I spent a month in Sweden when I came for a summer school. They gave us a month gym membership with a lots of classes. It ıs the reason why I started going to gym afterwards. I was walking to the classes and was eating a healthy bowl as lunch, it was cheapest and most accessible thing to eat. The student loft was so practable as well, I cooked a lot - which I haven’t done much in my dorm during the university. We partied almost every night during the month. I lost 5kg in that month without trying and spent the most peaceful month of my life. I missed it so much. No surprise that people happier and healtier there.

In regards to vacation, most Nordic countries it's actually legally required that employees take their vacations, as the employer can get serious legal trouble/fines if they don't. Most people get 4-5 weeks a year, and it's encouraged to take 3 weeks back to back in summer during June/July which is called "common vacation" or similarly named in each country.
My fiance is always talking about how he has vacation time he has to use up for the year. You'd never find that in America, companies advertise PTO and paid vacation as a job benefit. I love knowing that I can see my fiance for weeks at a time when I visit bc he HAS to take time off and use it up for the year. His employer tells him he's GOT to take vacation time bc he hasn't used enough.

To add onto the sidewalks (which, btw, rarely end in some nonsensical way), the city is very well lit. Something one can take for granted until you visit a city like, say, Strasbourg, which seems to half light or even barely bother to light many of their streets including the main ones. And with holidays, your employer by law (unless you have a collective agreement that says otherwise) has to let you take 4 weeks off in a row during June through August.
YES to two duvets!! I’m from a two duvet country myself and I’m always plunged into a deep sense of despair when I have to share a blanket. I cannot do it.

Stockholm has easy accessibility to nearly any kind of sport. They have a sportspark in Ladugård which is packed with dog walkers, runners, skiers, football, frisbee golf etc. They also have a lot of family happenings which gets kids into sports and activity at a very young age. Also, next time you're in town you have to go try the walnut bun at Fabrique. And maybe one of Jafar's donuts on Drottningsgatan (phenomenal, freshly baked). 😻
As a Swede I have learned a lot of things from this video but I would say that most gyms are very pricy since it is available to bike, walk, and or run for exercise because of the city structure and walkability.
Hi Keltie, I loved this video, as a video itself and the way you presented it. I am Hungarian and lived in Stockholm for 7 years - and I hated it so much that I literally got sick of it: cancer. It's beautiful and yes the parks and waters in the city itself are nice, the water quality is great and there are a few other positive points. However, actually living there year around when you come from another type of culture, is different. A girl from Canada with a typical Nordic look will not experience what a black-haired, tanned girl from more South and from an ex-Eastern Block country will (that time I did look like a Gypsy in the summer). But I don't want to go into this too much. It's enough to say that the lack of sunshine and vitamin D, the dark, gloomy climate, can be a huge stressor for those who can't deal with it by their genetics. I loathed the low energy vibes, the boredom, lack of social and cultural life, the "everyone for themselves" mentality, the "lagom" and the "Jantelagen" when you are not supposed to stand out with your clothes, thinking, behavior, mood, creativity, achievements etc. For me, everything just felt lukewarm and lifeless, compared to the majority of the countries in Europe. And there were a few more issues but this is not a place to talk politics and such. I escaped back to Central Europe where I like the vibrant life much better, but I know there are people for whom the Swedish slow-motion life and the physical climate fit perfectly, so it's great for them. For a short visit, I would go back every once in a while gladly, Sweden is an excellent photo subject. Oh, almost forgot: the extremely high amount of sugar they consume doesn't make them super healthy, though. Plus: "one of the happiest and healthiest countries on Earth" consumes a horrible amount of antidepressants as well.
Gréât vidéo!! lived in Sodermalm for 6 months - in the summer! I worked a corporate job and we had fresh fruit - for free! Everyday! And massage every week - for free! They explained also that every office has to comply with rules stipulating how much light there should be (a lot) and sitting positions, chairs desks, everything was tip top. And standing desks ( this was in 2003 when they weren’t a thing yet). It’s only recently I understand why they all stood up after lunch. Seriously healthy place. It’s the place I took up running after hating it for so long. The healthy bug definitely but me there. I lived in Paris straight after. A totally different experience 😅
I smoked four packets a day for several years. Then I quit smoking and started with snus. Like half a dosa per day. It's like a tenth the cost. Could have quit tobacco all together but wanted something to treat my self with still. :D
Oh my gosh this is so useful!!! Thank you so much, im going to try to incorporate more of these ideas/habits where I can. All the gratitude awesome lady! Thank you ❤

