OLD LEATHER SMITH here, very nice Don, when I started they didn't have stick petal lifters, mine R handle petal lifters, I also use a hair blade 2 give the flower the natural look, I do most of my flowers in 3d, I REALLY APPRECIATE what U just showed 2 me, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
hey Don, new subscriber! do you have any tips on setting the height of your swivel knife? you seem to have yours very high up, just wondering how you came to that size and what the benefits might be of adjusting it to be so high. thanks! also you mentioned a peter main carving spoon in a previous video, do you know what might make his tool so special in terms of the shape? i plan on finding something similar (like a clay carving tool) enough and modifying it to match peter main’s shape since i doubt i could get an actual one of his any time soon. thanks! liked/subbed
How do you stabilize the leather while using both hands to tool and pound the tools ? Isn't it harder to tool with your left hand? Is it possible to use your dominant hand to tool?
For the next tooling series can you do something out of the box like the alien from the Predator movie or Yoda or Groot from guardians of the galaxy movie
A geat marketing idea for Barry is to assemble the stamping tools you use and sell as the Gonzales Stamping Tool Set.
I know I would buy a set
it would be cheaper for the customer though to just buy the tools that they need, instead of a pack that has something that they might not use often.

Sorry if you have already said this previously, new to channel. Is there a starter kit you would recommend for tooling floral, feathers and such?
