PC Engine SALAMANDER by Konami - one credit - no practice!

This conversion of Salamander is pretty good, although i don't like the checkpointing they added from Lifeforce - this addition is probably because the game only has 6 levels. It doesn't seem to matter which version of Salamander i play, i always get stuck around end of level four or mid point of level 5. I'm pretty sure that if i put some hours in i could complete this one on one credit...but we may never know!

is it worth the cash? with retro game prices on the increase the people need to know.

Really like the cut of the PCE's jib. Would have been mind blowing to own one in its day. I have the Saturn deluxe pack for Gradius/Salamander which is great but this is a fine looking port. First encountered PCE games on the Wii's VC.

i agree. the Gradius port is very nice too, the PC engine is truly a wondrous thing:)
