José Iturbi made three short films in the early 40's. Two of them, Albéniz/Chopin and Rameau/Liszt, were made for people who wanted to study his technique. A third one was made for the GI's in the American army and shows Iturbi playing a waltz from Chopin and a boogie woogie while he talks to a group of young ladies. The three movies are available on 16mm films.

I've watched several of his videos on
RUclips and I am so impressed with Iturbi's
articulation in runs and ornaments; so clean.
A true poet of the keyboard. Gotta love him.

I love this piece. It's always fresh no matter how many times I hear it -- I love best to hear it when it's played by Iturbi. Thanks for posting it!

His technique resembles that of his teacher, Wanda Landowska. It almost looks like he is double-jointed, as she must have been, but I can see he is raising his palm to increase the striking depth of his fingers as they drop.

Hola Maria. Mi abuelo, Armando García Sabater fue uno de los mejores amigos de Iturbi...y uno de los mejores afinadores de pianos de la historia de España. Eres de Valencia ?

Fabulous, stylish performance; too bad the recorded sound suffers from pitch waver and distortion. :-(

"The piano is a mechanical instrument, inherently less capable to render human emotions like the violin or guitar." ?! wtf?!
It means that you can't play the piano ^^'
