For years I’ve used the same Blazer 2” vane on all target AND hunting shafts. A tuned bow with the correct arrow doesn’t require a special dimensioned vane. Too much sales pitch hype put out by vane companies. In multiple well done videos and sound tests there’s very little difference in point of impact. And they ALL make about the same amount of flight noise in several videos.
I don't expect a reply, since there are none here. Sounds like vein height and lengths are a person's preference rather than scientific. I would think factors such as speed, distance, weather, wind and target type influence the vein choice.
Exactly! A hunter setup is tpically different than a target archers - mainly because hunting is often in less predictable weather. The typical blazers do a good job of guiding the arrow while not being overly influenced by wind.
never use 1.85" vanes before, i had bought aae hybrid vane 1.85" for .166 shaft..but i not install yet..can 1.85" size suitable for .166 shaft, 100 grain point..can it fly well? My DL 28.6".. Before that, i use 2" vanes, from, nitro pine ridge, AAe max n easton,..i want some explanation..
As a lefty with a bow cut past center shooting off shelf, should I go for 4" shield cut feathers. And should I glue fletchings so it spins left or right?
@50lb and a proper tune, I'd use 4 micro vanes or 3 blazers. Helical is nice for hunting, but honestly not necessary. Just tune the bow well and pick up some Magnus Broadheads, and thank me later 😉
Simple and straight to the point... Thank you for the video

Thanks, helped alot.
Thank you so much! 👍

Instead of vanes, try shooting a FOB from Starrflight. It's a 1 inch diameter airfoil that guides the arrow beautifully.
Solid

No
How much spin do you recommend for a 50 pound bow with a fixed flat broadhead for hunting feral pigs. DirtNap DRT broadheads.

Bowfishing is hunting right?

That was just about opposite of what everybody else says....
There is no other option than fobs
Is he old enough to drive
Use a FOB (fletching only better). Superior to plastic feathers.
Is larping like hunting :D
I got foam blunds so the head is big in arrows...
This part is the fun part. Dont ask try them all. Get a bitzenburger an go to town lol