hahaha I just love your attitude 😂 I NEVER understand how couples can sleep with just one blanket. I am not sharing my blanket with anyone! 😂 We recently also got separate mattresses (still one bedframe though so we‘re not sliding away from each other) and the sleep quality is SO much better 😴
The healthy food in Sweden looks amazing! Would be great if you could get more in depth regarding average incomes, rent prices etc…into the nitty gritty
Man ,the work culture in the U.S. needs to step up. Or maybe a better phrase is chill out and shift gears. Rest really is vital for us as people but we're discouraged from it for the sake of being/seeming productive. For all the advances we're making in society, you'd think we'd take after Stockholm's example by now. Maybe some states are, but I don't know. Anyway, great video, Keltie!
I literally just commented the same thing! The work/life balance here is 💩. If you're sick they still expect you to come in. Most places make you feel guilty for taking a vacation YOU EARNED. If I was able to move to Sweden I'd be on the next flight 😂
I hope it does eventually change! Much better to give employees time to recover and relax so they can perform 100%… vs people working non stop for “productivity” when they’re all zombies at 50% 🥲
I have followed you for many years and it’s amazing that you are now making videos in my country in a city I have lived in. Just crazy when you think about it how you ended up in little Sweden 🇸🇪🙈 Loved the video!
Place to be at 30’th of April at 18:00 local time: Finland, Helsinki, Havis Amanda fountain. Dress in to warm but funny outfit. Bring your champagne 🍾 with you. The spring is here!
This is funny. My husband and I use different blankets at night. People look at us like we’re crazy when they find that out. It’s the best! I never want to share blankets again. Better sleep = happier couple!
If anything, this just shows that environment has such a direct effect on health. Half of these habits are not actually habits, they’re environmental factors that are not in ones individual control. Location is everything.
Small clarification: most jobs don't come specifically with massages for benefit, you get an allowance of around 3000-5000SEK (~$300-500 USD) per year which can be spent on any kind of health or physical activity. For example, gym membership, massage, spa day, ski passes, etc.... You just can't use it to buy physical items.
Alot of companies aloud the health money to go towards running/walking shoes nowadays, it´s loosen up alot. You can also choose to buy cultural activities now, like a seasonal theater pass, a membership with a cinematic club aso.
I do agree! I drink from the tap in Canada and honestly love the taste ☺️ but Sweden’s is just a little better ;) but Canada is still in the top in the world IMO!
13:25 lmao 😂> Best thing about snus in my opinion is that it doesn't disturb anyone. I remember back in the 90s in copenhagen, everyone smoking inside fast food restaurants and stuff, it was really something else.
Malmö and Köpenhamn are also very bike friendly because they have about 4 hills total. Compare that to gothenburg where its impossible to go anywhere without it being uphill The entire way both ways
I opted for separate blankets for me and my partner because SOMEONE (him) is a blanket hog and I needed sleep more than I needed a "neat" looking bed. lol. I highly recommend. But I might opt for two twin sized duvets so I can actually make the bed and make it look neater. Someday. But for now, we just both have our own regular sized blanket/duvet on a king sized bed. haha
Maybe it’s where I live but we have gyms really nice like that in the USA too (I live in Florida) and the prices are super reasonable. I pay about 35$/month for a great one. I love the amount of walking and nature there! Gorgeous
Welcome to my home city! Would be so cool to meet you if you ever come back here. Maybe you could have a meet-up with people in Stockholm, that would be so much fun. We could go to the amusement park Gröna Lund or something ❤
Living in Sydney we have alot of what Sweden/Stockholm has (healthcare safety net, loads of gyms, city parks and greenspaces and an amazing range of healthy food from everywhere in the world) but we also have hot summers, no snow and the best city beaches. Maybe visit us if you feel lie a beachy holiday one day xx
Hey Keltie! Love this video and learn more about how different places live. There is so much overlap between urban planning principles and the active community ☺️ hope you are doing well!
My best friend lives in Stockholm and it’s such an awesome place. I think what your saying it so true of Sweden from my own experience and what my friend says 🥰
I recently took a trip to Finland and Iceland for a month. I was so curious to why these two countries ranked top 2 for so long to be the world’s happiest country to live… yup the same reasons you mentioned in Stockholm Sweden. There are so many similarities to these countries and foremost important factor was government. I wish America would adopt some of the policies offered to citizens.
I live up in the north of Sweden and would love to try Stockholm for a few years but it's soo expensive compared to where I live now. If I get laid off I might give it a go.

