  • We are joined by Jeffrey Mishlove at his home in New Mexico. Jeffrey was the first and still only Parapsychologist who was conferred a PhD (in 1980) in that field of study. He grew up in a religious family - and a family unbeknownst to young Jeffrey at the time - that was also steeped in mystical tradition. We discuss his path to his calling that was kickstarted by a couple of transcendental dreams. He was a man whose interests were transformed from studying the negative forms of human deviance (criminality) to the positive forms of human deviance. We learn about the story of his mentor Arthur M. Young, the inventor of the helicopter and cosmologist and astrologer. We discuss skeptics vs scoffers, ESP, the perpetual game of hide and seek, cosmic choices after death, the artistic endeavour and the importance of investigating areas of high strangeness. The universe reaches out when you are striving to be the best person you can be.
If you enjoyed this one, you may appreciate these conversations with other parapsychologists: Loyd Auerbach (ep. 167) Dianne Hennacy (ep.113), Sharon Rawlette (ep.99)

Jeffrey is amazing as usual, but what stands out in this interview are the "hard" questions the interviewer asks and how effortlessly Jeffrey can give an answer, because he embodies it.

The “horse laugh”, they don’t dismiss apriori, they “cancel” a possible reality because, if they admitted it, it would be too scary to them. One of the ego’s defense strategies.

Luciano, thank you for these incredible conversations. Jeffrey has helped me so much in finding pathways for me to integrate my experiences in a positive manner. If you are taking requests for future guests, Paco Calvo studying plant intelligence, Robin Wall Kimmerer a professor and botanist speaking for indigenous wisdom and the teachings of plants, and John Priestland chairman of uNHIdden which seeks to incorporate an understanding and acceptance mental health perspective to the UAP conversation which undoubtedly causes many folks anxiety. Thanks again keep on going!

Glad to listen to others share their paranormal experiences.
As far back as when I was a toddler I've been aware of 'others' as well as had telepathic communications. Been shown events to come moments to decades before they were to happen as well as aware of those who've left their earthly bodies. There's other dimensional beings too.
Being leery of ridicule when young I kept to myself, I'm now 78 & of latter yrs sharing as I don't care what others think.....time is getting too short.
We are all going to learn for ourselves sooner than later. From visions, telepathic messages, dreams, I've been learning what is yet to come, as with many other people on earth, & we're being prepared for to accept the future.
I've only met benevolent beings, tho the universe is immense we still are 'connected' to everything, ie each other. It is a dire necessity that we learn compassion for each other.

I've been watching Thinking Allowed for years, particularly in it's second life on the internet/RUclips. I did catch it occasionally on PBS as a kid (along with the Day the Universe Changed, and later, Connections. I was a weird kid). I'm always so surprised by how much Jeffrey Mishlove smiles, laughs and is relaxed. On the the original series, he always seemed really stiff and guarded. Not anymore! Does his mystical dream experience have something to do with this change? I hope he'll write a book about High Strangeness. It's a favorite topic of mine, as my life ahs had more than its fair share of it, since I was a little kid.

Dr. Richard Feynman, the renowned physicist, when he was writing the Practical Man' Guide to Quantum Mechanics, would be known to visit Miss Daisy's Red Light B&B there at the outskirts of Cambridge. I think there was a Helicopter Pad for quicker travel times. Some beer 🍺 drinking was a common conventional practice.

I believe it's important to have an open mind ("not too much, so our brains don't fall out" - as someone said) to at least consider the possibility of the phenomena per se. If we just dismiss anything that can't be put in the little boxes of our current knowledge, we hinder our further development. If someone says "I saw this and that", it helps no one to laugh about it. If that person really saw something different, unknown, it's worth to investigate. If they are trying to mystify, they'll be reprimanded (and put in a very nasty box). If they're delusional, they'll be helped and maybe early diagnosed. But if there's something really out of our current scientific knowledge, a new field will be opened and science as a whole will be benefited. IMHO of course.

Your channel intrigues me. Parapyschology definitely opens up the Carl Jung/Eastern mystical v Western Capitalism in a Freudian kind of way. Stream of Consiousness does indeed resonate with a Don Juan /Carlos Casteneda with A separate reality and a Yakai Way of Knowing. The whole subjective/objective question does take on a lucid dream state of mind.

I saw this bumber sticker on numerous V.W. Vanagons and Subaru's in Boulder Colorado in 1980. We had tons of rock climbing gear and toys in our vehicles. So yeah I remember he who...with the most toys...wishes the Santa Cruz Mountain Bike in the carbon fiber titanium 29'r 20 lb dual shock, hydraulic brakes in brilliant 🍊 orange.

Dr. Donald Hoffman Professor of NEUROSCIENCE & mathematics and physics at UC Berkley, has an interesting hypothesis that consciousness exists universally without the notion of time and space being particularly relevant. I don't know if he is Einstein Brillant or doesn't follow world geo-politics, or he is bat shirt crazy. Lol😊🎉😂
