Only because you asked... personal opinion. Hate it. The colors are just two different from top to bottom, and the white just seams like a random after thought. Still love the video!!!!!
Totally agree on some many levels. The whole paint scheme just don’t add up in my eyes! But hay, if he luvs it, then it’s a win!! Now for what I do like is the thought and presentation of a cheap way to paint a truck!! Does make one go hummmmmm!
I like how you recovered the lifting it looks great the only thing that is throwing it off is the white border but great job . Love your channel. Thank u
I watched the start of this on the second channel and the lack of sanding and etch primer seem like the biggest factor here. I'm no painter, but I've yet to watch someone skip those steps.. I mean except here, lol! Great video, always entertaining.
I painted a lot at a machine shop, it's sorta hit or miss. Some paints are meant to etch themselves into an existing coat after some light scuffing, but I don't think he's using that. If unsure, prime it.
I've been waiting sense I saw the first part of this on the other channel, I think it looks great, I love the way it sorta looks 'patinaed', goes with the vibe of the truck.
WOW - I felt SOOOO bad when it lifted like that. Unfortunately we've all been there when it all goes wrong. But you did a good job with what you had. I actually really like the stripe in the middle, with pinstriping it will look like it was planned. Its an awesome truck, can't wait to see it all striped and done.
Ford has the easiest detachable quick release tail gates so if rocks and stuff get wedged the gate just pops off instead of bending or denting everything. It’s super easy to remove and put it back on
The side shot is badass and I think the pinstriper can tie everything together if he's as good as you say. Now I can't wait to see what the pinstriper does! 😁
I think you did a helluva job saving the paint. It may not be your original vision but, it still looks pretty damn cool 😎 love the channel, looking forward to what's next 👍🤘🔥
Casey does the lace paint, CORRECTLY, in an old vid. It looks amazing and I will definitely try in the future. With the spider web style lace, my spidy sense tells me
Fogging the edges and tapelines is an easy way to add detail. Airbrush makes it fun and easy. Nice job, I like it. Willingness to jump in, balls first is a great way to learn new stuff.
Since you asked, I thought it looked pretty damn nice with just the tractor enamel 😁 ... That said, I'll wait to see what it would look like with the pinstriping before making a final judgement Respect to your endless enthusiasm!
I've had problems in the past in using a kerosene heater like yours while painting, it introduces hydrocarbons through the air into the paint, as if the air/ oil separator in the air line wasn't working well.. not sure this applies to your situation here, but hopefully this helps somebody.. love the channel, party on!
I love the channel even got a couple items off merch but I gotta say even tho I’m no pro I would think the lack of “prep” caused the lifting lol still loving how the project is turning out
I do a ton of "custom" paint work on smaller parts (like custom built and painted headlights) with spray cans for like 11 years now. Blows peoples minds when they find out its with cans and not air brushes lol. But, to avoid that paint lift/wrinkle, you either have to wait like 2 weeks for the paint to fully cure (but even then I have had the paint still wrinkle a little bit) , or if you don't have the time, like I never do, you spray what ever it is (usually clear does the lifting) in super light coats, giving like 2 min between coats. Hold the can back like 12-16" and lightly fog it in 1-2 passes. Then wait. Takes a while, but it comes out like glass every time and never wrinkles the paint. But the second you get impatient and rush it, bad stuff happens....
I like the patina to salvage that horrible pealing, but I agree it looks too camo! I think if you matted it out but kept it glossy and pinstriped on the roof and side ‘white windows’ that’d look dope
Can't lie, I am not in love with it. I am impressed with the results though. If that makes sense. I would patina the whole thing after the pinstriping. When you mentioned "an old lace job" I had hope it was gonna turn out alright.
you need to let your paint completely gas out before adding a clear coat. you also need to lay the clear in several very light coats. this is what works for me.
I think it’s cool I see a few comments hating but I think it looks different and that’ll make it stand out I also think the best videos are when stuff doesn’t go as planned and seeing how you adapt to the situation
If I recall you can't put laquer over enamel. Something like that, I usually just try not to mix the two because (clearly) I always forget. You might have already said that in the video I have not got there yet. I would HATE to find that out after spraying lace, damn.
Honestly I'd say redo the roof. I think i know what you were going for and should do that. Plus no on the fake patina on the cab roof. Cant wait to see the shop truck finished!
I don't hate it, but the paint treatment did give me the idea of doing a custom lace top like that, but done completely using the same paint and patina effect that you used on the rest of the truck.
If I remember correctly, the reason those Ford trucks are always missing their tailgates is mainly because of theft. They are so ridiculously easy for anyone to pop off and steal. The mount also rusts out on the gates. Now, I could be wrong, but that's what I remember hearing.
Well to be honest they also have a bit of an issue with using them as a loading platforms. Ask me how I know; snowmobile into the bumper hey that was an expensive day.
I have mixed opinions. I think it looks cool as hell, but I also think it contrasts too much with the patina on the rest of the truck. Maybe if it were more of a matte finish than a gloss.
Otherwise man I love all your videos and your body swaps never seen anything done like that you and your dad seem to have a great friendship makes me wish mine was still alive even more good luck and be safe on all your projects that you are doing..!!!
Hey! I think you will like the paint much better if you darken the white or get rid of the white all together. The gold tinge of the roof is nice but the contrast of the bright white to the rest of the truck is what’s making it look off. Dan.
I love to hate it. Laced gold on green patina, I’m thinking it’s a swing and a miss. Maybe paint a shop logo on the truck door could tie the top and bottom together?
You know the final result doesn't look as bad as I feared it would, but it's not my favorite. I would have gone with white and a root beer brown for the roof but hey, not my truck! I do think you did a great job working around the problems.
I think the lifted paint needs to be sanded through and made the look old and not covered up with clear so it has that more natural older feel make it feel like an old lace job that has been in weather
I had the same paint reaction happened to me when I was younger painting, a lawnmower I used oil base paint, and a lacquer clearcoat and it messed it up pretty bad but I’m sure you’ll find a way to roll with it
I can see that non of y’all in the comment section have ever painted a car. The paint peeling is a tragic moment and it would take it out of moist of y’all for the rest of your lives.
I’ve had problems with those turbo cans , bought 6 of them for a project and only 2 worked decent. Cans kept plugging up and spitting all over the place and one can didn have enough compression to push out paint .
Love the truck but me personally I would've painted the top matching green and then let your pinstriper go crazy on it and also I think you should hand brush paint your Caseys Customs logo on the doors like the old days just an idea
Great job, but the top looks too new/shiny compared to the rest. Making it look like a 70's lace job sounds like a great idea. I also think a black base on the top would've looked bad ass would've matched the wheels.
I like the idea. But with the rest of the truck patina it feels too finished to me. Color combo is a little off to me as well but some pin stripe might bring it back together. Otherwise fun to watch the process and good job on saving the paint job.
PLEASE LIKE THE VIDEO EVERYBODY!!
Did it, stop yelling! fistpound
@@Supertech-86 SORRY!
@@CaseysCustoms OK!
SAND IT DOWN LOL. I’ve always wanted to see a patina low rider
No I hate it to much I physically can't like the video
Only because you asked... personal opinion. Hate it. The colors are just two different from top to bottom, and the white just seams like a random after thought. Still love the video!!!!!

