Hi , Nice repair . The reason why you should always disconnect the battery is because when welding on a car if you don't disconnect the battery it damages the alternator . It possible could also damage some the the electronic components on modern vehicles . So , when welding with the battery connected you need to replace the alternator afterwards . So , always disconnect the battery . 👍
If you took that floor liner up it would reveal a horror show. Water will have come through the arch and trapped underneath unable to dry out. You will be welding the floor next to the wheel arch and behind next, get some sheet steel ordered 😂
@@richardburns1287 thanks for the comment, the lady I done it for is planning to rip up the floor to insulate as they are doing a camper conversion. I did say the car needs a good under seal now to stop the car from Deteriorating further.. I agree though there will be some out of sight areas that probably need addressing .
@Razcal_Worx yes I've seen it all before and done it including footwells unfortunately. Several times. I had a 150 I think it was, L711XUY then a fabulous 190 banana manifold semi high top V686ELD for 8 years 👍
@ thanks for the input , I will pass the info on the the owner to make sure they have a good look when taking the floor up.. maybe more work incoming then 🤷🏼♂️🙌🏻

@@peterminton8105 hey man thanks for the reply, I thought it had something to do with trying the ECU.
Nice job. Best to nip it it in the bud early with transits.
