Nice video keep up the great work. i wish I had the opportunity to be around such amazing firearms. My wife made my dreams come true on my birthday this year with a surprise colt single action army made in 1882. I have had alot of Italian replicas of colts and Remington. But there is something so special about holding the real thing and just wondering about its life.where it went and the things it witnessed. You are a lucky man to get that same filling on so many guns
Congratulations on your First Generation Colt! Be extra nice to your wife. Yes, I am very grateful for the opportunity to see and handle these historic firearms. While our video series focuses on some of the guns in the collection with a verified back story, I also appreciate those where we can only speculate about their history. Every firearm has a story. Sometimes we don't know what that story is.
I have an original 1875 Remington in 44-40. It's my favorite of all my guns! Much more accurate than my colt saa Fyi...During mfg of Uberti 1875/1890 replicas ,they originally had the retaining pin at the end of ejector tube...just like the originals, but someone thought it was easier to just put the retaining screw on side of frame like a Colt...most likely to cut down on production costs.
The barrel length is 7.5 inches. Some were made with a shorter barrel, 5 /4 inches but these are rare. The 1875 Remington was available in three calibers, .45 Colt, .44-40 and .44 Remington Center Fire. The Museum's revolver is .45 Colt. Thanks for watching our videos.
Can someone explain to me how the base pin is retained? The Uberti replicas have the push button like the later Colts but I don't see that on the original Remingtons. Thanks
I apologize that we have not answered your question. The pandemic has put a wrench in the works and I have not had access to the collection since March.
These revolvers are always a treat to see being talked about! With the handling of an 1858, but with the operations of an SAA! Absolute treats!
What a beauty. I definitely prefer this over the colt. (Design wise)
Thank You, Great video. 1875 Remington is my favorite of the "Old West" revolvers. Uberti Makes a pretty reproduction I had to have.
Thanks for this series. I hope that Wyoming keeps it's Old West heritage which includes these iconic firearms.
An engaging host and interesting subject piece - thanks.
Thank you. I obviously enjoy sharing my passion with others.
You make it come alive! Great job.
Wow. Great video thanks God bless.
Great story and presentation Evan 👍

That's a good idea, I should autograph the grips
I enjoyed this video. I would’ve liked to learn the caliber, barrel length, and etc.

Enlisted personnel are all too often totally ignored. Yet, without them, nothing could be done.
any military service records for Trooper Ryan ? Were personally owned arms carried on duty by the soldiers ?
Ok, so what's the serial number? You're killing me! Btw, cool series, keep it going.
wow beautiful
Caliber?

Walter, thank you for your question. We will have an answer for you shortly. We will need to pull the Remington from the vault and take a look.
@@wsmvolunteers8588 Thank you!
@@walterbeech9690 The 1890 is essential the same gun but without the rib under the barrel.

Walter Beech Duelist1954 has detailed comparisons of originals and Italian clones.
