    • @colemadonna6284
      @colemadonna6284 7 лет назад +2

      bq041 I can't tell if you're joking so I'll say this anyway: NATO and ICAO both call for India as the phonetic pronunciation of I.

    • @colemadonna6284
      @colemadonna6284 7 лет назад +2

      Ah, ok. I'm a pilot so I know the ICAO alphabet, and I was under the impression that it was more standard than it is. Sorry for being ignorant and pretending I know what I'm talking about.

    • @lapissheepz8741
      @lapissheepz8741 6 лет назад

      Cole Madonna I know this is old but you are definitely right. Every U.S. unit I have met or been in has used India. Indigo is considered outdated, and the ICAO alphabet is almost entirely standard.

    You should try telling the scammer that you already purchased the life time security protection last week when they were fixing your computer. Unfortunately you have a new wirus again. Since you already bought the lifetime, what reason do they have to ask for your credit card again! They should be fixing it free of charge ;)

    I hate how the scammer acted like Windows 8 didn't exist

  • @srobart
    @srobart 7 лет назад +8

    This guy still isn't as much of a scheister as one I saw the other day who actually took the person to the Walmart website and showed them a hardware switch/firewall and then told the person that that is how much they would charge him for the same fixes at Walmart (it was like $4800.00 or something silly like that). Of course the scammer wasn't offering hardware, he was turning on the Windows firewall, which costs precisely $0. That might have been on E&E's channel (I watch so many scammer videos that they all kind of run together in my head).
    These jerks are shameless. Where the hell did he come up with $102.86?!? Did he just pull that out of his ass?
    Also, the FBI released a report the other day that said Americans lost $300 million since 2013 on tech/IRS scams from India. That's pretty crazy when you think about it.

    • @kronks4
      @kronks4 7 лет назад +2

      oh yea. although finally indian police are cracking down on this issue. idk if you heard about a few of these places where the heads of these call centers were arrested. the reason why its so hard to shut these operations down is that you can set up and take it down in a day and move it.

    I would love to see a video of you call these guys back and tell them that you paid for service, and now it needs work under warranty. And see if they will try to charge you more money after you've paid for their so-called warranty. I can pretty much guarantee that they will try to scam you out of more money, and say that it's a different problem or something.

    • @somepersonwhowatchesandhas5198
      @somepersonwhowatchesandhas5198 7 лет назад

      I wouldn't say trap them, but instead, waste that scammer's time to make that a call wasted for them, and that one person in whatever little call center they're in is unavailable to take a call that'll actually be profitable, and then this also exposes the nature of these scams and the warning signs to make people more aware of these and be able to protect themselves from them. That's how I see it, anyway.
      And BTW, it's VMware he's using, not VirtualBox, but no big deal there really since Virtualbox and VMware do perform basically the same function, run a virtual machine.

    Why do so manny scammers even bother to deal with you after they found out you're using a virtual machine? Even in this video it's the first thing he did: checking out your computer's system configuration where it says "VMware" even with a logo. They just must know you're playing with them hence dealing with you steals their time .... and still they carry on with their script. I've seen this in many videos, not only this one ...

      This is obviously because about 3000 years ago, Indians were pre-programmed to just stick to the script no matter what. It's all there, in Chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita, "Hell Or High Water, Stick To The Script", right after Chapter 11 which teaches them the virtues of pronouncing "V" as "W" and Chapter 10 - How To Butcher The English Language Beyond Recognition.

    Why is it so hard for these people to admit that they're scammers? Or is it that they don't know what they are doing and are just obeying what they have been taught? Maybe they think they're actually doing something like helping people?
    I'm kinda baffled. And he's not even trying to return an insult, just keeping his cool.
    Really weird.
    Its almost like they're a legit hotline or something that on which they cannot swear to the customers.

    do more than one thing:
    clear your prefetch and disable it
    go to every serwice and set it to force enable as opposed to automatic
    hide or delete all system errors
    disable tree and make it say antiwirus isn't installed
    now they can't find a "wirus"

    lewis i gotta be honest with you, these videos are getting a bit stale now, a combination of a lack of energy/enthusiasm and the predictability of what will happen is just a bit boring imo

      I concur. Mainly I watch these videos for the malware or windows 9 type of pranks, but this looks like a video we have seen a dozen times where he make the contact, he let them run the scam just to run his mouth using indian profanities.

      +Luke Gannon I kinda get where you guys are coming from however I would like to point out that one of Lewis' main priority is to create awareness around the scamming industry and the more wideos he makes the more awareness he creates whether they are the same wideo script or not. If he made onky one wideo like this and never made the same one again the concept would get lost into the abis of youtube. However I do get where yiu guys are coming from.

    I'm starting to wonder if some of these scammers have any idea that they're scamming people... I'm sure that any of them that are worth their two cents know what's going on, but if you sit a technologically illiterate person down and tell them the way to scan for 'wiruses' is... and then type in 'tree'... Scary thought, huh? That being said, I believe 99% of them know exactly what they're doing.
