Dazz, I was thinking that wind might not only affect pink pikmin; but, it could also affect ALL pikmin when thrown. The wind could blow pikmin off course when their thrown, requiring the strategy of knowing the proper direction to throw the pikmin to attack/grab items. The wind would affect pinks, yellows, & whites more than any other pikmin; while purples would be unaffected thanks to their weight & homing! ;D
I think that wind may in some cases be a positive element. Remember at 6:44 ? You thought that there may be a type of catapult in winter areas. What if some of the heavier pikmin fall short? My idea is there will be wind going in the same direction of the catapult every few seconds and with proper timing that may help the pikmin get across.
Volcanoes!! What about Volcanoes! They would be awesome to explore if only red Pikmin (and maybe rock and orange). I want to see a volcano or at least lava in Pikmin 3.
I think in rainy weather in a few areas could have giant rain drops falling down (but with a shadow to warn the player) that if it would hit the Pikmin they would suffocate if the cap doesn’t whistle the Pikmin in time
Oh yeah! I thought I forgot something... I guess pink pikmin would be the only ones immune to it since they can fly.. This could also make things crash to block paths etc.. Maybe this causes the rockslide...
If weather, natural disasters, and seasons gets added in Pikmin 3 (There's always updates and DLC), Winged Pikmin would be almost USELESS in this game! xD
I guess that's true..but it could also make the game balanced since purples were definitely overpowered in Pikmin 2 so if they can't get to places often the game isn't too easy
Wind alternatively could be beneficial to pink pikmin as in (given the right direction of the wind like in LoZ Wind Waker) they can glide farther and get whatever you collect in this one where normally they can't fly far enough.
Miamoto was interviewed by rolling stone and he kept talking about the THREE captains that you van switch between so I think your right about Character D being scrapped
here are my thoughts of weather (every type of weather makes more powerful pikmins) sunny:makes much of the aquatic enemies disappear, have a probability of setting on fire pikmins (except red), makes red powerful, water level descends(the next day the map will be normal) rainy:powers up blues, water level rises, more aquatic enemies, have a chance of having drowning pikmin(except blues[by drown i mean the water drop that appears on their leaves]) the next day some parts of the map will still
Heres an interesting idea: Radioactive Storms. in Pikmin 1, Olimar had a ship part that measures Radioactivity, and it was almost at max. of course, Whites would be in their element, and maybe have a large buff, like 2X more power than when they're in sunlight!
I think that in snow and winter, Pikmin will be slower because they're cold, but in groups they are not as cold. Cyan Pikmin could have fur and be immune to these effects, as well as help other pikmin. In heat waves and summer, Cyan Pikmin would be super slow because they're the hottest because they have fur, while other pikmin other than Reds would also be slow but not as slow. In Spring and Fall, everything could be normal, but Fall would be a bit colder so the Pikmin would be a little slower.
Oh god, I hope that's not the reason for it.. But, now they've mentioned the exact release date, I'm pretty sure they will stop accepting my ideas (if they ever did) so I think I'm free to make ideas now. "A delayed game is eventually good. A rushed game is forever bad." - Shigeru Miyamoto
PART 2 If the tree is big enough with different paths it could be really fun to explore, especaily at high elevation. I can also imagine areas of the tree being infested by shearwigs causing a deadly outcome. Anyways thats my idea. On the weather note maybe the normal days (wether it be sunny or cloudy) could be more common than specail weather days. Also can you imagine if swarms of deadly flying creatures similar to wasps came on certain sunny days? The weather idea is really great though.
I think they will probably ad weather, if they didn't pink pikmin would be easily fly resources across every obstacle without a problem. And all those weathers would make pink pikmin not over powered or the most useful. And weather may make collecting resources really hard but when a sunny day appears you will be able to restock resources.
