Inspired by the incredible ingenuity and effort Mike Patey put into building the full-sized aircraft, E-flite® delivered the first officially licensed scale replica of his ultimate bush plane - the amazing DRACO 2.0m. Since its release, many pilots have dreamt of and asked for a scaled-down version that’s more affordable, convenient, and easier to fly in more places and smaller spaces! The E-flite Micro DRACO 800mm is precisely that and is slightly larger than UMX (Ultra Micro eXtreme) and other ultra-micro class models to better replicate the complex design while also including as many scale details as possible. It’s still small and light enough to fly in large yards, small parks, sports fields, and beyond - yet also features many surface details including molded-in rivets, panel lines, and control surface corrugation, plus antennas, steps, wingtip “stinger” skids, and more. Functional features include LED navigation, landing and simulated strobe lights, flaps, and a steerable tailwheel. Oversized, tundra-style tires on the sprung wire main gear with simulated KING shocks soak up bumps and provide excellent prop clearance while also making it possible to take off from and land on paved, dirt, gravel, and even the grass surfaces found at many parks and sports fields.
The high-power brushless outrunner motor can drive the scale 4-blade propeller with a 3S 300mAh battery for smooth and scale-like flight and even to perform basic aerobatics. Or you can use a 4S 300mAh battery without any modifications or upgrades for better-than-scale vertical performance and more aggressive aerobatic flying! The factory-installed Spektrum receiver and ESC deliver real-time telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current, motor RPM, and more, to compatible AirWare™ equipped transmitters. Plus, the receiver is also equipped with exclusive and expertly-tuned AS3X® so it feels like you’re flying a larger model - even in some wind - along with optional-use SAFE® Select technology that makes it easier to fly successfully after you’ve mastered flying at least one or two previous RC aircraft! Best of all, Micro DRACO arrives factory-finished with a premium, fully-painted plus decal trim scheme and mostly factory-assembled with a separate one-piece wing that can be installed or removed quickly and easily with a single screw. It all adds up to offer an authentic - yet more affordable and convenient - DRACO flying experience, including unmatched STOL (Short Take Off and Landing), scale, and beyond flight performance!
Micro DRACO is a Bind-N-Fly® (BNF) Basic aircraft that includes a Spektrum receiver equipped with industry-leading DSMX/DSM2 technology so intermediate to experienced RC pilots can use their own compatible transmitter, battery, and charger. An ULTIMATE Combo including the BNF Basic airplane, a Spektrum transmitter, Smart charger, adapter, and battery - plus a copy of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC Flight Simulator - is also available that includes everything needed to fly and saves you more than $70 compared to purchasing all of the items separately!
Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft, such as the HobbyZone® Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m (www.horizonhobby.cc/CarbonCubS2RTF). Based on the Carbon Cub Mike’s wife, Chandra Patey, used to fly, it’s equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately or together in a money-saving Powerstage bundle) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot.

We are now waiting for the Micro Turbo Timber Evo 4s ;)
For those who might not see this response to some of the related comments here: There is no industry standard when it comes to how terms like ultra micro, micro, mini, etc. are applied to various models. This model is larger, has more features AND more performance than UMX models....which is why we call it "Micro" and not "Ultra Micro". We believe micro models are larger than ultra micro models, yet should still be under the 250 gram weight limit set by the FAA and other organizations (which this one is). And "mini" models are larger/heavier than that: Ultra Micro < Micro < Mini
Also, this model is fully factory assembled...the wing installs in seconds with one screw to make the box smaller (which reduces the amount of material used/potential waste, shipping costs, and to make it even easier to store/transport). We've done the same (made the wing removable) with the recently released UMX Conscendo (ruclips.net/video/9Pj_XjNpODo/видео.htmlsi=345cxZ4gtXQjM9qh ), and will do that with more ultra micro and micro models in the future. But they will still be fully factory assembled otherwise!
I wasn’t sure it would ever happen, but here we are…..LET’S GO!!!! Order placed 👊🏻💥👊🏻
Now I get something cool to fly along my buddies with their umx timber evo.
I just received my full size Draco a couple weeks ago. I have not flown it yet due to busy work schedule, but I will add this one to my list. The full size is a beautiful plane, and I am sure this one will be equally as sweet. Thanks, E-flight!!