I think there are a lot of similarities with European countries in general, specially Mediterranean countries...walkable cities, cheap gyms, protein and fat rich healthy foods, work life balance (holidays and midday breaks to have a coffee and something to eat before lunch) and overall their whole approach to food and social life. It is is so important...I think it changes completely how you relate to food and drink, and everything. It is like such an event...that helps you focus on the pleasure of it and enjoy it with people....like there's no need to overeat or binge or restrict. Food and free time and social activities have such a different connotation. And being outdoors plays a huge role as well
I love your healthy habits in Sweeden videos and gotta say that many of these things are probably common in Europe in general (except the vaping thing😂). I went to Copenhagen once and I loved it, I'm looking forward to visit Sweeden someday

I’ve always found it so interesting how non-Swedes that go to Stockholm say that there’s less stress. As a Swede who grew up in a smaller city (less than 100k people live here) I find Stockholm to be so stressful! Like I always wanna go back home after a few hours. Gothenburg is better but still stressful, I also prefer the people there, much nicer and friendly and less stressed out compared to people in Stockholm. Have you every considered visiting smaller cities in Sweden? ☺️
Hi! I am from Borlänge but I live in Kungsbacka and work in Gothenburg as they are cities nearby each other. You definitely should go visit Gothenburg. The atmosphere is so much calmer than Stockholm. Stockholm is actually my least favorite city in Sweden. But that is just MY opinion :D Running on the west coast is so beautiful. :) Love your videos. Bye
Welcome to Stockholm! All of a sudden you are in my neighborhood all of a sudden! Been following you for years and now you're here. Let me know if you want a tour from a resident. Kram!😍
Two duvets are also common in Germany. Having had to share I'm so happy this is a thing where I come from. I've always had my partners hog the duvet leaving me cold.
I drive to the store just across the street because there is no crosswalk and they just made the street 4 lanes with a 50 mph speed limit. You can't get across it and unless you walk more than a mile and a half down to the closest crosswalk, driving is the only option.
What city should I do next? 🤔