I'd love to do that, but we have near to no info. So I expect I'll do one in the future..but not right now. Hopefully the next E3 will reveal enough for me to speculate over stuff :)
If this video was implemented to PikMin you would be able to view the weather in certain places so if you needed rain or ice you would have to have a wild goose chase
I'm pretty sure that white pikmin would be the best for sandstorms, because of their eyes also they can detect hidden treasure under the sand. Just a suggestion
My ideas for Pikmin 5. First idea: Two different story modes with different captains. Second idea: Dangerous Weather's could be added in to make the levels hard. Third idea: New Pikmin type, Light Blue Pikmin ability immune to affects that could freeze you and your pikmin. Fourth idea: Post game for the two story modes. Fifth idea: New and old bosses could appear in the two story modes. Sixth idea: Mission mode, Bingo battle, and a new mode Pikmin racing where you play as a pikmin. That's all my ideas I have for now.
I have another idea. If hail was added the glass in the captains' helmets would slowly be breaking FORCING you to take shelter or retreat in your ship. There might be like a timer in the top right of the screen or something. You could take shelter in over hangs or under cliffs or something. For sandstorms what if it was like one of those things were you have to run away and there would be a timer. If you were caught in sandstorm It might count as a game over. Just and Idea.
because in Pikmin 2 there are more days that you can spend in Pikmin 3 if you decide to collect all the fruits the usual days would be shorter than Pikmin 2 because you have to survive with juice that you have
Dazz I have 3 ideas 1 maybe the green pick min could see invisible pickmin and treasures 2 maybe cyan pickmin are only out at night and can only bee seen when u have a green pickmin with u 3 what if the cyan pickmin could iceskate which makes it easier 2 cross the ice
What if on sunny days you could make certain crystals break and they would magnify the light and start fires, or at least get rid of certain obstacles, hay, ice, snow, etc.
Also Cacti-Pikmin could have a ranged attack by launching their needles at nearby enemies (scince you would not be able to pick them up or throw them) they would probably require a specific upgrade/captain/Pikmin (mainly rock) to pluck them out of the ground
I can picture the ship saying "interesting! The pink Pikmin won't get out of their onion! Is this because of the rain?" Also it would be cool if the bosses weren't alway evil. For instance, you somehow befriend Mr. Mawdad and he can plow through that rockslide we keep foreshadowing. Maybe a new type of Pikmin can be friend him! That would be legit.
hey mr dazz I have a idea for the yellow pikmin on sunny days it might make some of theme star siting around enjoying the nice day and try to climb trees or grass and wont listen sometimes to the whistles and in a storm envirment yellow get struck by lightning they become super charged pikmin and do lots of more damage but sometimes get out of control
A weather condition could be Drought where if not all most of the water is dried up and wolly wogs are forced into hiding .reds are also stronger and maybe the blues are weakened or slowed down
If there are areas, like ice that will break if you bring heavy pikmin across, that you then can't revisit until certain events happen again, then, since this game is going to have a time element, I assume you could only make a certain number of mistakes without going over your time limit.
I have some ideas for Pikmin 4 weathers Rain-all Pikmin are slower except for Blue Pikmin Snow-buries treasures/fruits and Cannon beetles are The snow cannon beetles for example Thunder-happens at the same time of rain(sometimes)it kills any type of Pikmin except for Yellow Pikmin it also destroys enemies Tornado-throws Pikmin in the air. only Rock and Purple Pikmin can stand it and no Pikmin can get lost I don't really know what to call this one-it's so hot ONLY red Pikmin can be out
Dazz, if you have access to some sort of Microsoft powerpoint you could definitely paste the image and go to format and click remove background. It would make your pictures look a thousand times better! :D Thank you for your videos; they are awesome!
They wouldn't give the brand new pink pikmin that many disadvantages. Seeing as most of the weather conditions argue that pink pikmin would be unusable, it wouldn't make since for them to be introduced in a game that they aren't going to be able to be used that much.. If weather conditions are used, I doubt that they will be very extreme.
I think night should bring out nocturnal creatures. During the night nocturnal creatures would start waking up and they would be more deadly then what where used to. and creatures like bulborbs would roam instead of staying stationary. As the night went on its should slowly get harder to survive through more and more enemy's coming in from the sides of the map and you'd eventually just have to much to handle. I think every area should have different nocturnal enemy's as well. that would be cool.