Awesome piece of art HH. Great job. Iam really happy that now many RC lovers will be able to afford this iconic bird. I love the size and 4S power👍 Big salute to all hard core amateur pilots here from Pilot Robert Slovenia 😉🤘
Just clicked the button Robert hopefully get before end of march bloody clickity button it jumped out on me lol 😂
Ok HH 😊 havent really flown my fleet of UMX birds due to new baby (4yrs ago now 😢) but THIS will get me back in the air!!! Good job guys
lol.. i feel it so much..
two little kid (2 and 4) and so: i buy once a year a new plane.. non of them flown sofar, lol
Love the new UMX planes coming out, but any love for UMX edf jets in the near future?
Much love for UMX EDFs (and larger ones too!) over here ;)
That should be a fireball on 4s! 🤯🤩 Nice!!
You know what. If I squint really really hard. It kind of like looks like an airwolf scale model. 👌❤️👍😋👀
HH in my opinion, has the best planes just got a umx timber x after my sport cub and am very happy with it! Keep up the great work horizon!
When will we get a umx/mini viper? And when will the umx planes get reverse thrust?
Maybe someday!
I’d only take off once! 🙈🤣
Finally 4s lipo power in UMX planes. I am wondering what the future will bring with this kind capability. Maybe a UMX F27 4s ? Maybe a UMX striker 4s? New fastest UMX plane is inevitable.

Why Horizon?! You just made my selection for a micro plane even harder!😊
back to work , where's Scrappy ?
YES E-Flite! Thank you 🤘
Why are they not calling this a UMX? Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited about it.
Because the wing is detachable unlike the assembled in the box UMX planes.

Another hit out of the park & a great way to follow the "Detroit Miss"
A hat-trick, would be releasing a Micro Twin Timber, or re-releasing an upgraded Aero Commander.
Either way, you're off to an amazing start this year! My pre-orders are already in 👍
Been wanting this for so long!
Are we ever seeing the Umx cirrus coming back ??
That would be a nice one to bring back with a few updates and upgrades ;)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts yes please
!!!!!
@@HorizonHobbyProducts I also think the cirrus SF50 vision jet should be a 70mm or a Umx!
A ‘little brother’ to go with my full size. Wonderful scale & crying out for a beach flight. Only thing missing… see thru cockpit, but then you can’t have everything👍🇦🇺🦘
I ordered one and found out they are on backorder and not getting in till end of Feb! I predict that these will sell twice or more as many as they sold of the original Draco!
They started shipping in the US for the first time yesterday (2/22/24)!
Is this reverse thrust capable???
It's not, in part because it would not be very effective/impactful on a model this small.
Kudos to Horizon Hobby ! My order is placed along with two 4s batteries. I'm looking forward to this model .
Same! I am pretty darn excited 👊🏻💥👊🏻
You guys ARE working on Scrappy, right???
Fantastic!!!
umx corsair on 2s/3s? umx habu on 2s/3s in the orange navy scheme?
Yes, it's called habu 50 mm
@@aragorn318 nope. the umx habu was 28mm, which would now be 30mm. that orange paint job is not the navy trim, it’s different. it was released 9 or 10 years ago, you should check it out
A Micro Corsair would definitely be welcome, as would a Micro P-38!!
@@rhysespeace agreed! But I also really want another micro habu because of how good it looked and how well it did belly landings, something the a-10 apparently struggles with
@@jaekipark3012 Habus are great in any size, but the UMX A-10 does not struggle with belly landings! It's very easy to belly land properly with the nose us when you use the correct technique. Those struggling are doing so due to their own skills/technique...the airplane is not the problem ;)
This one is not really for me, but the 4s 300mah battery use has me interested. Does that mean 4s UMX edfs in the future?
Hmmm ;)
Can i use a Spektrum 4S 450mah Battery? Will it handle it? Or not?
