Republic Services’ Final Week in Fair Oaks Ranch

- After servicing the city of Fair Oaks Ranch for almost 20 years, Republic lost the contract for this city to Frontier who will be taking over September 30. This past week was Republic’s last time servicing this city so I made sure to document the process. Republic had trucks service the routes like normal but had a rear loader and cart crew follow behind the trucks so carts could be picked up immediately after collection. Cart crews picked up all the newer carts, which were primarily Toters so they can be reused, while rear loaders collected any older carts such as Ottos and M Series and packed them. It was really disappointing to see so many good cans get trashed, including some AW cans that still remained. During Republic’s time with this contract, they sent a variety of side loaders to collect here. From Labrie Experts in the Allied Waste days, to M/As, Multitasks and Pythons under the Republic name. It definitely stinks seeing Republic lose one of their longterm contracts, especially since most residents had no complaints regarding the service. At the end of the day, the decision to switch providers came down to city budget. Frontier starts here on Monday so it will be interesting to see how they handle things. This was a super fun and interesting filming experience and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did.
Big thanks to the awesome crews for letting me film and for their many years of service to this city!

*To Republic Services: my videos are not intended to get drivers into trouble. If the drivers did something wrong, please correct them rather than punish them so they don’t make the same mistake in the future. This video is for entertainment purposes only!
Republic was real serious about not letting any carts be left behind. You hardly see such a roll in of this magnitude with crews immediately following behind a garbage truck. Glad you were able to capture it, awesome variety of trucks including the PakMors!
Yup they made sure to get pretty much all of them, they even knew if residents were out of town and wouldn’t be able to put the carts out. It was honestly a super cool experience and unlike anything I’ve seen before. Glad you enjoyed it!
So that's were those Arlington division trucks went to. This was cool, it's like Republic services one last thank you for 20 years before they left.
Yup we got one Arlington Pete 5000 and a Granite McNeilus from Lewisville
Honestly extremely impressive work by republic the way they did this. Nice work documenting cool to see
Thank you sir
RIP to those poor AW carts.
I hope these trucks can go to Fairfax VA
None of the trucks will be sent away, we only send trucks between yards in Texas
@@andrewthetrashkid1435 yeah I know because we gave leach 2r2 In Dallas don’t you remember
Technique was awesome by Republic sucks they
lost it 😕
I agree
holy shit frontier is stealing so many contracts. Next thing you know frontier will be the only company in Texas lol.
They are growing like wildfire over here
RIP Waste Connections of McKinney and Republic of Fair Oaks Ranch. Frontier took both contracts 😢
Waste connetions of mckinney will work in frisco
Those are only a couple of the contracts they have taken over recently
@@Frontierwasteofmckinney Yeah, I know, and they’ll also work on other contracts
@@andrewthetrashkid1435 Wow. I guess they’re expanding even more. Here in Arkansas CARDS is doing something similar, they won two big contracts from WM.
Why are they throwing away old trash carts
Awesome video bro
Thanks
@@andrewthetrashkid1435no problem
So does this mean that the republic employees in Fair Oaks will lose their job ?
No sir they will be moved to other routes
What i wanna know is why throw away all those good karts that im sure can be replaced with a lot of broken one's..makes no dam sense
I think they figure it’s just easier considering they are older and made out of a different kind of plastic than the newer ones but most were still in good condition
@@slow2v04 Toters stack easier and don't need to be disassembled if they ever win anything in the future. all the older carts such as the ottos and schafers typically get recycled and or go to the landfill as a solution to republic
Way to go republic. Tons and tons of plastic for the landfill.
Not technically if it’s a load of straight cans they can get recycled
At least it was fun to watch?
@@brianspencer6955 If it's all straight cans it technically can be recycled. Since ottos and Schafers are made out of plastic. Think before you comment
@Cos.1s this is a small town in the middle of Texas. Republic rarely recycles cans anyway. there's no way they recycled them.
@brianspencer6955 Just because it's a small town in Texas does not mean that all these cans are going to landfill. Pretty sure these went off to recycle to they could make a quick buck
Why are the bins getting packed what is going on ?
Toters are rotation molded and last longer, so that’s why the other carts (Ottos, Schaefers, etc.) get packed. They usually don’t like using the injection molded carts because over time, if they get another contract or have more cart replacements/open market customers, they’ll break and end up being replaced again.
@@ARGarbageTrucks186 fair point but also consider the fact that the toters are newer, stack fully assembled and are uniform compared to the ssis and ottos
@@brianspencer6955 Right
It’s what republic does when they lose a contract
@@minibinwaredisposaldude5641 Republic tries to keep it uniform when it comes to Roll ins. Given they don't really win anything and it's extremely unheard of, they have found their own operations of how they do things.
fuck do they really have to do this?
Frontier sucks
BRO WHY IS EVERYONE LOSING THE DAM CANTRACT TO FRONTIER (nah i hope they start complaining about frontier)
They're undercutting bigtime...every company coming up does the same thing..Tiger, waste connections metro..they all did it
@@Jaydenthetrashkid3853 Majority of companies bid under and the company who bids the lowest company wins. Not the only reason contract losses happen. Can be bankruptcy, customer complaints etc. from what Andrew said I believe that republic had good customer service here. Frontier has more or less been on a spree expanding in texas, it won't hurt republic more or less given the other various contracts they have
@@Cos.1s ik that💀