My ideas #1 whip tounge bulbords would have a disadvantage in winter ares if u dodge its toung and it hits ice cuaseing it to get stuck x3 2# for the thunder storm will cuase the map to be dark and youll have to use the lighting flashes at your advantage. 3# captains wouldent have an effect on sandstorms cuase they have helmets #4 if its hard to see enemyies during blizzards/sandstorms captains would have an outline device such as the one in halo odst to see enemies much easier.
I think that in a windy environment purple pikmin would be at a huge advantage over enemies because many of them would be blown around and if there were leaves they might not be able to see. Maybe the captains could have an infrared scanner to see. Also, since rock pikmin didn't get sucked up in the tornado like storm from the bat-thing in the dark area, I think that rock pikmin and purple pikmin might be able to survive tornadoes while pink pikmin and yellow pikmin would be the main victims.
Wait, if night is apart of the day, maybe while you're exploring around at night, maybe you find a Glowing pikmin! Maybe the Cyan color could be a glowing affect and an ice affect! That could be the two powers that the Cyan Pikmin could have! (PleaseRespond)
what if the orange had squinty eyes so the sand storm wouldn't do anything, which would make them able to see in the dark and when it's night after the rockslide, it makes them stronger. and the cloudy days, them being under a cloud shadow might make them a bit stronger.
your ideas are good but i think the map changing drastically as you said is a little too much but the natural disasters would be great if an enemy cause them as the cave moth thing made a tornado
maybe only one part of the game has a time limit and then weathers come in EXAMPLE maybe in the game hocotate has a food shortage since the game seems to have alot of food and in the winged pikmin footage you briefly scan/lock on a nut so you need to get enough food in a certain amount of time before everyone starves but once you get enough maybe u get seperated from the ship and need to make your way back with the pikmin and that is where weathers start happening
What if with ice there is a limit on how many pikmin can be on the ice at a time without the ice breaking? Purples count for 10 pikmin instead of one, like usual.
Dazz, I think we need to think more nintendo logic. Basically, simple and crazy logic. I cant see enemies kicking leaves or blowing them on purpose, but I do think that it could be like, when it follows you it could accidentally hit leaves into your eyes. Im just saying try to be simpler
I've noticed you're adding more visual imagery to your videos, Dazz. I think it's awesome! I know it takes longer, but it really makes your videos higher quality. Keep it up!
I have a thought! What about the Smoky Progg from the first Pikmin? It's an alarmingly tough monster and only ever appears once in the game, making no appearance in the sequel. The bonus enemy real says that it's: "Thought to be a malformed larval Mamuta." but the egg is bigger than the Mamuta, so that can't be right. So what if there's a different creature that the Smoky Progg came from? If the Smoky Progg wasn't fully formed, I'd hate to what the adult is! Possibility? ^.=.^
Originally it was planned for the 3DS but it was found the screen resolution and size was too small and the amount of data needed would not be big enough. I'm always in favor of a console game that will provide more data meaning a longer game overall and better content.
I really hope this isn't added as it would make the game WAY too hard since there will be a timer. What if you had to take down an electrified wall when it's raining and its the last day? What if you need to get something underwater when it's a blizzard?
wouldn't rock pikmin be immune to sandstorms?also you forgot about fire enemys like the Fiery Bulblax, they could get weaker in the rain/snow and stronger in the heat wave.
Here are my thoughts Cloudy=No change Sunny= %50 speed and strength increase in all pikmin Rainy= %100 Taller water bodies and -%50 strength in pikmin Snowy= Frozen water bodies and -%35 strength in pikmin Thunderstorm= Lighting bolts, bodies of water eltericut you if you touch them if lightning stikes the water, and %125 higher water bodies Sand storm = -200 strength in pikmin + instant degrade to leaf pikmin and orange is immune Night= burbolbs and can see the captain twice as far and faster.
you talked about how orange pikmin would be immune to explosions but yellows in the first ones already do that. I think yellows would be the pikmin for that in 3 if explosions weee brought back.
What do you mean? Pikmin 3 or weathers? Pikmin 3 will certainly be on the Wii U (no others can handle it's awesomeness) and the gamecube games of Pikmin 1 and 2 just had sunshine and darkness in the Forest Naval. I guess the wistful wild and awakening wood had a tad bit of wind since you see they leaves fall at the beginning of the cutscene when you fly in...
