like a lot f the weird mixed voiced chorus songs that happened in the 90s. Also, where were the drums and guitar or bass?
👎 I was waiting for them to go hard and rock it.. nope
