      I don't have any critters that I will be taking with me, but if I did, I'd sure get Waggle! What a great invention.
      It doesn't matter what it looks like as long as it works! For future, wetting your finger to smooth out the caulk makes the end results look nicer, but it is certainly not necessary. You gave a very good lesson.
      All my shirts came in, I love them all! Only one ran small so I will use it for decoration in my future home on wheels.
      Thank you so much for your videos, you help make dreams come true for those of us who have been too afraid to go it alone.

    If you want to save what is left in the caulking tube, Stumpy Nubs just had a video about this today. Use the finger from a nitrile glove and put over the tip and squeeze some of the caulk in. The caulk will cure in the finger tip and protect the contents of the tube.

    One of the many things I like about your channel is that you break jobs down to the simplest steps and explain the whys and wherefores of each step. That can be applied to any job and encourages people to try things. You also don't fuss about perfection; making it clear that when it's important to be perfect, it's worth the effort but that cosmetics are not the be all and end all. I hope that makes sense. IE get the caulk in deeply but it doesn't have to look like an episode of hgtv that looks pretty even if it won't last. Happy Travels. I hope your Mom is doing ok.

    That window was never sealed fright from the start. What you scraped off is crusty butyl tape that oozed out and dried. When windows are installed butyl tape is applied under the seal of the window frame and body and silicone over the top of that, to keep it from drying out.

    After my maiden voyage, in my new to me rig,I know that I need panels on top to charge my house battery while driving. So just just ordered my 200 watt solar kit along with butyl tape and self leveling sealant. I'll be installing it myself so wish me luck😊

    Good on you. I so easily ignore maintenance. Dicor is our friend.

  • @70ixlr86
    @70ixlr86 5 месяцев назад

    Butyl under the window flange experiences very little exposure to the elements. The butyl on the outside Collects dirt and is effected by the elements. Hard plastic putty knifes, sharpened with a metal file, every time its needed, avoids nicking any surface while removing the bulk of Dicor or butyl that has pushed out from under the window flange. Mineral Spirits does a fine job of removing both butyl and dicor sealant. Taping off the body of the rv, about a 1/4 inch from flange and pulling tape before new sealant skins works well for us.

It may take me some practice to use it and get an angle 😂 but it’s pretty cool.
