Bootsy is funk royalty! He played bass as a teenager with James Brown, then went on to help George Clinton create the P-Funk sound. His presence on this album is like Silk Sonic getting the opportunity to jam with and get a stamp of approval from a legend.
That stank, that funky look on his face when he listen to Fly as me, shows he's into it for sure! I always love the funk in this song, it's completely different than any other songs that I have listen to in years! This is album is definitely very soulful, funky, with 70s and 80s into it. I always love Anderson Paak's voice! He sort of reminded me of Childish Gambino but in his own flavor to it! He put more of a funky tone into his music and his instrument. This is album is just... STANK... FUNKY! This album hits it for everyone!

Don't miss Bruno incorporating James Brown iconic screams I heard it twice on this song Bruno always finds way to pay homage & a deep respect to all those that to this very day deeply inspire him. (On "Fly as me" ) There is so much on every song that are incredible & every time you listen again ahh there's something else so darn smooth Every song on this project you can't help fall in love with There are two that take me straight to the sky the moon That would be "Put on a Smile" & "After last night" All the songs are my favs but these two makes me feel like I am levitating But I love them all They worked so darn hard on this project This is why I never mind sitting back & patiently waiting for Bruno & now Silk Sonic to drop their projects It's more than worth the wait Bruno once said He knows it's complete when "it's the best I got" kind of tug at my heart how deeply he means it Now having Bruno & Anderson together what each bring to the table is beyond any way that I can describe & it's extra awesome bringing us all together after having a difficult couple of years & are able to leave all that & get lost in the music & lift all our hearts & that's just what they all hoped for Having Bootsie the king of funk with that smooth take you somewhere voice takes this all to a new level We need to be sure & give Bootsie his flowers now Babyface too

By far, this is the best thing to come out of the pandemic shutdown, no question, period point blank! If you check any interviews, you find out while many were hunkering down & bingeing, these cats were in studio grindin haaard! Put on a smile, is serious from 1st chord bruh! That drum I’m noticing I believe is an African talk8ng drum, with bending pitch.You cut into Bruno too much on that one though. 😅 777 is James Brown. Blast Off is stratospheric. Happy Trails baba!
