The issue I’m having is getting that thumb tucked and all the way up to the B flat when playing the F major scale. Would you move your entire hand up on the keys when playing that scale?
I assume you mean for the RH? The RH fingering for F Major scale is 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4. So you won’t have the thumb on the black key (the Bb) in this scale. It will fall on C. FYI: the LH fingering is 5-4-3-2-1-3-2-1 Hope that helps!
@@josephirreraPiano thanks! No wonder it was hard, was doing it wrong 😅 Is that the only scale where you don’t tuck your thumb after the 3rd finger, with the RH?
@@andyscott5277 C major, D+ E+ G+ A+ all use the same fingering. F+ is the one joseph gave In the Db+ Gb+ (aka F#+) and B+ scales, use 234 (432 for left hand) and 23 / 32 fingering for the groups of black keys, with thumb in between. Eb+ it’s 3 for both hands on Eb, then 34 / 43 for Ab and Bb Rh: thumb on F and C Lh: thumb on G and D Ab+ is similar, both hands 3 Ab, then thumbs on c, both hands 3 on Eb. Rh: thumb on c and f Lh: thumb on C and G Finally, Bb+ Rh: thumb on C and f Lh: thumb on D and A Edit: its been multiple months since u commented idk why i decided to do this when you could find this online lmao
Amazing teaching! Thanks so much for that!
I like the magnet drill at 6:53.
Thanks for that info, teach some arpeggios techniques. That would be helpful!
He just did.
Thanks Joe. Very helpful

We generally avoid tucking our thumbs onto a black key if the finger we’re tucking the thumb under is on a white key. If avoidable.
