Pretty sure this is my fifth or sixth time watching this. This might be the best documentary in the bonsai world, ever. Won't be outdone simply because it comes from the golden age of documentaries and the end of the golden age for bonsai. Hopefully we start a new golden age here soon.
Thank you very much for posting this superb video. The person who made this video must be congratulated. I was quite touched. To think that this ancient, 7000 years old tree lived at the time of Mahabharata is mindboggling. Also, now I understand that bonsai is not only a science and art, it is philosophy also, and it is a reflection of life itself. My admiration of Suzuki can not easily be expressed with words. What a gentle, simple, great man he is! Yesh Prabhu, Bushkill, Pennsylvania
In a way, I'm glad he didn't win. His tree was too real. The tree won. The others, while quite lovely in their own ways, did look more artificial, capturing the aesthetics of nature while lacking nature itself. Well, I suppose they're all winners, but for different reasons.
Back again, ten month's later to watch the same documentary.... I think I'm broken. Just realized how wrong they are, its_notta_cedar. It's cryptomeria.

At one with. What a true Master…inside and out.
His outlook on bonsai is so inspirational
Goodness in dedication, passion and respect. We need more of this in the world today. Life is precious.
