The radio stations in the US stopped playing her newer songs in the mid 00´s but in Europe she was still a big name on radio stations years afterwards. And also the radio stations only play new music from younger artists in todays industry. Madonna has said that she a long with other singers suffers from ageism in the music industry because after you reach your 40s and 50s you then (from the radio and medias point of view) is not that relevant anymore. Which is shocking when you see how many singers has been influenced and copied Madonna afterwards. So, yes she still sells out all her concerts on her worldwide tours that still breaks records, but in terms of radio play she is not up there where she belongs. However she is still The Queen Of Pop and no one can take that title away from her. :)

Yes. according to one biographer, she flew in for the awards just a few hours before the show. If she looks a little dazed and "out of it" she was exhausted from filming that went late into the prior night and then had interviews and such beforehand... and then there was the whole "married to Sean Penn" thing..

Man, I loved the style of her songs she did in the 80s in contrast to her electronic sound.
And you know what? I watched a video a few days back that Whitney Houston showed a lot of courtesy and respect for Madonna and read that Michael Jackson had respect for her too. So she could’ve collaborated with them which would’ve been so amazing. And so was Prince. So because Prince gained worldwide attention and fame in the 80s, that brought a whole slew of people to show dignity and pay tributes to him, so that would’ve made her to do either a pop song or a rock song with him which would’ve been really enjoyable for many people.
What an epic time in music history! I mean just get a load of the way that the artists and M.C.’s carried themselves and the classy killer threads that they wore. I mean just LOOK at Madge, she looks like a goddess! Ugh if I had a time machine. You just don’t see this class anymore, the clothes that the so-called “artists” of today wear are a pitiful disgrace. @@danwat1234 I looked under Madonna's wiki page and it's listed there under awards and nominations. On the actual American music award page it says that category was only in existence from 85 thru 87. So Madonna won it the last year it was a category. It doesn't show who else was nominated

Madonna has had so many great looks, and this is one of them. She kind of looked like this in Who's That Girl, which was a funny film when she was acting like a female Jerry Lewis. For me, that was first aware of her in 1984, she just seemed so much more genuine to her true self here and in the rest of the 1980's. I don't know what happened with her marriage to Sean Penn (ONLY THEY KNOW), but something did as she seemed to lose her genuineness for me. Seems she re-invented herself so many times and look what happened when she suddenly adopted a BRITISH accent...and the big drop off in the quality of music didn't help.

Madonna of course dominated the 2000s, but Whitney had her personal issues. That's messed up to make fun of Whitney's drug issues, the woman lost her life because of that.
