I stopped goalkeeping a while ago and switched to a field player I know what it is like to be a goalkeeper , you can pull of 20 amazing saves and no one bats an eye , but if you make one mistake everyone loses their minds. That's why I have an awful amount respect for the goalkeeper in my team , and the ones who I will play with in the future
Strikers dont have as much pressure as keepers a striker can miss 1000 shots and no one would care and a keeper could miss one easy save and everyone goes crazy

Oh I am not the only girl who is playing at a goalkeeper😊 that's true a lot of people don't believe in you. I heard from a lot of people: oh you are a girl! Go dancing but don't play soccer! You can't do this. This is a sport for boys. I ignored that and never quit. No I am really happy that I didn't give up. Goalkeeping is my sport. It doesn't matter how much bad times will come! I won't give up!!! And you shouldn't do this too. Show the boys that you can be as good as them! Even better!!
If your teammates dont pat you on the shoulder and say "come one,its ok,you will save the next one" when you receive the stupid goal,change the team until you find that team
DailyGoalkeeper. THANK YOU. I've been going through rough times being a keeper. I'm short and have gained weight because of this. And i screwed up on a cross that ended up costing my team the state championship. I honestly was going to call it quits. Then I saw this video. I decided to keep going. The very next week. We defeated the team that we lost to in the finals, we defeated them on penalty kicks, I made the game winning save. Thank you so very much and please, please keep doing this.
Last year i was in a lower team. The other goalkeeper was in the first team cuz his dad works at the club. But what kept me going was that everbody said i was better then the other goalkeeper. I played a few games for that team when he was injured i stoppes penaltys, countless one on ones en distant shots yet i was not allowed te get in that team. I left the club and ppl are coming to be and say "you are that keeper dat was 5x better then the one in te first team" and that is the best feeling when ppl from differnet clubs know u a bit.
Oh yes that's true. My first team wasn't good. We lost every game. But one day we had a game against the best team in our group. I played in the goal and there were so many people who said to me: keep going! You keep your team in the game. I told someone you should count who much times they shoot on my goal. It was 42 times. We lose 6:0. After the game the trainer from our opponent told me: Be proud! You are the best player on the field! I was so happy😄 That was a hard time. No I play in a better team and we are fighting for our championship. I didn't give up! That's why I am really proud

Honestly I have just now discovered this, unfortunately my time as a goalkeeper is over, but just seeing that this channel is a thing makes me so happy- because every keeper should know that there are many other people that struggle as much as you do. When I was 6-7, I trained football/soccer. Everyone made fun of me because I wasn't a good goalkeeper, I stopped training. And now, i'm nearly 13 and after watching this video I will train again and never give up. Thank you for making this video.
Recently didnt make the Regional team, because i got slide tacked in the knee, and i was limping. I wanted to quit. I wanted to go home and hide from the world. I came upon this and i started to tell myself that next year i could do it if i wanted to be successfull just as bad as i wanted to breath. I started getting up earlier, reading soccer books in school, and spending every minute on soccer. I am going to a tryout to start over and show them who i am a goalkeeper and a person. As the other keeps missed 4 goals . I was in and I did my best and I saved more than 10 goals , and we actually won . From that game I am now the captain of my team . Coming from a goalkeeper, this is accurate. Everyone thinks it's easy to be a keeper. But when I miss a ball, my team mates get mad and say I should've caught it

Thank you for the video. As a female goalkeeper this helps a lot because I gain way more confidence to thrive. I lose confidence after the score on me because I'm judged by the parents and coach. I remember in a final in a tournament I made a mistake and scored on me and I was made the villain of the team just because I didn't block the shot. The coach went to a license course and told every coach : We lost because of the keeper. I got cut from the La Galaxy academy after 2 months of trying out, and felt bad not wanting to do anything. Then I saw this video. Thank you so much. Everybody hear me out :If someone is judging you or anything like that, use that to make yourself better and train hard to get somewhere and in the future know that those people will be WATCHING you on t.v. thanks

