So much more authentic than buzzfeed's video!
A dessert wearing a wig=Yerushalmi kugel....excellent!!!
ANSWER HIM CARL
"I like that it's shiny... you could take a girl out for this stuff, they like shiny things, right?" hahahahahahahahaaaa oh my goodness that was great.
Great work Meir! Video done very well like the rest of your chanel and as always, gave me a good laugh! This video reminded me of a better version of a BuzzFeed video!
Most American Jews, even if they were brought up on traditional Jewish food and frequented Jewish deli's will not be familiar with the foods shown in this video. The food here represents a wide range of "Jewish food". Most of which come from Hungarian Jews, which have been adapted by orthodox Jews the world over.
Hampdood84 I am familiar with most and eat herring and griebens (not grievens) all the time... make different kinds of kugel and plan on making cholent. Herring is my favorite though (not the kind in jars with vinegar or wine, it's an abomination).
Ashkenazi Jew here, and now I'm hungry!
It's impossible to dislike cholent and kishka. I eat it almost every shabbos. The best.
tevster1316 Not a big fan of cholent.
tevster1316 I love kishka and herring and grieben
veggetarian cholent is good
@@YaakovWalk Then you're not properly Jewish.
Dont worry I am also part of this club XD
Meir Kay, can we do a food testing, Sefardi edition? Take care!
Are you brave enough? #TheUltimateChassidicFoodTasteTest
AMK Productions I've never heard some of the names you had for that stuff. Grieven? We call it gribnes (GRIB-niss). And it's *amazing*. But I wouldn't touch p'tcha with a 10 foot pole. And Yerushalmi kugel is noodles and sugar. And pepper. You can't really go wrong with that.
Lisa Liel I agree I would never touch p'tcha. Did they have to pick one of the worst examples of old-style Jewish food that nobody eats today?
feldhamer I had p'tcha once and it was delicious!
feldhamer Touché man! That's what I was thinking. OTOH, gribbens and kugels are great, the rest .... not so much.
AMK Productions I love Chassidic food!
damn why did i come here on a fast day
hey carl!
Hilarious! Love it!
This justifies buzfeeds, thanks breadberry!
haha so creative and awesome!
Hey meir! this is really funny
Yummi Elkaim Thank Yummi! I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
Great!
FFUUUUNNNNYYYY!!!!!!GOOD ONE MEIR
finally got around to watching your videos :D
Cholent is the best food Jews invented. Not a lot of people add kishkas as much but it's really authentic if it does.
This is a good take
I love cholent and kishke I am a religious Jew but I am not Hasidic I am modern orthodox
Youwillbefound 1925 If you are modern orthodox, then you aren't a religious Jew. Religious Jews don't toss out the baby with the bath water.
And cholent is good.
Bro when is that twizzler challenge gunna go up
I love kugel
Well... now I'm hungry!
"A desert... That's wearing a wig"
I need a good ashkenazi cookbook
A dessert that*s wearing a wig…..😂
At least this video is about "chasidic food" and they didnt do the the mistake of calling modern European dishes as "traditional kosher/Jewish cuisine" de-'eurocentrifying' the klal one youtube video at a time.
Why should we "de-eurocentrify"????
We ARE European.
i am an israeli jewish and i never heard of this food
no gefilte fish?
When will that twizzler eating challenge be posted up here lmao
Chris Just Unique Hey Chris! Aiming for the end of the week
Okay man great can't wait to see it lmao
Chris Just Unique The video is up my man! Thanks for being part of it :)
am i in the video bro cause i didn't see myself and my boy in it?
I'm ashkenazi and like half of those things I've never heard of lol.
?
what about others jewish cultural foods like hamin and cuscus of shabath
Yeah, this is all Ashkenazi food, the rest of us don't eat this. Hell, most Ashkenazim don't even eat this. Ngl, so glad I'm Sefardi (although noodle kugel is delicious).
lyraface You mean to tell me you never eat herring? Then you are missing the best food there is)
I agree, sfardi food is usually more tasty than traditional Ashkenazi food...
were is the gefiltefish and the knaidalach?
He had a mercy for them… more cold fish almost balled fish will be 😕
hilarious
+נסיכה טוֹבָה ikr....btw, which ancient rabbi was that? You can write it in hebrew.
y altschuler Maimonides ofcourse
נסיכה טוֹבָה Ah...the great ramban
No such thing as "Chassidic Food." It's traditional Ashkenazi/European (with non-traditional variations), nothing to do with what group you belong to.
carl!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also ..donoughts ..Sofgania..jam doughnut is jewish ...
LOL
the black one...
I don't know half this food
We're is the gifiltafish
❤😂❤😂😂
its so funny
soooo funny
i have never heard of gala and im jewish this isnt trditional jewish food
+Chaya Hirsch or perhaps you've learned something new by watching it :) hope you enjoyed thanks for watching
It totally is. Also called, P'tcha.
+Meir Kay
you forgot the GEFILTE FISH! :)
it's not for me...ptcha
BH I am an Israeli Jew....I'll take my schnitzel pita any day
מאיר, עס איז נישט חאסידיש עסן. עס איז יידישע עסן. און עס איז נישט יידישע. עס איז אוירופיש עסן. אבער די צ'ולנט איז יידישע פון אויראפע און צפון אפריקע.
Im jewish Israeli I would never go near this food
Most jews don't like gala
I'm Jewish and I never try any of these weird food.
Laurenn J. Chemla You are missing out then.. herring is amazing and so are different kinds of kugel and griebens (not grievens) are wonderful (who doesn't like crispy skin on chicken, and that what they are, crispy chicken or duck skin)
Depends which part of the world ur from. Not all jews eat the same.
I lived in many parts of the world and have been eating herring everywhere
Youre also not chasidic
מי שישראלי ומי שמשעמם לו ממש עד שהוא נתקל בסרטון הזה שיעשה לי
That is not jewish food !! that is polish food !!and we don't eat most of that food ..