The rain you don't need to talk about. There is rain in the final release of Pikmin 3. However nothing happens, the rain is just merely a cosmetic effect
There's not much to work on with bosses yet.. :/ BUUT I do mention a couple of ideas for bosses in this one ;) Still, when more is revealed, I'll make a boss video :D
(part 1) hey dazz can you make 2 theories, one of which is about how all creatures, tresures, and ect that were left their turning super sized possably from after leaving earth to the new earth (mars/satern) that was found it had life and oxygen, then informing everyone to get the nearest space ship with anything your bringing because their not coming back, years later something disasterest happened to old earth and all the plants oxygen were gone but everything is still there but it's all..
I was thinking, instead of overhanging growth to stop Winged Pikmin, why not wind? The Pinkmin could be blown off in other directions and every other Pikmin, except rock, gets blown when thrown. Other than smashing crystals, there hasn't been a point in Rock Pikmin, not really, but this could make them the only Pikmin easily-usable in certain areas.
PART 1 OF LONG POST Wouldnt it be cool if in pikmin 3 the lay out of the enviornment plays a much bigger roll, what I mean by this is there could be something like a large (or normal sized for us) tree that you can find a hole or something in and climb, reaching giant branches and new enemies. This could also bring the use for pink pikmin, to fly across branches to retreive stuff or what not. Who knows why you would be on yhe tree but there are many possible reasons. READ PART 2
I had a terrible(deadly/annoying) idea for enemy... remember the waterwraith? what about... a firewraith? or a lightningwraith? or a poisonwraith? maybe we can have another enemy that has taken the form of a captain and tries to command pikmin against you. maybe their would be bosses that you defeated but they ran away that would work with you to achieve a goal because maybe there was a rock-slide that separated them from their family that they were originally protecting from you
Ok heres something. What about a tital wave or a whirlpool. Picture at a random moment when the rain just starts pouring down, and the place just starts filling up with water, and you would have to use all blue pikmin in the situation. And here is an idea for a pikmin. You said there may be a night part. What if There were black or gray pikmin that get more violent at night and are able to fend off nighttime enemies? Almost like using spicy spray on a pikmin.
If this was even in Pikmin, you'd need some sort of weather chart. Could you imagine going into an area to get that last treasure only to find out you have to wait another day because of something you can't control? Me neither. That's why we need a weather chart. I also feel like sunshine should just be an ordinary day. And seeing how you make pinks literally useless in almost every scenario, we would probably have to make them better to avoid making them useless. I also think that a few of these scenarios are some of the worst ideas ever. Some only have one pikmin available, and others have zero! Another thing is that the breaking ice sounds like an annoyance more than a fun mechanic. None of these events should have long term affects. I really want weather in the Pikmin series. Just not in the way you made it.
What so you just want aesthetics like rain is in Pikmin 3? (Slow claps) you are so unique in your ideas. So unique that it makes me say wow in amazement. Wow.
I have an idea. When it rains, only blue Pikmin will be able to come out of their Onions, since it's water coming from the sky. There will only be any normal enemies and water enemies and no electric or fire enemies. I think it's a good idea.
Sweater Penguin AJ but blue is the last pikmin you get, and it's been raining ALOT through my game, so you're saying that if I only have reds, rocks, and yellows, I couldn't use them. I would have to journey alone.
I was watching a pikmin 2 video and I noticed something... The reviewer mentioned that is you go to a certain place on a certain day a random dweevil would appear. maybe this is the case is for weathers...?
These should have been put into Pikmin 3. *sigh*, oh well. Here's hopes for Pikmin 4!
TheGaminRaven rain was but it didn't do much except make it more beautiful
TheGaminRaven Always
Definite hope nowz it's going to come out soon :D
Volcanoes!! What about Volcanoes! They would be awesome to explore if only red Pikmin (and maybe rock and orange).
I want to see a volcano or at least lava in Pikmin 3.
