  • Norway and Sweden! Friends or enemies? Rivals or cousins? Are they really that different or not really? Let’s find out today!
    Norway 🇳🇴 VS Sweden 🇸🇪
    In this video 🎬🍿
00:00 Welcome to Oslo! And Stockholm
01:14 Coffee In Norway and Coffee in Sweden
03:31 Do Not Go Out in Norway or Sweden without proper clothing
04:53 Public transport in Norway and Sweden
06:39 Most popular chocolate In Norway and Sweden
06:55 Both Sweden and Norway: Do not think that you are better than anyone else
07:35 In Sweden: Don’t forget to pay your share of the tab when you go out
08:05 You Never Buy Round of Drinks In Norway
08:51 Queues in Norway vs Queues in Sweden
09:41 In Sweden: Never Talk About Money and how much money you make
10:10 In Norway: everyone know knows how much everyone else is making and money is one of the favourite topics
11:45 Never Be Late! In both Norway and Sweden
12:57 Always Take Your Shoes Off when you are entering the house: both Norway and Sweden
13:58 Sweden and Norway: strong English speaking countries
14:50 both Norwegians and Swedish people are so kind and friendly!
👉🏼 1 🇸🇪 Do NOT go outside without proper clothing
You will here it in Norway all the time! Do you want to experiment? Complain to any Norwegian that you are cold.. I guarantee the first thing you will hear will be ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes”
And then a typical Scandinavian advice: put some layers on!
👉🏼 2 - Think you are better than everybody else
Janteloven is a very important and unwritten law in Norway. It basically says ” You shouldn’t think you are better.” It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have self-confidence, it is more about don’t be cocky no matter how professional or rich you are. Norwegians don’t like people who brag
👉🏼 3 - 🇸🇪 Do NOT forget to pay your share of the tab
After a long work week, Swedes love to go out to a bar with their colleagues to blow some steam off on so-called AWs (After Works)
This will never happen in Norway as there’s no ‘tap culture’ there. Pay for your own drink and be happy
Just to let you know, buying a round of drinks for 4 people in Norway can easily cost the equivalent of a return ticket. From the US
👉🏼 4 🇸🇪 Do NOT cut in front of people in lines
Swedes have a weirdly strong belief in queuing up for stuff, and an even stronger belief in the sanctity of the line order. Cutting in line might be one of the rudest things one can do in Sweden, and will produce a strong reaction from those you have just cut in front of
🇳🇴 Norwegians view queues in much the same way as sprinters view the starting blocks. When waiting for public transport, a Norwegian stands in an orderly manner until the bus comes into view
👉🏼 5 - Do NOT ask how much someone is making
🇸🇪 Most Swedes would be absolutely horrified if you ask them directly how much money they make
🇳🇴 the situation is slightly bit different in Norway. It is considered impolite to ask Norwegian how much he earns
👉🏼 🇸🇪 6 - Do NOT be late (or early) to an appointment
It is pretty much the same in Norway. Punctuality is very important
👉🏼 🇸🇪 7 - Do NOT sit next to someone on public transportation if there's room elsewhere
    - I bet you took this one from your neighbours, guys!
👉🏼 8 🇸🇪🇳🇴 another common habit shared between Norwegian and Swedish - Take off your shoes inside
    👉🏼 BOTH SPEAK PERFECT ENGLISH
    👉🏼 BOTH SUPER FRIENDLY
    〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️

About, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes".
According to ChatGPT, it was first on print in Norwegian in 1864.
Written as "Der findes ikke daarligt veir, blot daarligt klæde".
Then in Swedish in 1902 "Det fins inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder".
This is close to how we say it in Norway today "Det finnes ikke dårlig vær, bare dårlige klær".
I think we can say for sure that Alfred Wainwright dit not come up with this saying.

Was concerned about the language barrier but was talking with the girl at the front desk of a place I was checking in to and asked her how long she had been in Norway, she had a British accent. She said she was born and raised in Norway, but watched a lot of British TV shows and English was taught in school.
For the vast majority of the time, was able to get by fairly easily.

I love both countries, maybe most Sweden, I do not see Swedes are envy to Norwegians, well they often makes more money, but it is much more expensive to live in Norway also. What we think about Norwegians is that they always sounds so happy like people from Gothenburg. We think are often little behind in trends, but that is not negative, just different speed of life maybe. (but better these days) I wanna say, we Swedes are very rarely tell jokes about Norwegians, but Norwegians are almost crazy about telling jokes about Swedes. Summer the other hand I like much better, not as cold, but rain and wind can make it really cold and uncomfortable, as Anna says in her videos, no bad weather only bad clothes, dress accordingly to the weather.
