Definitely agree with keeping these machines original especially if they are in as good of condition as these. My dad bought one of each year of the 250r quads brand new and he only lightly rode them up and down the road very so often but most of the time they were stood up in the building as show pieces. I still have the 1987 red and white 250r all original down to the tires. There is a Kawasaki tecate 250 three wheeler in very good condition in my area for sale now for $3500.
Another machine that was an icon and a blast to ride is totally moddable with the big bore and piston kit is the Honda 400ex. They are monsters and affordable right now. I had mine bored out toa 426 with a stage 2 hot cam. I called it the "Hemi Honda"
I’ve got a 1987 moto 4 225 that I bought from a good friend of mine shortly before he passed away from cancer. He bought it new and his son rode the hell out of it for years then it got parked in the barn and didn’t run for nearly 2 decades. I got it home and went through everything and got it running like new and drove it over to my buddies place and man did he smile when he seen that thing cleaned up and running again! That was probably 10 years ago now and both my kids have now grown up learning to ride on that old devil!
As I was growing up my dad worked in a Suzuki/Kawasaki dealership in Oklahoma City and I was always blown away by seeing all those brand new machines on the showroom floor.

@@thedadsz28 The word TRI literally means 3 (wheels in this case). The Banshee replaced the Tri-Z in 1987 and the Blaster came out in 1988. You may have had a 1985-86 Tri-Z with a 4-wheel conversion kit installed.
