    Crinacle and rtings did extensive research on this and concluded it doesn't exist. It all depends on our ears, listening to an iem for extensive period of time makes our ears to get used to that particular tuning and thus the sound gets more natural, which is absolutely not burn in or the driver opening up.

    • @headphone_zone
      @headphone_zone  Год назад +41

      Hey there, while it's true that personal perception and adaptation play a role in our listening experience, the concept of burn-in or driver opening up is still a topic of discussion among audio enthusiasts. Crinacle and Rtings have provided valuable insights based on their research, highlighting the influence of ear adaptation. However, some users claim to notice subtle changes in sound characteristics over time. Ultimately, it's up to individual interpretation and preference. So, whether you believe in burn-in or not, the most important aspect is to enjoy the music and find the best sound that suits your taste.

      The changes are very subtle and mild ... You need to listen carefully.
      Some earphones straight out of the box have very harsh trebles but after a 48H (Bare minimum) of burning in. You find a good difference.

    I bought my 1st pair of headphones recently and saw this Smart Burn-in function when I started to play around with the App, but then forgot about it. Now, a month later, I decided to do it: I started the Smart Burn-in but it says that it will take 12hrs to complete phase 1! So it seems I'll have to do several sessions of 12hrs each! That's just crazy!!!

      Burn-in for IEMs is done when they're new. After a year of use, they should be settled into their sound signature. However, if you feel like they've changed or degraded over time, you can try a short burn-in period by listening to them continuously for a few hours. But typically, it's not necessary after extended use.

      @@miroslavpaulovic17 waiting for headphones to burn in is a myth in my experience. I remember buying a Fedilo X2 after owning Audio Technicas M50. When I listend to it the first time and the first few weeks I was underwhelmed by the prominent but very loose and floppy bass, I didn't like it. weeks later (2 months to be exact) I was falling in love with it and I believed it all had to do with headphones burn in, I was a believer, of course burn in had to be real or why has the sound become so so much better. In fact,I loved these headphones enough that I bought another pair 4 months later. When they arrived, I was ready to have them play music for hundreds of hours, but to my surprise they both sounded 99% the same. Actually, the newer one sounded 1% better cuz of the healthy pads. That experience repeated itself with the sennheiser ie300, one year later after purchasing one and loving very very much, I ordered another, and this time the newer one sounded 100% like the one year old Sennheiser. Burn in happens in the brain, its called getting used to something. I learned from this that, sure, if you buy a headphones and you dont like it in the beginning, you might get used to it and love it later (fidelio x2), but the sennheiser taught me I can love a headphones from the first minute i listen to it and keep loving it, and thats a far better experience.

      Eh lazy bs.
      The burden of proof lies with the owner of the claim. When snake oil sellers claim burn in is real do they give any measurable proof or evidence that can be repeated?
      No
      Whereas a lot of journalism publications have time and again wasted their resources in proving that "burn in" doesn't exist. There is no graph that shows change in frequency response or phase response of different headphones.
      Reviewers like Rtings dot come have done similar tests on 4 driver types and shown that the "burn in" miracle doesn't happen.
      Some psychologists have reasoned that it might be people getting used to the audio device.
      I'm not as polite, I call it bs. Have HPZ or other major "burn-in" believers ever come out with any measurable results? Nope nada never.