The way my eyes popped out me head when you sipped water from the faucet. I'm outside Atlanta. I would never. LOL
Your videos this year so far have been 👌😍
Can’t wait to watch this one!
- From a fellow Canadian who now lives in rainy England 😢
Music to my ears!! I’m loving the new series so much ☺️
As a fellow gloomy city living individual, sending you a little ☀️
Nice to hear that you like Stockholm😊 Im born in Stockholm and i love to live here👍🏻
Gréât vidéo!! lived in Sodermalm for 6 months - in the summer! A totally different experience 😅
this whole video just energized me
I smoked four packets a day for several years. Then I quit smoking and started with snus. Like half a dosa per day. It's like a tenth the cost. Could have quit tobacco all together but wanted something to treat my self with still. :D
I love your videos Keltie! Thanks for the content. I would LOVE to go to Sweden; it’s on the list for our family.
Nicely presented healthy tips from Sweden.
Oh my gosh this is so useful!!! Thank you so much, im going to try to incorporate more of these ideas/habits where I can. All the gratitude awesome lady! Thank you ❤
yo creía que el hecho de subir contenido seguido no era tan importante, pero me pone realmente feliz y me hace quererte más y apreciar más tu contenido el hecho de que subas tan seguido y de tan buena calidad!
The north of Spain (and Spain in general) has one of the greatest life expectancies in the world, competing with Japan. The way of living in the little town in the north is amazing! You should visit it if you can
hahaha I just love your attitude 😂 I NEVER understand how couples can sleep with just one blanket.
Just crazy when you think about it how you ended up in little Sweden 🇸🇪🙈
Loved the video!
Place to be at 30’th of April at 18:00 local time: Finland, Helsinki, Havis Amanda fountain. Dress in to warm but funny outfit. Bring your champagne 🍾 with you. The spring is here!
I' ve just returned from Sweden. Great country and great people. Will be back definitely.
Studied abroad in Stockholm and def my favorite city I've been to! This made me miss it even more!
This is funny. My husband and I use different blankets at night. People look at us like we’re crazy when they find that out. It’s the best! I never want to share blankets again. Better sleep = happier couple!
PS-I signed up for AG1-gonna try it!!
Mahalo for getting us extra 5 packs!🌺
Hi just wondering did you have to put a code in as I clicked the link but there was no offer at all cx
More Stockholm / Sweden content please! 🥰
If anything, this just shows that environment has such a direct effect on health. Half of these habits are not actually habits, they’re environmental factors that are not in ones individual control. Location is everything.
Finally someone! It's such a stable first world country like come on
Small clarification: most jobs don't come specifically with massages for benefit, you get an allowance of around 3000-5000SEK (~$300-500 USD) per year which can be spent on any kind of health or physical activity.
Hi from a fellow Edmontonian! I gotta say, I think our tap water is actually pretty good! ❤
I do agree! I drink from the tap in Canada and honestly love the taste ☺️ but Sweden’s is just a little better ;) but Canada is still in the top in the world IMO!
13:25 lmao 😂>
Best thing about snus in my opinion is that it doesn't disturb anyone. I remember back in the 90s in copenhagen, everyone smoking inside fast food restaurants and stuff, it was really something else.
Your drive and energy is infectious 🧗♂️🏋️♀️
Gorgeous
Keltie I just have to say your hair is looking so luscious! We need an updated hair care routine soon ❤❤
Stockholm even has Ludosport (my sport of choice). They really do seem to have all of the different exercise options.
So nice to meet you at lyko! Your yt channel keep smashing it🔥😍😍
❤️🥰❤️What a great video! It would have been so cool if you could do this in other countries as well🤩😄🙌
I've been a subscriber for years, so for me it's so much fun that you are here in sweden now, making videos :D
Can't believe you were in Hötorget next to my work door !!
So fun to hear absout the city I live in and grew up in from someone that's not from here and how you look at our lifestyle, etc :D
Loved this video! I Live in Stockholm and am from a small town south of Sundsvall ( where I went to Uni) 😃 but I also grew up in Bellingham,WA about 1hrs from Vancouver too (long story)😅 Anyway I hope you have a wonderful time here in Sweden 🇸🇪
We discovered the 2-duvet thing on a trip to Iceland - and have never looked back!
Thanks for the video I am traveling to Stockholm in March again and this video gives good tips for eating :)
Enjoy!!! Get all the cinnamon buns 🤤
Thank you for this video Keltie! I love you!!!!! 🎉
Thank you for posting such information info....Brilliant❤
"Are you a psychopath? Of course you get 2 duvets!" Laughed out loud at that! 😂
I think it makes sense, what if one partner wants it cool while the other wants it hot.
Sundsvall …. Omg… I love in Maryland, USA but I grew up in Härnösand which is not far from Sundsvall at all! 😊❤
Allot of these things we have in Australia, my husband and I have seperate bedding too and it’s great man 😊
Norway is the same in Norway. Tapwater is drinkable there to.
As a fun comparison, there’s a “health club” near to where you were filming called Sturebadet that charges up to 750 CAD/month for a membership 😁
I adore you! Such a ray of sunshine❤
Love keltie O'Connor id like to see you do a video on the red light therapy and mushroom coffee ☕😊❤
You get is sound like Sundsvall is just a bit north of Stockholm. Like Uppsala or Gävle. Not 400+ km. :)
I drive to the store just across the street because there is no crosswalk and they just made the street 4 lanes with a 50 mph speed limit. You can't get across it and unless you walk more than a mile and a half down to the closest crosswalk, driving is the only option.
Happy Family Day long weekend, Keltie!❤
Hope you have a great weekend Ervin!
You too, Keltie!
What documentary did you watch? Love this video btw!
I would love to see you go to Tokyo! There is such a big walking culture in Japan that contributes to their overall fitness.
Love to go there one day, making a promise to myself.
