- This is a beautiful, colourful combination using only three varieties of plants that will brighten up a shade area of your yard. I have created this in a rectangular planter, I will share how you can adapt this recipe to a round container as well. I grow flowers and vegetables in Saskatchewan, Canada. My cold hardiness zone is zone 4. I have an average of 110 frost free growing days each year. The past few years have seen our temperatures go as low as -37C (-34.6F) to as high as 37C (98.6F). Come see what and how I grow in these conditions.

Howdy, Prairie Plantgirl!👋 Great Inspiration! Lovely plant combination!👍💕
Thank you!
Very nice..that will brighten up that shady spot nicely.
Your overwintered begonias did really well...that double one is so pretty
Thanks 👍
You are very talented and 9:04 patient with those inpatients. My wife Linda would love what you have created. I too think it looks great! Hopefully everything is growing well for you this season so far. Take care!
Thank you!
Nicely done
Thanks!
I used to grow a prennial Fuchsia in my shady area, but there are lots of tender ones that would fit in that space for you. I think I might get a couple of Imaptiens to fill a couple of gaps I have.... thanks for jogging my memory.
Fuschias are also wonderful shade plants!
I just picked up some soapwart perennial flower seeds for my shade garden, they attract butterflies and hummingbirds 🌱💚
I love soapwort! It is just starting to bloom here.
@@PrairiePlantgirlthat's amazing and I just noticed your Canadian too! I was out picking wild milkweed in Hope's to attract monarchs! If You Want To add me up later 😊
Last year all flowers in white plastic planter box died fast. Think the light was getting though too hot and no aeration. Painted the boxes added diy weed block bag, some spacer sticks, and drilled overflow hole. Looking little better cross fingers.
Good luck!