id say go back and just do another coat of the white and leave it like that, looked really good with the white top actually
Love the truck, love the tailgate..... that came out great.
Hate the roof.
I like how you recovered the lifting it looks great the only thing that is throwing it off is the white border but great job . Love your channel. Thank u

Awesome looks like my 80’s mullet need some Judas Priest and or Molly Hatchet rocking the background. Love your stuff
Glad you where able to recover! Looks really good.
I think you did a great job of salvaging a jacked up paint job. I think it looks good!
Man buddy that truck would have looked sweet all white in that tractor paint with some of the lacing done in Black to match the wheels
Il love the roof job, think it's really cool, I wouldn't make more patina personally, but pinstripe would definitely be insane
I don't know how you keep from doing the whole truck like that it's bad ass I love it
Finally, I've been waiting for this video to see the results of the roof! 😁👍
I've been waiting sense I saw the first part of this on the other channel, I think it looks great, I love the way it sorta looks 'patinaed', goes with the vibe of the truck.

Looks great , you should keep that middle line on the rook , I like it . Cant wait to see how it looks after the pinstripes
You should do a panel around the rear glass. I like the direction it's going .
I love it.. i like the lace work wouldn"t change anything
I love the lace work. Will look better when it's pinstriped.
He’s coming tonight!
@@CaseysCustoms Excited to see how it turns out bubba !
Definitely looks like an early 70's bad acid trip.
It’s starting to look really nice now I like the patina look
Ford has the easiest detachable quick release tail gates so if rocks and stuff get wedged the gate just pops off instead of bending or denting everything. It’s super easy to remove and put it back on
You should have your pinstriper do a Casey Customs on the doors of the truck. Or maybe your logo.
You made me discover the lace paint technique. Never even thought how it was made. 👍👍
Dude that truck look good the roof came out perfect I think the Pinstripe going to bring it's out a whole lot good job
The side shot is badass and I think the pinstriper can tie everything together if he's as good as you say. Now I can't wait to see what the pinstriper does! 😁

Now i aint so nervous about doing a lace roof on my grand daughters crazy coupe!
I think the paint looks pretty cool. I think you should make it look like the patina continues onto the roof. It needs to look old like you said.
Fogging the edges and tapelines is an easy way to add detail. Airbrush makes it fun and easy. Nice job, I like it. Willingness to jump in, balls first is a great way to learn new stuff.