What, why did people think there was an orange pikmin
I think in rainy weather in a few areas could have giant rain drops falling down (but with a shadow to warn the player) that if it would hit the Pikmin they would suffocate if the cap doesn’t whistle the Pikmin in time
Oh yeah! I thought I forgot something...
I guess pink pikmin would be the only ones immune to it since they can fly..
This could also make things crash to block paths etc..
Maybe this causes the rockslide...
nintendo need to hire you dazz
If weather, natural disasters, and seasons gets added in Pikmin 3 (There's always updates and DLC), Winged Pikmin would be almost USELESS in this game! xD
People's ideas are truely brilliant, great to see so much creativity!
I guess that's true..but it could also make the game balanced since purples were definitely overpowered in Pikmin 2 so if they can't get to places often the game isn't too easy
Also in Heat Waves and Summer, they are even slower in groups because they are hotter.
Wind alternatively could be beneficial to pink pikmin as in (given the right direction of the wind like in LoZ Wind Waker) they can glide farther and get whatever you collect in this one where normally they can't fly far enough.

rainy:powers up blues, water level rises, more aquatic enemies, have a chance of having drowning pikmin(except blues[by drown i mean the water drop that appears on their leaves]) the next day some parts of the map will still
I can see that rain can make it a bit more damp so it be a bit harder for other pikmin to move around... though this would be pretty big in MB
Heres an interesting idea: Radioactive Storms. in Pikmin 1, Olimar had a ship part that measures Radioactivity, and it was almost at max. of course, Whites would be in their element, and maybe have a large buff, like 2X more power than when they're in sunlight!

Sunlight can't really help since pikmin go in caves and I think it would be neat to have the final boss be at night

I have another idea. If hail was added the glass in the captains' helmets would slowly be breaking FORCING you to take shelter or retreat in your ship. Pikmin 3 was so short compared to Pikmin 2.. D:
+MortimerTheMortified much longer than the 1st one
No, not really
MortimerTheMortified Ya... Hopefully Pikmin 4 Is Longer...
I mean if you really think about it Pikmin 2 is kind of longer than Pikmin 3
because in Pikmin 2 there are more days that you can spend in Pikmin 3 if you decide to collect all the fruits the usual days would be shorter than Pikmin 2 because you have to survive with juice that you have

If there ever is an orange Pikmin, it should get stronger and faster based upon the position of the sun.
hey mr dazz I have a idea for the yellow pikmin on sunny days it might make some of theme star siting around enjoying the nice day and try to climb trees or grass and wont listen sometimes to the whistles and in a storm envirment yellow get struck by lightning they become super charged pikmin and do lots of more damage but sometimes get out of control

Wait just 1 second if the captains are 1 cm tall and pikmin smaller then woudnt rain like oblitrate all your pikmin in 2 drops
I have some ideas for Pikmin 4 weathers
Rain-all Pikmin are slower except for Blue Pikmin
Snow-buries treasures/fruits and Cannon beetles are The snow cannon beetles for example
Thunder-happens at the same time of rain(sometimes)it kills any type of Pikmin except for Yellow Pikmin it also destroys enemies
Tornado-throws Pikmin in the air. only Rock and Purple Pikmin can stand it and no Pikmin can get lost
I don't really know what to call this one-it's so hot ONLY red Pikmin can be out
The last one is heatwave.
Dazz, if you have access to some sort of Microsoft powerpoint you could definitely paste the image and go to format and click remove background. It would make your pictures look a thousand times better! :D Thank you for your videos; they are awesome!
Easily your greatest video to be ever made.

That's probably the single greatest fan suggestion I've seen for the Pikmin series. O.o You just gained 83 Genius Points.
Originally it was planned for the 3DS but it was found the screen resolution and size was too small and the amount of data needed would not be big enough.

Here are my thoughts
Cloudy=No change
Sunny= %50 speed and strength increase in all pikmin
Rainy= %100 Taller water bodies and -%50 strength in pikmin
Snowy= Frozen water bodies and -%35 strength in pikmin
Thunderstorm= Lighting bolts, bodies of water eltericut you if you touch them if lightning stikes the water, and %125 higher water bodies
Sand storm = -200 strength in pikmin + instant degrade to leaf pikmin and orange is immune
Night= burbolbs and can see the captain twice as far and faster.