I'm glad that you have a strong mindset and that you keep on believing and working hard, many would quit if they were you. Thank you for this!!! Our team doesn't have very good field players and I made about 20 saves. But no one listened, or congratulated me. The coach blamed everything on me because I'm only 4'9. That coach got fired and now we have an amazing female coach. Well, that's my story
wished I had this Video when I was 16 and quit training after finally getting in the first team. I stopped at that time because my father died and it literally wasn't the same game anymore. Because he was the one anchor I had on the sideline every training and every match. It took me 6 or 7 years to touch a football again, but I gained too much weight, and all the hard training I put in as a teen was for naught. So for everyone who is thinking to quit don't do it, because it is much harder and hurts much more to hear from the people around you and from old trainers that if you hadn't quit you could have made it. And for everyone who thinks you started too late, let me tell you that I started when I was 13 and everyone was miles away from me, but I had fun and I didn't have a problem with putting in the extra work needed. Even in the offseason and on vacation I did train. To be fair my father saw my determination and he did even hire private trainers for me and that also helped a lot, and I mean a lot. So if you have the money try and find a good private trainer, it will help you tremendously if you put in the work. Sry for the bad English, not my native language.
I used to be a goalkeeper 2 years ago...and I'm not well trained..And one day, we had a game and we lose 7-1 from there I think I should stop being a goalkeeper and what made I very sad that my club found a new goalkeeper..and 2 days later..I noticed that my club had removed me...I felt very sad..from there I saw the video "never give up" and I started training and training...and nowadays, I found my new club and I made an incredible saves...and my old club want me back now..but I rejected...thanks mate for made this video

Kinda crazy but I’m a senior now. I first saw this vid as an 8th grader, and had no idea what I was doing. My coaches didn’t know anything about goalkeepers so a lot of how I learned was winging it. I like to think I’m fairly good now, but whenever I have a tough game my mind automatically remembers this video. There are certain parts that are ingrained in my mind like a mantra for some reason, and I’m grateful for that. So thank you
What do you do if ur coach is ussles for me i quit my team cause my coach litterly had 0 expérience for example in training us goalkeepers only play with each other he never gave us any advice and when match arrive same 0 advices how does he expect us to preforme

@@aymen6975 Honestly you kind of just have to roll with it and become your own coach. RUclips videos about technique definitely helped me, but the biggest help is actually playing in goal against field players. For me, my team was generally pretty bad and I was the only goalie, so during games I’d have tons of shots taken on me and a lot of one on one situations. It sucked at first, but I also think it’s what allowed me to progress since what I missed during practice, (my coach didn’t even have me play in goal during practice 💀), I could make up for in a game. So if you have friends or teammates, or even older siblings that wouldn’t mind shooting and playing with you, just get in the goal and play. Overall though, you have to become your own coach and not get yourself down when you fail. My rule of thumb when I fucked up was to be upset for 10 seconds, then figure out what I did wrong and work to fix it. You also have to keep your temper in check, especially when a coach gets mad at you for messing up. It gets really frustrating when they get mad at you for messing up things they never taught you. But there’s a balance of knowing that they probably don’t know what they’re talking about, and also taking some of what they say into account. Goalkeeping is really mentally taxing, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I completely understand having a bad coach ruining a sport for you, but I definitely think if you’re still passionate about it you can definitely make a comeback. Good luck

Im a short gk. I started playing as a gk few years ago. I feel like i have the potential to become a pro in a low league with low wages but im too scared to throw myself out there and show what i am truly made of. I am petrified of making mistakes. I stress and I'm mentally weak. It's very easy for someone to blame someone else's mistake on me. I pull off some breath taking 1 on 1s and diving saves but my lack if experience shines through. I hate to say it but I've given up. I hope you don't give up like i did. Show your confidence and passion. Be remembered.

I’m a GK for a team out here in arizona going into playoffs we are ranked 8th. We just beat the 3rd and 1st seed in the playoffs. I kept a cleansheet against the top ranked club in the league to send us to the finals. Never give up
I feel what he was saying when you don't understand until you are in there shoes. I was a striker until my team needed a GK it was super hard and now after three years of GK I have improved so much since my first game as a GK.

DailyGoalkeeper I train for 2 to 3 hours everyday in my front yard and I developed new skills everyday when I train and sometimes when I play and concede a lot I feel like I don't want to be a goalkeeper I want to be an outfield player like a striker or something but I will never quit from playing goalkeeper
Samy Raj Rad Ja It's normal to feel like switching position for an example, switching from goalkeeper to striker. If you feel that you would be better as a striker then you should give it a try and see how it goes, you can also learn new skills as a striker/outfield player and use it in your goalkeeping just like Manuel Neuer. Stephanie Mcfadyen Failure and mistakes is a part of success! In order to get better and in order to develop you have to fail. The most important thing is that you learn from your mistakes. The next time you step on field don't think about "what might happen" just go out and do your best, if you make a mistake so what, it's not a big deal just forget about it and continue playing. Tyler Ruqus I'm 5'5 and I'm short to many of my college teammate but I member the time I had to goalkeep cause our goalkeeper was injured so I step up I made a few saves but I was disappointed when I didn't manage to stop a penaltys I dove the right way but the ball was a few inches away from my hands.. but that game my team was proud of me

