    Great work Meir! Video done very well like the rest of your chanel and as always, gave me a good laugh! This video reminded me of a better version of a BuzzFeed video!

    Most American Jews, even if they were brought up on traditional Jewish food and frequented Jewish deli's will not be familiar with the foods shown in this video. The food here represents a wide range of "Jewish food". Most of which come from Hungarian Jews, which have been adapted by orthodox Jews the world over.

      @BytomGirl 9 лет назад +2

      Hampdood84 I am familiar with most and eat herring and griebens (not grievens) all the time... make different kinds of kugel and plan on making cholent. Herring is my favorite though (not the kind in jars with vinegar or wine, it's an abomination).

      AMK Productions I've never heard some of the names you had for that stuff. Grieven? We call it gribnes (GRIB-niss). And it's *amazing*. But I wouldn't touch p'tcha with a 10 foot pole. And Yerushalmi kugel is noodles and sugar. And pepper. You can't really go wrong with that.

    • @feldhamer
      @feldhamer 9 лет назад +5

      Lisa Liel I agree I would never touch p'tcha. Did they have to pick one of the worst examples of old-style Jewish food that nobody eats today?

    At least this video is about "chasidic food" and they didnt do the the mistake of calling modern European dishes as "traditional kosher/Jewish cuisine" de-'eurocentrifying' the klal one youtube video at a time.

    No such thing as "Chassidic Food." It's traditional Ashkenazi/European (with non-traditional variations), nothing to do with what group you belong to.