I saw most of this on the "extras" channel. I want my money back! 😁
Wait till the sun hits it! Awesome work Casey!

M clear coat white pearl over the entire top would look pretty sweet
I love the channel even got a couple items off merch but I gotta say even tho I’m no pro I would think the lack of “prep” caused the lifting lol still loving how the project is turning out
Or all white with the blacktop with white lacing in the black and then throw some black pinstriping down that would look sweet

Love your videos my dude!
That was awesome 👍, love it that's badass
Id get pinstripes done then satin black the truck, spray bed liner in bed so can use it. Make interior comfortable but useful drive it

Especially since the enamel hadn't even cured yet.
Im 50/50 on it. I think the pinstripping will make me like it. Good job either way.
You got me Jonesing for a 70's F250
i love it i want to get a 1971 f100 now and since its my birthyear.
I think it looked better when it was green like the rest of the truck. The shiny yellow and the faded rusty green are just too different.
Honestly I'd say redo the roof. I think i know what you were going for and should do that. Plus no on the fake patina on the cab roof. Cant wait to see the shop truck finished!

Square body chevys a twice as easy, you don't need any tools to remove a square body tailgate, but you do with fords.
Well to be honest they also have a bit of an issue with using them as a loading platforms. Ask me how I know; snowmobile into the bumper hey that was an expensive day.
Maybe the tailgates wore out first from the Fords being pushed so much 😂
They were an option for a while.
I have mixed opinions. I think it looks cool as hell, but I also think it contrasts too much with the patina on the rest of the truck. Maybe if it were more of a matte finish than a gloss.
I dig it I can’t wait to see the pin stripes on it
Looks good 👍
Great video, but the gold color feels weird. But, it’s not my truck lol, and I don’t have that kinda talent so I can’t really complain.
Woooo, was starting to get withdrawals waiting for this video.

Not a big fan of lace but I think with the paint lifting it actually made it work perfectly with the patina of the truck. 😎🇺🇸
Looks Great! Are you going to change your intro with your new shop truck soon? I seen where your old shop truck is on the way to it's new home.
That is a Very Sweet! Paint job..the top just needs a bit more green..js
Love it!

I love to hate it. Laced gold on green patina, I’m thinking it’s a swing and a miss. Maybe paint a shop logo on the truck door could tie the top and bottom together?
Looks pimp mang , pinstriping will make it really pop 💯✊🏻,, trucker Marc kingman az
Should have just left it white and sanded some patina into that
Too bad about the paint lifting, made for a unique look in the end and makes for interesting video. I see you putting covers over the mustang!

Oh good grief, Casey wearing pasties. Now I've seen everything!!!! 😅
I was just keeping the sand paper handy!
I had the same paint reaction happened to me when I was younger painting, a lawnmower I used oil base paint, and a lacquer clearcoat and it messed it up pretty bad but I’m sure you’ll find a way to roll with it
You should paint the bumps on the side to match the roof I think it would make it cooler
I have a paint stand just like that
Like it. Make the rest look like the top. Same patterns and colour please. Thx.
Casey needs a paint sponsor. I’m thinking rust oleum turbo cans.

It reminds me of a call of duty camo skin. 😂
Ok now i like it 🤣
@@CaseysCustoms when you said you were going to go play video games I knew you were a real one. 😂
Quick question, why use those turbo cans when you have a proper sprayer?
Great job, but the top looks too new/shiny compared to the rest. Making it look like a 70's lace job sounds like a great idea. I also think a black base on the top would've looked bad ass would've matched the wheels.
The reason you never find them with tail gates is because they have turned them into bench seats hahaha
Pin Striper to the RESCUE
I think a paisley lace wouldve been a better fit. And ya that center line is rough. Love the colour of the pearl clear though
Fabricators never make mistakes, we just change our minds😆
Now it just needs a landscaping company name on the door, a Mexican flag license plate, and a rack with some rakes, hoes and leaf blowers.
I like the idea. But with the rest of the truck patina it feels too finished to me. Color combo is a little off to me as well but some pin stripe might bring it back together. Otherwise fun to watch the process and good job on saving the paint job.
Get you a tail Gator lock for your tailgate 😅
It will be saved with go crazy pin stripping bring it on
the blue should have been green