I'm only a 5 foot 6 goalkeeper at 15 and if I can grow just to 5 foot 10, I would be able to dive to the top corners like I always wanted to without a problem. At 5 foot 6 it's really difficult to dive to the top corner because you have to have the right jumping height and technique so you can make it. I make great saves at training sessions but when it comes out to the real game, I get nervous, especially when there are people watching the game, and I don't give my 100% instead I give out 60%. The only time I give out 100% is when my goalkeeping coach is watching me, but that rarely happens because he has a lot of training sessions in and out of the week. As a 5 foot 6 goalkeeper you are really vulnerable to getting lobbed so I also take 1v1s really slow and it helps.

I ignored that and never quit. No I am really happy that I didn't give up. Goalkeeping is my sport. It doesn't matter how much bad times will come! I won't give up!!! And you shouldn't do this too. Show the boys that you can be as good as them! Even better!!

And i screwed up on a cross that ended up costing my team the state championship. I honestly was going to call it quits. Then I saw this video. I decided to keep going. The very next week. We defeated the team that we lost to in the finals, we defeated them on penalty kicks, I made the game winning save. Thank you so very much and please, please keep doing this.

Last year i was in a lower team. The other goalkeeper was in the first team cuz his dad works at the club. But what kept me going was that everbody said i was better then the other goalkeeper. I played a few games for that team when he was injured i stoppes penaltys, countless one on ones en distant shots yet i was not allowed te get in that team. I left the club and ppl are coming to be and say "you are that keeper dat was 5x better then the one in te first team" and that is the best feeling when ppl from differnet clubs know u a bit.

Oh yes that's true. My first team wasn't good. We lost every game. But one day we had a game against the best team in our group. I played in the goal and there were so many people who said to me: keep going! You keep your team in the game.
I told someone you should count who much times they shoot on my goal. It was 42 times. We lose 6:0. After the game the trainer from our opponent told me: Be proud! You are the best player on the field! I was so happy😄
That was a hard time. No I play in a better team and we are fighting for our championship. I didn't give up! That's why I am really proud

Recently didnt make the Regional team, because i got slide tacked in the knee, and i was limping. I wanted to quit. I wanted to go home and hide from the world. I came upon this and i started to tell myself that next year i could do it if i wanted to be successfull just as bad as i wanted to breath. I started getting up earlier, reading soccer books in school, and spending every minute on soccer. I am going to a tryout to start over and show them who i am a goalkeeper and a person. Beautiful story , even I a keeps . One day I didn't save a goal we lost . Then I was become a substitute , that day was the best day . I was taken in the team again at the 2nd half . As the other keeps missed 4 goals . I was in and I did my best and I saved more than 10 goals , and we actually won . From that game I am now the captain of my team .

Thank you for the video. As a female goalkeeper this helps a lot because I gain way more confidence to thrive. I lose confidence after the score on me because I'm judged by the parents and coach. I remember in a final in a tournament I made a mistake and scored on me and I was made the villain of the team just because I didn't block the shot. The coach went to a license course and told every coach : We lost because of the keeper. I got cut from the La Galaxy academy after 2 months of trying out, and felt bad not wanting to do anything. Then I saw this video. Thank you so much.
Everybody hear me out :If someone is judging you or anything like that, use that to make yourself better and train hard to get somewhere and in the future know that those people will be WATCHING you on t.v.

Yessica Torres Thank you for the support, goalkeepers often get blamed for their mistakes even if it wasnt the goalkeeper's fault, it's sad but true. I'm glad that you have a strong mindset and that you keep on believing and working hard, many would quit if they were you.

Thank you for this!!! Our team doesn't have very good field players and I made about 20 saves. But no one listened, or congratulated me. The coach blamed everything on me because I'm only 4'9. That coach got fired and now we have an amazing female coach. Well, that's my story
wished I had this Video when I was 16 and quit training after finally getting in the first team. I stopped at that time because my father died and it literally wasn't the same game anymore. Because he was the one anchor I had on the sideline every training and every match. It took me 6 or 7 years to touch a football again, but I gained too much weight, and all the hard training I put in as a teen was for naught. So for everyone who is thinking to quit don't do it, because it is much harder and hurts much more to hear from the people around you and from old trainers that if you hadn't quit you could have made it.
And for everyone who thinks you started too late, let me tell you that I started when I was 13 and everyone was miles away from me, but I had fun and I didn't have a problem with putting in the extra work needed. Even in the offseason and on vacation I did train. To be fair my father saw my determination and he did even hire private trainers for me and that also helped a lot, and I mean a lot. So if you have the money try and find a good private trainer, it will help you tremendously if you put in the work.

