    Thank you for actually going through the features & the front panel. I'm a huge early 90's hip hop fan and always wondered how they did the sound & production. A lot of people here post vids of making beats on it but don't show what the buttons do. The explanation of multi pitch & level was great, I always wanted to know so that I could recreate it. I can't afford an SP but have the MPC software on my computer and wanted to see how the SP workflow compares. I think some of this can be recreated even on the Roland MC-707. Lo-fi, analog tape effects, compressors, etc can also be used. Now we have a lot more sampling time on modern machines but that early hip hop, house, and D&B sounds are unbeatable classics. This was a very helpful video.

      And totally re: limitations. This is a topic I am passionate about. I could talk for hours about it, unscripted 😁 ... I plan to feature my 1985 Casio SK-1, which is an 8 bit "sampler" with 0.5 seconds of memory I think, presets, and a distorted sound. It was sold at Radio Shack back then. I've had mine for almost 20 years, and made a ton of actual music with it. Your comment reminded me of this. See you around here soon! Thank you

    So.....that was nice....and yes...show and let them hear the " whole " sampling proces / workflow / re-sample a sp1200 sample beat into sp1200 ( Ping Pong for those SP Die Hards ) and more hidden tricks for ( or in ) the sp1200 and...hahahah....SEQUENCE ( out of the box drum programming in the step-mode 1/32t mode with a decay efx ).That's why I gave my SP1200 away to a younger next gen female producer to show / feel / smell the SP1200.For me...I'm OLD SKOOL ( with a S2400 ) ...adapting to the new new wave true skool to SHOW OFF my classic gear.....KNOWLEDGE...Peace,GOD. PS : the SP-1200 OWNERS MANUAL done by CRAIG ANDERTON is also a good knowlegde pill for who to sample...with out a SP1200. Can you please explain why the sp1200 on ebay is now at $15,000 last year it was at $ 7,000 it seems to be going up dramatically

    • @ManoOne-Music-Production
      @ManoOne-Music-Production  3 года назад

      I actually just realized that a few days ago! It would usually go for $3000 in 2018 when I got mine. One thing is that they often don't actually *sell* for the high prices, so make sure to toggle "sold" on when you look on eBay and are curious about the prices (and how much to offer a seller). I have thoughts about this, and should make a video... Thank you for the idea!

    its from 1997 ... NOT the mid 80's

    • @ManoOne-Music-Production
      @ManoOne-Music-Production  Год назад +1

      I understand the initial thought. I should give some context for my specific SP. the original SP-1200 was in the 80s and mine - even though you see the black case - is in fact from the 80s. It’s not a regular reissue. Many parts are SP-12 parts, and it comes straight from… E-MU. It’s a prototype. My friend worked there in the 80s and 90s, and it was an SP he took with him when the company closed down. It was on the engineering bench over the years, and used to design new parts, such as the new power supply which later was used for the reissue. Hope this is useful. Take care and thanks for being here
