@@Jamestube8439 Just wondering, thought that would've been the answer to it having no Hold position. Maybe Off doubled as Hold considering there was in-car Bypass at one point, but that type of FS is super rare nowadays that I myself haven't seen in any elevator before (the kind that's less than 70ft where the Phase II keyswitch was unused I have seen but never in action).
@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n Yeah this was Otis' older version of fire service, which happened to be very similar to US' which you can see on DieselDucy's US fire service video. It's a good thing that Otis improved their fire service operation otherwise if it was still like this, it would be unsafe
@@Jamestube8439 Exactly. They still use this style in Australia. With their Phase II you close the doors by turning the key to Start until it’s fully closed. There’s no Hold position but there’s also no Call Cancel or Bypass/Reset positions.
That’s cool. I find service modes very interesting
Nice
At the end of this video if the elevator machine room is open can you please show
us inside of it?
I always do if it is open. And actually tomorrow's video (goes up at 4 PM eastern) has an open machine room in it.
OK sounds cool
I should have done that when some Otis guy was fixing the service elevator in OC at the carousel
You might get lucky some time again. Be sure to ask and be polite explaining your hobby.
The non-hold position might be like the Elmwood Garage before its modernization.
It’s very similar and you’re right.
Nice demonstration
Thank you. Glad you liked it
Where was this elevator located?
Main Street plaza Rochester hills Michigan I have flimed this elevator before check it out on my channel.
No self promoting on my videos please.
Do you have your own elevator keys?
Yep those are mine.
Any chance you could do a fire service demo on a Dover/Thyssenkrupp Impulse?
@@Ih8kone Maybe in the future some day. I do have a 330A fire service video I need to post some time. Maybe later today
Did you try registering a call on the second floor with the Phase II switch off?
No why?

@@Jamestube8439 All very true. Plus Call Cancel was a good move. Not sure where the idea for fire cabinets in modern elevators came from.

I don’t know why some phase 2 elevators don’t have a hold for some reason
I think there was a time in the 80s into the early 90s where a Hold position wasn't required.
@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n oh never new that
@@noahharris2260 That’s just a guess though, which is why I said maybe.
@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n oh ok lol

It’s older
