I said it in my previous rant on this buggy, and I'll say it again here! This is going to be _the best_ *beast* of a speed-runner due to tighter tolerances/Corally quality, and its slightly larger size! Its overall stability will be much better at speed than anything else currently out on the market! (🔥Even those little "winglets" on top of the upper arms)
@@rcmakingtracks18Owning the Talion EXB, yes. If for general offroading. I'd take the Talion EXB with an 18t pinion and 4s dboots backflips lp always. The extra ground clearance is great. But if for speed bashing, and getting near those 80mph. The Asuga beats out the Talion EXB easily. Considering stock, the Asuga XLR just needs an 18t pinion, maybe you could squeeze a 19t. A motor fan and that's it. You have an rc that you can do some bashing and have insane speeds. With the Talion? Nope. You'll need to get some pretty strong motor fans. Get at 22t pinion and yet you still wouldn't hit 80. And all that, still risk overheating so better off getting a whole new esc and motor..... The Asuga XLR is a badass piece of kit
I put in the 46 tooth spur gear along with a 16 tooth pinion and used a zeee 6s lipo 6000 mah 50c and only got 70.4 mph on a 200 yard straightaway ? Ideas, suggestions? You got 79
thank you for taking the time to do these videos. Yeah bummer about the sound. I know it takes a lot to compile the videos and then even more time to edit them down. Really appreciate the effort! I just bought the Kronos. Haven't had a chance to get it out yet. But you were an influence on my car choice. Can't wait to let that thing rip!
@@JayTeeRC I got the XLR. I bought most of the components (motor, ESC and servo) early in the year expecting TC to do a 2023 Kronos. But then when the Asuga came out I knew they were not doing any updates. I specifically wanted an 1/8 scale because there are some people here that have a track. So when I heard the Asuga was like a “big” 1/8 scale I knew that was not the car for me because they wouldn’t allow it. Now I am seeing videos where the Kronos and the Asuga are next to each other and I sort of wish I bought the Asuga because it is actually smaller. Can you do a comparison video (like pros and cons) of the Asuga and the Kronos? I was sold on Kronos before the Asuga…now I think I need to be reassured I did the right thing 😅
Hi Jay do I need to do a radio calibration as shown on page 3 of esc manual ? Is there a 25 50 75 throttle adjustment on transmitter. I barely touched throttle and car went already pretty fast I l take it it takes a while to get used To the throttle Can I cut the black piece a bit before I put it in the antenna tube . The black piece is pretty long squashes down when you put on the plastic car covering
Hi Jay I just got the Asuga xlr. Antenna how much needs to be cut off it won’t fit when you put the body on nothing holds the antenna in it jus slides on correct
Don't cut it at all. If you cut it it'll shorten your range just tuck it into the receiver box maybe put a piece of tape on it to hold it down but do not cut it by any means
Hey Jay I just ordered a 18 tooth pinion but see now in user guide 18 tooth not recommended at your own risk . Is 16 tooth like the largest pinion you should use where both 4s and 6s are ok
Hey bud, what are you running for a cooling system with those big tires on there and an 18T pinion? I recently put bigger tires on my asuga and ran it with the factory 13t pinion and felt like it was hot. Didn't hit thermal cutoff or anything but just felt hot. I'm not sure what a reason temp is for the motor cause I'm still fairly new to the hobby. I am running a 40mm Rocket fan on the motor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍🤙
It was only set up to do speed runs to go back-and-forth down a street a few times and let it cool off. definitely would not recommend running it like this off-road with the higher gearing in it cause it will overheat
Can you run 18 tooth pinion on grass and asphalt without car heating up.? Or is 18 pinion just for speed runs? I’m a newbie I know 13 pinion is included what’s the biggest pinion you would put in this rc car to run on grass and asphalt . I probably won’t be using for jumps . Ok probably going to use on4s for a while until I get used to things . My real 1st rc car. Thanks Jay you’re awesome
Watching this video has made me order one. Is this stock electronics with just an 18t pinion on the motor? If so, this speed is truly crazy. Beyond enough for me. My Talion with an 18t and dboots backflips hit 64mph. Woweee 78mph on this buggy??? 🥵 scary fast speeds. I'll order a motor fan to keep temps cool
Looking good...and, that 6S speed is amazing. I'm actually starting to want one...but, before I can actually do that, I'd have to sell off 2-3 of my other RCs. As for "what you have planned", mind if I take a stab at it, and see how close I get? I'm not 100% certain, but, I believe the stock spur is the 52T. Also, your mentioned that the largest pinion that will fits with the stock spur in place is 18T. When you go to install the spool, I'm guessing you will replace the stock spur with the optional 46T, Which will allow you to install a 19T pinion (possibly even a 20T). How am I doing, so far? In going over Team Corally's optional parts, I didn't find any ring & pinion gears (for the front/rear diffs)...but, I might have missed them, or other R&Ps might fit. So, going down that rabbit hole, I suspect you might also be replacing the stock R&Ps with ones having a lower ratio. That's is the end of my 'guesses'.
Awesome 78mph!
Asuga is looking like a great all rounder and street basher.❤
Could even race it

4.5" tyres with 80mm wide road tyres - I know I have them too:-) Just I wish they make these in 3.8" size. Great video!

high 50s on 4s and 6s probably 70s if esc can handle it
