Thanks for giving the Slim some love. I have a 2018 Slim and am completely in love with it. New seat is the only thing I’ve done. 👍

I have a Mustang Wide VIntage on my Blackline that I absolutely love, I bet it fits on the new Slim with some minor adaptations (if so) since the Blackline and the Slim were sister bikes on the previous frame. I can't think about living without it. Enjoy your bike and ride safe!

I ordered my 2019 Slim the week you posted this! I agree, that there are other bikes in HD's lineup that are better suited for in depth customizing, but subtle changes can still upgrade the looks of the Slim, while keeping the concept intact. I went with blacked, shortened pipes and switched the black tank for the rugged gold one (fenders remain black denim). So, kind of a grown up sportster 48.
Now I'm totally hyped for spring to come, and swing it through the Ardennes! Even more so after watching you review.

Ha! I just discovered your channel, and I love it. I'm a long time rider of two wheels (motorcycles and bicycles) who's been off motorcycles for a bit, and am looking at the Iron 883 or 1200 Custom to get me back on the road. Listening to your commentary is kind of like the good old days of listen to Phil and Paul covering the Tour de France. That's a compliment, by the way.

The slim is great to customise. I have a 200 rear tyre, new fender, 2 up seat, detachable sissy bare and rack, and a few other cosmetic things done on my slim s and it looks fantastic. Oh and of course a full stage one Huge fan of your vids mate, keep it up.

A nice upgrade with the 107 over the 103. I have ridden both and the 107 has a nice increase in power over the 103 which I found to be quite sufficient.

Now running stage 2 (FP3, V&H 300 pipes, RSD clarity air cleaner and SE power cam), whilst I’m lucky enough to have other bikes, it’s the slim that gets used every time

Top review as always and thank you. I have been out of riding for 10 years following a pretty severe coming together with the M27 on a Fat Boy. 🤕 I had just made the decision in August to get a bike when I suffered a health setback that prevents me from driving (and riding) for 12 months. Your blogs and sincerity are really helping me through this rubbish time and the wait for the return of my license. Now if you could review the Deluxe and compare it to the Slim that would be great 👍🏻. I love the style of the D but the chrome is a bit dated now perhaps... Cheers

Amazing ride position, performance, bad ass look.
I just did some little things:
    01. custom license plate fender.
02: front led turn signals and black lens.

P.S. Forgot- get rid of that speedo electronic crap on the tank. Not necessary. Needs a Speedo and a Tach up front up 4" from the bars and 4" in dia. That way you can see it in bright sunlight. And you don't have to take your eyes off the road ahead to read them.

  • @93ghost

Hello from France and thank you so much for your review. I've seeing almost all of your tests ride and the question I have in terms of handling, touring, comfy stuff what would be your number one? The new Slim or the Fat Bob? I tried both of them and I love them both for different reasons. I feel the Slim is less harder on the road. I had the feeling to sometimes fight with the handle bar in the turns. What is your opinion on that please ? Again thank you so much. Love all the vids and come ride in France you're welcome even though I know you did already;-). Best regards.

Idk if you've pulled the trigger yet boss but- I'm 6'2" 205 lbs. I fit fine, although I wish the foot controls were just a tad bit more forward. Where they are now, it is okay. I can ride comfortably but itd be even better forward. If I'm cruising on the highway I like to stretch out and just rest my heels in the outside edge of the floorboard for more comfort

Headlight, handle bars, forward control, floor boards. rear fender, exhaust, all must be changed out, Plus change wheels for all triple chromed spokes , rims, and hubs. Those LED lights give me a splitting head ache and I'm not the only one affected by them. Nothing wrong with conventional lighting systems, plus they're not freakin BLUE in color. Harley does make a great engine & trans though. They do need to pump up the HP factor.

  • @22Royston

You say the 117 is an absolute beast when comparing to a 114 when in fact factory outputs are very similar- the difference you likely notice is that a stock 117 has already had cam work. Note also that 107 taken to stage 2 will have a similar output to a factory CVO 117. Small points maybe but accurate.

The fact is harley is an expensive brand and if you want to ride new toys then you need to be prepared to bay the money... Even the 2017 softail slim S is still selling at 15 k second hand.

hi I'm French ! I love the softail slim 107ci engine seems really nice, I have some question: it is said a little more lively than the 114ci is it true according to you? and another question with an internship 2 does one really feel that one is gaining power or is it necessary to go to stage 3?

quentin maxime in my opinion I don’t think the 107 has an edge over the 114, nor do I feel the 114 is a giant leap forward the engine torque is only 10 NM difference.
With a stage 4 it’s really down to personal preference. It would never be a must on my list as I’d always want to concentrate on stage 1 and other aftermarket bolt ons I’d want to do.

I love the Slim, handles like a well set up Sporty. Can I ask, why are you using the back brake when going into a turn? That is a bad technique and you could end up on your arse.

JasonS550 _ I feel more comfortable using the back brake for turns - remember I’m not applying heavy pressure, simply a light touch. Works for me ( and since my BMX days )

I always use the back brake on my softail. I had to adapt my riding style, but the riding position and frame geometry make the rear brake much more useful than on other bikes I've owned.