This model was designed for and tested with 4S 300mAh batteries that weigh around 45 grams (and 3S 300mAh batteries that weigh even less). 4S 450mAh batteries weigh almost twice as much at around 85g. That's a huge weight increase (~20%) on a model that weighs ~200 grams without the battery. The 4S 450mAh batteries will likely work, but it will probably be nose heavy and the flight performance will not be as good when using them. Also, when using 4S 300mAh batteries, the total weight is just under the 250 gram limit set by the FAA and other organizations...if you use 4S 450mAh batteries you will technically need to install a Remote ID unless you are flying in a FRIA. That's why most people prefer to buy and use the recommended 4S 300mAh batteries that cost less than $20 each: www.horizonhobby.com/product/4s-14.8v-300mah-30c-lipo-battery/SPMX3004SJ30.html
Just ordered mine I would love the big one but at over £550-650 I would never be able to justify that money well unless I won the lotto 😂
Can anyone help with regards to if I can operate this with the Spektrum DX6e? I'd rather not have to spend the extra money for an NX6 if I dont need to.
I'm just getting into planes and am wanting to get a Conscendo 1.5m glider and this 800mm Draco and hopefully a DX6e will happily fly them both.
Any advice would be gratefully received 👍
The NX6 has a 7th channel that can be very useful for more complex models that have flaps plus retracts and the option for SAFE Select as well as thrust reversing. The DX6e will work great for the Conscendo Evolution 1.5m and the Micro DRACO 800mm so you don't "need" the NX6 to fly them, but you may come up short on channels for larger and/or more complex models in the future...especially if you plan to use SAFE Select. The NX6 has a nicer feeling case with rubber grips, a rechargeable battery, WiFi for easier firmware updates, a USB port so you can connect it to a computer to use it with RealFlight, and other features over the DX6e that make it more expensive but also a better option for many people because they won't outgrow it (a lot of people outgrow the DX6e and end up having to spend more by buying an NX6 or NX8 after).
Ugh. Cool but no geebee r2.
Take my money
Wich one is more capable?
Umx timber x or this micro draco???
Want to buy a new one but can't decide....🙈
The UMX Timber X is more aerobatic overall, including the ability to perform some 3D aerobatics. Micro DRACO is also capable of performing aerobatics, as seen in this and other videos, but it's overall capabilities/flight envelope are more similar to the UMX Turbo Timber Evolution. Which is why the best solution is to buy both :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts AGREED!!
@@HorizonHobbyProducts is it faster than the umx timber evo???
@@HorizonHobbyProducts got both of them in my cart😊
Located in Germany 😊
When is it aviable in Europe ?
Micro DRACO will be available in the EU, UK and other regions in March of 2024!
I like it
Nice😎👍🏻
You guys gotta stop making these awesome little planes. My wallet will thank you.
I want one now
Pre-order ASAP at your favorite retailer or here if you haven't already: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=mdraco800
The first shipments are almost entirely sold out...and we may not be able to get more until late summer/early fall!
Pair it with a spectrum DSX controller for $280 and take over the rtf beginner market
Although it's relatively easy to fly, especially due to the optional-use SAFE technology, we don't consider the Micro DRACO to be a good "trainer" for first-time/beginner RC pilots. We do offer an "ULTIMATE Combo" ( www.horizonhobby.com/product/micro-draco-800mm-bnf-basic-ultimate-combo/EFL13550UC.html ) that includes everything needed to fly it, plus a copy of RealFlight Trainer Edition to help, but we still don't recommend learning to fly with that (though some people will likely try...and even succeed!). This is what we say officially regarding the skill level for Micro DRACO:
Skill Level 2 - Some Experience Required
Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots with some experience and the skills to assemble and/or set up and fly similar class models. Although this is the easiest to fly DRACO model yet, it's not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or a “next step after a trainer” model for low-time RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly higher performance ultra-micro models like the various UMX Timber models or larger models like the Slow Ultra Stick 1.2m, Valiant 1.3m, Turbo Timber Evolution 1.5m, or other similar class models before attempting to fly the Micro DRACO.
Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, Micro DRACO is not a suitable first-ever RC model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft, such as the HobbyZone Carbon Cub S 2 1.3m. Based on the Carbon Cub Mike's wife, Chandra Patey, used to fly, it's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately or together in a money-saving Powerstage bundle) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot.

You’re thinking UMX (ultra micro)
I think what you're describing is the UMX range (ultra micro extreme) this is bigger than those but smaller than a park flier. I think micro is a fair way to describe it.
