  • After being away since March 2020, the newly refurbished footbridge at Pembrey & Burry Port Station has been re-installed overnight. In this video although the footbridge is not yet operational, we look at some of the finer details of the bridge, and 150229 arriving and departing with the 09.04 service to Manchester Piccadilly.

Great to see the bridge back Bob. It looks fantastic. It puts the rest of the station to shame. With the weeds on the platform. Thanks for posting. Best wishes C&A

Nice to see the bridge back Bob to complete the scene there. It's nice that NR care enough to restore these fine old structures

It certainly is Austin, we nearly lost it forever a few years ago, but local opposition saved it.

You seem to be bringing back lots of memories for me lately Bob, this was 1965, Off the James bus and across this bridge to work, it always seemed to be raining! Another interesting video, thanks

It always amazed me Peter how on Earth the drivers on the James's buses used to take them over the Railway Bridge, past Josephs the Chip Shop and around to the back lane to their stop, without any assisted steering back then....Happy days.

@@robmasterman I might have my buses mixed up Bob, by 1965 I tbi k they were South Wales Regents, but I much preferred the red on the James buses

Sets the place off well, and it's an essential component of a through station.

It's been there for so many years Chris, it just didn't look right without it.

Glad you at least got the bridge back before you lose the semaphores Bob. It is a shame that the appearance of many stations seems of no interest to NR...... They are obviously waiting for you to form a 'friends of' to keep it tidy!! Best Wishes, Brian.

Thanks Brian, I read today that it may be many more years before these maunal boxes are closed, which is great news.....Best wishes...Bob

It certainly is, thankfully there are few passengers travelling on them during these difficult times.....Thanks for watching.
