Possibly one of the Dublin footballers best ever performances. Coming back on two occasions from a three points arrears going down the stretch took real bottle. Some great individual performances. Jack O' Connor a poor loser, never gave any credit to Dublin players.

How is Jack o' Connor a poor loser? He just stated facts, the winners used their greater experience, and composure to eek out a narrow win. Kerry made mistakes, biggest one was when going 3 points up, they should have pushed up on Cluxton's kickouts, narrow his options, instead they went Conservative, and tried to defend the lead, that's when they should have gone for the jugular, and really go for it,they didn't, and paid the price.

Kerry were not lucky winners in 2022, why? Kerry missed a penalty in that game just on the stroke of half time, Paul geaney missed a great goal chance, early in 2nd half to put the game to bed. kerry gifted Dublin a way back into it, when David moran gave a sloppy pass under no pressure to a Dublin player at a time when kerry were on the attack themselves it ended in a Dublin goal that gave them a lifeline back into a game they were 2nd best in for most of the time, it was a title for tat scoring after that. Sean o' Shea scored possibly one of the greatest free kicks of all time to deservedly win the game for kerry, who for most of the game were the better team. So enough of this stupid B/S that kerry were lucky. Kerry deservedly won it, they should have won by at least another 2 or 3 points!

What a stupid question, "Why did Kerry lose?" Every time Kerry lose it's never because the other team were better than Kerry, there's always a post mortem to how is it possible Kerry can lose, every time as if it was their birthright. Dublin were better in the first half and only the goal at the end of the firs half, a clumsey goal let in by Dublin because that brilliant footballer Clifford made a great pass to Geaney , a brilliant forward and he almost fluffed it. O'Callagnan should have had a goal when it came back off the crossbar and at the end Paul Mannion did the pragmatic thing putting the ball over the bar when he could have put it in the net. Why did Dublin win? Because this is not the old days where Kerry's jerseys when their players came on to the pitch used to be worth five points to them when the opposition saw them. This is not a great Kerry team, flaws in lots of positions but they never have a bad team. Look at the misses Dublin and Kerry had, equal and some of Clifford's efforts were the wrong option you couldn't say were nailed on misses. Because he didn't score nine points they say he had an off day, he played great, as well as he was allowed to play. He's not invincible, maybe against Clare or Cork but Dublin? Give them some credit, last year they lost to a brilliant free kick that if even Kerry supporters were honest could have gone anywhere and there would have been extra time. That's the game, mistakes, heroics, refereeing decisions, partisan subjectivity all rolled into one. Dublin were the better team and Kerry were always struggling.

Look, Dublin shot as many wides as Kerry and from better positions. Dublin, on watching the game a second time were by far the better team. Kerry didn't play as Kerry should, Jack O'Connor put the brakes on them and played a system alien to their natural way of playing, then we might have got a match like in 2013, not this system chocking play. It was not a great game and Dublin should have won by more. The referee just let them go at it, calling for a slight technical fowl on Clifford when he cannon balled the ball wide from a few yards and got a free for a fingertip on his jersey while taking each other's heads off was just ignored. Great footballers will have to learn to fly if this keeps up. As a Dublin man I miss matches like 2013 and the games against Mayo. Dublin had to go defensive because the rest of the country were doing it and boring us to death, but at least they tried their best to attack without fear and that was the key. They simply had better footballers in theor team and Kerry dis not have the same level in their fifteen on the pitch. Clifford is human and stop calling him the greatest ever, it does him no service at all, just let him play without putting all this crap on his shoulders.

No way did Dublin shoot as many wides as kerry, kerry missed sitters, punched a point blank point wide in the 2nd half, geaney missed an open goal chance before scoring in first half, David Clifford missed a great goal chance, after making great inroads along the end line in first half, took wrong option, Clifford had good moments, and got the better of Fitzsimmons on occasions, but needed to do it more often, Dublin scores in winning came very late in game, so saying they deserved to win by more is a bit silly. As a kerry person they deserved to win on the day, but only for being that bit more clinical in finishing, so yes on that basis, just about deserved to win!

But his scoring return based on shots is not great nd some of his decision making is very poor. Let us be clear here - While Dublin fans are delighted with the win, there isn't a single Dublin fan prepared to suggest that yesterday was a vintage, or brilliant performance - it wasn't.
So Kerry lost to a below par Dublin (certainly compared to the glory days of five or six years ago.
Further, if you look at the whole season, Dublin lost only one match in either the League or Championship (away to Derry in the League) and drew one match in the "Round Robin" phase of the Championship.
Kerry, on the other hand lost FOUR times in the League and once (at Home) in the "Round Robin".
So why is (and was) there this assumption that Kerry are (were) the "Best Team" in the Country?
If you want to look at the Whole Year, Mayo won the League and beat Kerry in the "Round Robin" - so if the Championship was knock-out, Kerry don't even make it past the first round ...
There's a huge anti-Dublin bias in GAA Punditry. While these people CLAIM to not wanting the same team winning the Championship "all the time", they simultaneously want Kerry to win the Championship VERY Regularly, despite the fact that for most of the history of the GAA, Kerry have won the Championship on a Regular basis...

Catholic guilt? WTF are you blathering about, get a bit of cop on will you. Cluxton has been their most important player, without him,and his kicking prowess, and Tactical ability they wouldn't have had a fraction of the unparalleled success they've had, since 2013. He was the main ingredient that gave them that extra advantage over their opponents for the past decade or so. Had he not returned, despite Mccaffery coming back they wouldn't have won the all Ireland, simple as!

@@conoconnor4375 ok in your new wall of text you never once mention "celebrations after last year's win" as the reason for Kerry's loss. Good progress. You're learning.
Kerry lost because they were worse. Sure they "underperformed". But so did Dublin - Ciaran Kilkenny and Con O'Callaghan are two of the greatest forwards of the last 40 years, neither scored. James McCarthy "underperformed" too. Dublin won because they are marginally a better team than Kerry.
As for Cluxton and kick out strategy. Kerry made a tactical decision based on the quality of the players they had available. Cluxton did no particularly amazing kick outs that Evan Comerford couldn't have. Kerry are not as good at pressuring Dublin's kick out while minding the long ball as Mayo were a few years ago against Dublin. In fact, that Mayo team would probably beat this year and last year Kerry team in an All Ireland Final.

Kerry still could have won with the chances they had. Their forwards totally bottled it. The rest of them need to take responsibility when Clifford is being marked out of the game.
Dublin are nowhere near the standard of a few years ago, and we won’t see them win another all Ireland soon.

Hahaha what are you on about. They're obviously not at the same standard but either are anyone else. They've as much chance as anyone else to win!! And all it takes is 2 top young lads to come in which will happen again.