I used to be a goalkeeper 2 years ago...and I'm not well trained..And one day, we had a game and we lose 7-1 from there I think I should stop being a goalkeeper and what made I very sad that my club found a new goalkeeper..and 2 days later..I noticed that my club had removed me...I felt very sad..from there I saw the video "never give up" and I started training and training...and nowadays, I found my new club and I made an incredible saves...and my old club want me back now..but I rejected...thanks mate for made this video

Kinda crazy but I’m a senior now. I first saw this vid as an 8th grader, and had no idea what I was doing. My coaches didn’t know anything about goalkeepers so a lot of how I learned was winging it. I like to think I’m fairly good now, but whenever I have a tough game my mind automatically remembers this video. There are certain parts that are ingrained in my mind like a mantra for some reason, and I’m grateful for that. So thank you

Honestly you kind of just have to roll with it and become your own coach. RUclips videos about technique definitely helped me, but the biggest help is actually playing in goal against field players. For me, my team was generally pretty bad and I was the only goalie, so during games I’d have tons of shots taken on me and a lot of one on one situations. It sucked at first, but I also think it’s what allowed me to progress since what I missed during practice, (my coach didn’t even have me play in goal during practice 💀), I could make up for in a game. So if you have friends or teammates, or even older siblings that wouldn’t mind shooting and playing with you, just get in the goal and play. Overall though, you have to become your own coach and not get yourself down when you fail. My rule of thumb when I fucked up was to be upset for 10 seconds, then figure out what I did wrong and work to fix it. You also have to keep your temper in check, especially when a coach gets mad at you for messing up. It gets really frustrating when they get mad at you for messing up things they never taught you. But there’s a balance of knowing that they probably don’t know what they’re talking about, and also taking some of what they say into account. Goalkeeping is really mentally taxing, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. I completely understand having a bad coach ruining a sport for you, but I definitely think if you’re still passionate about it you can definitely make a comeback. Good luck

Im a short gk. I started playing as a gk few years ago. I feel like i have the potential to become a pro in a low league with low wages but im too scared to throw myself out there and show what i am truly made of. I am petrified of making mistakes. I stress and I'm mentally weak. It's very easy for someone to blame someone else's mistake on me. I pull off some breath taking 1 on 1s and diving saves but my lack if experience shines through. I hate to say it but I've given up. I hope you don't give up like i did. Show your confidence and passion. Be remembered.

I’m a GK for a team out here in arizona going into playoffs we are ranked 8th. We just beat the 3rd and 1st seed in the playoffs. I kept a cleansheet against the top ranked club in the league to send us to the finals. Never give up

DailyGoalkeeper I train for 2 to 3 hours everyday in my front yard and I developed new skills everyday when I train and sometimes when I play and concede a lot I feel like I don't want to be a goalkeeper I want to be an outfield player like a striker or something but I will never quit from playing goalkeeper
Samy Raj Rad Ja It's normal to feel like switching position for an example, switching from goalkeeper to striker. If you feel that you would be better as a striker then you should give it a try and see how it goes, you can also learn new skills as a striker/outfield player and use it in your goalkeeping just like Manuel Neuer. But whatever happens, don't let setbacks and mistakes stop you from going after your goals and dreams!

Stephanie Mcfadyen Failure and mistakes is a part of success! In order to get better and in order to develop you have to fail. The most important thing is that you learn from your mistakes.
The next time you step on field don't think about "what might happen" just go out and do your best, if you make a mistake so what, it's not a big deal just forget about it and continue playing.

I'm only a 5 foot 6 goalkeeper at 15 and if I can grow just to 5 foot 10, I would be able to dive to the top corners like I always wanted to without a problem. At 5 foot 6 it's really difficult to dive to the top corner because you have to have the right jumping height and technique so you can make it. I make great saves at training sessions but when it comes out to the real game, I get nervous, especially when there are people watching the game, and I don't give my 100% instead I give out 60%. The only time I give out 100% is when my goalkeeping coach is watching me, but that rarely happens because he has a lot of training sessions in and out of the week. As a 5 foot 6 goalkeeper you are really vulnerable to getting lobbed so I also take 1v1s really slow and it helps.