Hell yeah 17 minutes of Dazz.
That may be a good explanation for them saying "3 Captains".
you talked about how orange pikmin would be immune to explosions but yellows in the first ones already do that.
I guess the wistful wild and awakening wood had a tad bit of wind since you see they leaves fall at the beginning of the cutscene when you fly in...
even the thought of a wollywog boss gives me nightmares....
The rain you don't need to talk about. There is rain in the final release of Pikmin 3. However nothing happens, the rain is just merely a cosmetic effect
Sunlight can't be that helpful since pikmin go in caves all the time
wait in a heat wave wouldn't reds be at their strongest because of how intense the suns rays are?
There's not much to work on with bosses yet.. :/
BUUT I do mention a couple of ideas for bosses in this one ;)
Still, when more is revealed, I'll make a boss video :D
(part 1) hey dazz can you make 2 theories, one of which is about how all creatures, tresures, and ect that were left their turning super sized possably from after leaving earth to the new earth (mars/satern) that was found it had life and oxygen, then informing everyone to get the nearest space ship with anything your bringing because their not coming back, years later something disasterest happened to old earth and all the plants oxygen were gone but everything is still there but it's all..
Oh dazz, youmsaid in one video that orange pikmin could be ressistant to sand, well maybe theres some kind of desert and they could have sandstorms!!
He says "What's up guys? It's Dazz here, but you don't really care!"
Pink pikmin can fly in rain
I was thinking, instead of overhanging growth to stop Winged Pikmin, why not wind? The Pinkmin could be blown off in other directions and every other Pikmin, except rock, gets blown when thrown. Other than smashing crystals, there hasn't been a point in Rock Pikmin, not really, but this could make them the only Pikmin easily-usable in certain areas.
The Orange pickmin could have a special glass thing over its eyes and have webbed feet for quick sand
READ PART 2
During a hurricane.... Say goodbye to your yellows.
I had a terrible(deadly/annoying) idea for enemy... remember the waterwraith? what about... a firewraith? or a lightningwraith? or a poisonwraith? maybe we can have another enemy that has taken the form of a captain and tries to command pikmin against you. maybe their would be bosses that you defeated but they ran away that would work with you to achieve a goal because maybe there was a rock-slide that separated them from their family that they were originally protecting from you
great logic and video, I cant wait for this game! :D
What about earthquakes? Maybe they could cause rockslides and reveal paths, maybe orange pikmin could survive in hail due to their shells.
I really hope that happens! Because that would be awesome!
(bonus)."like" the lilie pads that bring you somewhere.
Mumkhar The Homs look you cant control your self either you traitor #dundun told you#
What so you just want aesthetics like rain is in Pikmin 3? (Slow claps) you are so unique in your ideas. So unique that it makes me say wow in amazement. Wow.
+Chance Lhotka but a Game has to be FUN remember that is the main reason why we play games
the intro is absolutely frightening
Dazz, if rain is in wouldn't it have the same affect of the monsterpump? you know the treasure from pikmin 2 the titan dweevil had.
Rain was implemented but unfortunately not the other ones, all hail the pikmin 4 ideas
BUT it didn't affect anything.
Although... you definitely should do a lets play "Hint Hint"
I would love to see night in pikmin 3 it would be awesome!
The Waterwraith would be just free kill to rock pikmin in ice areas.
My fave video that dazz made.
+1 sub to dazz :)
i think wind should throw off your aim when throwing pikmin, especially yellows
With this idea, Purple Pikmin wouldn't be able to reach areas %40 of the time.
It'll be up in 6 hours :)
The bulbear freaked me out at the beginning of the video
hmm maybe during rain the bulborbs would wake up and attempt to escape the rain
I was watching a pikmin 2 video and I noticed something... The reviewer mentioned that is you go to a certain place on a certain day a random dweevil would appear. maybe this is the case is for weathers...?
I was just thinking about weathers when played my SSBB again recently. if the rain at least isn't in the game, Nintendo made false hope.
