Republic Services After the Game: Fresno State Football Edition 2019

- The Fresno State football season was upon us which meant it was Republic's time to shine once again! Seen here is the aftermath of 5 out of the 6 home games the Bulldogs played this year. You may remember back in 2017 Ray driving 2420 as the main driver, but since he's enjoying retirement, Brian took his place last year as the new side load driver in 2203. With over 500 carts, 8-4 yarders and lots of overflow to empty in under 4 hours, it's not the easiest job but Brian, Rick, Ralph, Ruben and Banuelos make it look easy.
Seen in the video is Brian in his main truck 2203, 2201 when 2203 broke a coolant line, a quick shot of Rick in 1266 and Ruben in 1269. There is also some overhead packing action, something new I included this year. Feel free to skip around and enjoy or if you're tired of studying for finals then relax with 150 minutes of garbage trucks!
A huge thanks goes out to Brian, Rick, Ralph, Ruben and Banuelos for allowing me to film them and all the hard work they put in, not just here but every day!

if a trash collector spills trash in the road then that trash collector needs to get off his ass and pick it up!
Depending on the contract, drivers are not required to pick up anything that falls out of overfilled carts. Fresno State has a cleanup crew so either way it gets picked up.

They prolly got them from BFI to put stuff in before they were bought
In Sweden the garbage collectors usually go alone and jump in and out of the truck on every stop collect the bins and empty them in the back of the truck and place the bins back at where they find them. Back and forth up and down in out of the cab the whole shift nothing for the lazy one. Not like in America where they empty the bins without even leaving the vehicle. Does the driver ever get out of the truck while on the garbage route?
We sure do! I work in a different area than these folks but I work on a traditional rear load garbage truck in California and we are off at every stop. I used to work commercial in Fresno as well and you have to get out and move most bins to service and then push them back. There are no lazy garbage men in America even on automated routes.
@@rearloadmaster4854 100 % my bad without you guys the towns would flood in garbage not too mention the smell if no one collected it. Jeasus I tell you something it’s almost like going back to the ancient times. In this day and age that would never do.

@@lilo7784 the bins could have been scheduled to be picked up by republic. Since they are recycle cantainers a recycle truck will be picking them up

Wow! This video had to have taken a lot of time and effort to put together! I've filmed Brian in 2203 before collecting in Clovis - very cool guy! He told me that 2201 and 2203 are the only Curotto Can units they run currently, if I remember correctly. Seems to me that 2203 gets more run than 2201 does, for sure - not sure why that is.
Great diversity of camera angles in here! Really enjoyed the overhead view.. don't get to see that very often due to the difficulty involved in acquiring it. Awesome video!! Go Dogs!
Thanks a lot! Yes 2201 is a recycle truck exclusive to Clovis and it is slower compared to 2203 so that my be why. 2202 burnt down the 3rd month after it was delivered. Thanks again!

I would think events like these have a lot more dumpsters. The loose, slimy party trash was kinda satisfying lol. I absolutely loved the shot at 2:00:34, but it really shows how much the driver leaves behind. Good job dude
