Sly Stallone also did a movie in Dubuque at the old Dubuque Star brewery (I don't remember the name of it ATM).
Great video !!!!!!

BTW, where, in Iowa, can I find all yellow sweet corn? It seems like everyone is just selling the peaches and cream sweet corn. I do prefer the all yellow sweet corn, it's the best.
Hmmm. Have you tried some local farmer’s markets? You would have several options from various vendors that way!
Have lived in Iowa my whole life, most of it in Cedar Rapids but now in Vinton

Iowa fun fact #1 enjoy 85° one day wake up the next with a snow storm and 10° temps or really -15° with wind chill, Iowans call this March and April. Fact #2 I-80 is not just the name of the interstate but also the speed at which everyone will be driving

Hello, i am looking to move to Iowa by April 2024 with my girlfriend with our 2 girls. One is 9 months, and the other is turning 7. We have been dping research to see where to go and have been seeing conflicting information. We are looking to rent somewhere by Des Moines or surrounding areas. Would love some more insight. We want to rent a house instead of apt but don't know if it would be difficult for us renting due to alot of the state being home owners.
Hi. Thanks for the comment! You should be able to find a house to rent. There are typically a variety of housing options for rentals…depending upon budget, of course.
Considering moving to Iowa for my 57th job this year :) Hope I can live next to a big pig! Wish me luck. 🐷
Lmao! We have like 4x as many pigs as people. You can definitely meet one :) hit up the state fair, or cattle congress.
The world's largest truck stop! How cool! What a fun video idea.
Lol! If you need to stop for gas, you might as well do it someplace interesting! 😁
Cold Turkey was filmed in Iowa.
The truck stop is right next to my school
So, do people who live in Walcott go there very often or nah?
@@EmilyFarber honestly i dont think so the foods not the best compared to other places but once in a while we go to the mcdonalds but thats about it
#11 Ben Carlson is from there and people tell me I'm weird all the time.
Aww, honey bun! I’m sure you’re delightful :)
We love bacon and corn!!!!
Great facts, but what makes them weird? I would note that something a little weirder might be Grant Wood's American Gothic painting doesn't show a farmer and his wife. The two people in the painting are Grant's sister and his dentist.
The lore of the painting is it's a farmer and his daughter.
Don't forget the bat monster thing
Lol! What's that? I don't think I've heard that one...
@@EmilyFarber the van meter monster
born in iowa raised in clinton
I have some cousins who live in Clinton!
Is Alice, Iowa still considered a town?
It’s recognized by Linn County and people live there, so I’m gonna go with probably.
Iowa is a conservative red state now thanks to the people electing our Great Governor Kim Reynolds who gave us constitutional carry and in November 2022 Iowans unanimously voted in favor of our state becoming A 2nd Amendment sanctuary state to be added to our states constitution and many other Conservative laws that's why I support Kim Reynolds
be careful at world's largest truck stop, it's a big spot for human trafficking
That’s something I often worry about at truck stops. Thanks for the reminder!
Here's a weird fact about Iowa: I'm a Floridian and my wife a Southern California gal. We are setting our sites on retiring in Iowa. Never been there, but it's where we wanna be.
Go figgur.
IOWA is become far-right political belief zealous ! I know, I live there 40 years.
Music to my ears .
Do you know my dad he is a famous related
No? Famous related to who?
I noticed all the ladies mostly wear short hair. Why is that? Beautiful hair but super short!
Thank God pigs don't vote, I don't want to be bacon... 😂
Nothing better than a BLT, pork tenderloin, sweet corn, ice cream, steaks, fried chicken, maidrites, etc... heck we have it all!
I thought we also had not only the largest nickel but largest cast iron skillet...
Also don't forget we produce a lot of yeast, maybe the most, in all of USA if not the world. And Quaker Oats and Capt Crunch and more made right here in river city.
Lastly we produce more corn than all of Mexico, more soy than anyone else in USA, 1/3 of ALL US hogs, 1:5 of all US eggs, and highest graduation rate, 90%. And is also been ranked as the most American state by at least two groups on states. Various other things too...
but none of this is weird I am sads now
Hmmm…That’s weird. I’ll have to try harder. 🤣
