    The saw thing kills me sometimes but they aren’t allowed on public land in Louisiana, I won’t even have one in my truck when I’m hunting. But I could’ve used one a couple times.

      Yep same in some of the places I hunt. I still always carry a saw. Even if can't use it for live trees it's a vital survival tool and very important tool when you vehicle is stuck. And you can cut dead wood just not live wood. So plenty of uses and not breaking the law

    Looks like you got the 2018 upgrade model which is right after the Tripod S. Priced even better at $13.98.

    I'm not a bow hunter but I understand the challenge bow hunting offers . I love firearms but shooting deer from a box blind has gotten somewhat dull. Might go with iron sight 16 inch barrel 44 mag Marlin lever action hunting from a tree stand.

      Track em if you haven't yet. I was able to catch up once. Biggest deer I've harvested.

    Very good overview of a gear list! I do like the Swarovski Binos. I lost my Leupolds last season and got the Nikons to replace them. Both lost and replacement were in the $500-600 range. I am always debating bringing the Binos along the hunt because of the weight and space they take. I like having them for the ability to see off a distance but I can't really say I've gotten a deer with the help of Binos. I have gotten 10x42 both times. Is there an advantage to an 8x42 or 8x30?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  5 лет назад +1

      The advantage to the 8 power over the 10 is the wider field of view and the better light gathering for low light. Plus the 8 power is easier to hold steady with one hand than the 10s. Dont get me wrong I love 10x42 and uses those for all my spot and stalk hunts. So you have great binos. But for tree stand hunting I like the 7 or 8 power better. But if all you have is 10s they work perfect as well.

    Camera tripod is a must have?

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  5 лет назад

      For me it is. I hunt alone and deep in where I have to bone the deer out in the field and pack them out. That means if I want any pics I have to do them myself. Hence the tripod.

      @SamkoTradBow  5 лет назад +1

      Yes. It come with an amazing thermal modeled sheath. The izula sheath is so good it's the only knife I own that I didnt not make a new kydex sheath for.

    Hah I finally have one I get to disagree with you on! Maven is the best value in optics.

      Mavens are excellent! I reviewed a a pair a few years ago. They were veery good especially for the money!

    This guy is rocking like $1500 - $2000 + if you add up bows, arrows and gear everytime he goes hunting. Never realized Jason was so bourgeois.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  5 лет назад +1

      we dont play around here..lol actually probably more 1200 for binos, 1k for bow, 400 for sticks and stand, 300 for pack, etc. This is the big leagues...lol

    You are definitely the gadget guy. Interesting stuff though. I do kind of like the arrow picker upper. What's the cost on that little gem?

      @SamkoTradBow  5 лет назад +1

      Only a few dollars for the mini grappling hook. I did a video on it 2 weeks ago that shows the details on it.

    Meopta should not be overlooked for optics that are cheaper than the quality they offer. Most agree Euro glass > Chinese!

      In the description of this video there are links to all the stuff I talked about. One says mini grappling hook. Click that link and it will take you right to the one I bought with all the details.

    I'd prolly never archery humt.from a tree stand with binoculars...I have no need for it...if a dear is so far away I cant see him without binos I cant shoot him anyway...so need to carry the extra weight.....then again I used the treestnad safety harness's when I was a kid (maybe like 4 or 5 times)....but will never put on one in a tree again....15 years of hunting never fell out of one yet..so dont see the need to waste time putting one on

    I'll disagree with you on Vortex optics. I think they're junk. I've looked at several scopes and binos in big box stores. I saw scopes with practically no eye relief, out of focus reticles, and a fair amount of parallax. Leopold makes a far better product at similar price points.
    I think Vortex gets a lot of air time because of their awesome warranty. But their product's performance is lack luster at best.
