@@InjectBleach Well....aren't you just a bundle of joy. At least 4 people liked my comment. Evidently, someone does care. How 'bout you go pound sand? 😮😮😮
great job dave. i dont float my trem on my 50 strat like this one. mine has aged laquered neck and i love it. i dont use the trem but it decked so it can only dive bomb at best. great video nice looking guitar. mine has aged pickups too. thanks Larry
The 'scratches' on the top bout are pick marks. Owner of this guitar is playing at or above the neck pickup (Stevie Ray Vaughn style) and driving his/her pick hand towards the 16th. fret. I do it myself and all of my Strats have those marks. Never seen anyone drive that high or at that angle...but I can see what is going on. It is what it is because it's personal style. That being said; I don't understand the gunck in the saddle screws, because anyone that plays like that (me included) isn't anywhere near the saddle with my picking hand. All I can think of is two different people (or owners) with two different playing styles have mucked and marred this beautiful axe. But it's ok; because guitars were meant to be played no matter what your style is. P.S.- Not saying it's ok to let your guitar get all mucked up and dirty (clean it once in a while)...but scratches, pick marks, and dings are gonna happen no matter what. REAL relicing is just fine by me. People pay good money for FAKE relicing---and that's not me.
For a 7.5 neck rad theres a 1/64 difference, also for above 12 neck also a 1/64 diff. Guess you could make them all the same! Cheers! @@DavesWorldofFunStuff
Every day I Learn more. Thank you Dave 👍🎸
My pleasure!
Hi Dave
Great as always to see you. I thought for sure you’d put a shim to get those saddle screws down. Great video as always my friend. Lou
I've seen Dave go off on shims. For some its a simple fix.
Hope you had a nice Christmas and thanks for teaching me how to properly set up my guitars Sir.
Happy holidays!
I don't block my trem but I do use 5 springs (decked). It reduces the need for constant tuning.

Hope you enjoyed it!
Always. ✌️
That thing needs a neck shim Dave what u doing? The saddle height adjustment screws are way sticking up 🙀 loll
... back on your heads! HA! another argument for numbering the jokes! 8-)
Happy New Year, thanks for all the lessons.
Same to you!
Dave doing the 12 days of guitar repair and setup videos I'm guessing.
Very informative. Another terrific video on Strat setups. Happy New Year!! :)
Subscribed! As soon as I heard the accent, and humour, knew you had to be Canadian. Cheers from Ontario.
Thanks for subbing
needs a shim at the end of neck so you can get those saddle screws in some ouch.
they are all rusted and messed ..another guys job
Journey to the Center of the Mind. Nuff said.
Merry Twixtmas, Dave!
Whoever did the shielding in the body cavity and the pickguard did a beautiful job, and they made it look easy.
It's factory. You can tell it's a modern strat body by the stickers over Fender's typical black shielding paint.
@@mikej6565 Yeah, but what what the hell is that scuff?

Have a great new year Dave. Those scratches, I think the guy used a weird strumming position with a metal pick, doing wind mills.
Slung low, punk rock strumming, with metal bracelets and rings on🎉
Awesome video have a wonderful happy holiday season also a fantastic happy new year Dave also merry Christmas ❤😊

Doing windmills may create scratches in that particular spot.
SRV strumming will do that.
5 strings? Tune it to Keith's tuning then. Saw your band video Dave, the singer sounds like Johnny Winter.
another great vid do you have the stewmac pt no for hoover exstension rab
No, sorry
Those scratches are probably pick marks from some punk guy who had it slung down to his knees and downpicked the hell out of it.
Pick me! Pick me! Ah, does the truss rod turn?
Looks like pick damage from playing over the neck. MHO.
As Always Gettn Er Done Dave !
Congratulations with 150K subs 🙂
Looks like an American Special
Wazup Dave 😊
Sorry but the set screws for the bridge look like broken chainsaw teeth. Shim the neck?
sorry camera angle STFU you strum over the bridge?
So when shopping for a used guitar, do you bring a set of allen keys with you to check if the truss rod works?
I would
@@InjectBleach Kittens love you!
Can't you remove the neck pickup screws to remove the pickguard without removing the neck?
did you watch NO
Is getting poached the same as getting pooched?
Id just have the finish removed and make it a natural to get rid of them scratchin's
Question: If low E is set higher than high E, what do you set the 4 strings in between to?
they all have to be the same ..pick a number ALL THE SAME lookit up on yer interweb thing
