The Whelen Edge Ultra Freedom IV WeCan Lightbar is the perfect lightbar when maximum warning signal and ultimate programmability is required. Whelen’s Freedom IV Series features advanced Linear Super-LED optics, all new DYAD two level technology, and 360° of contiguous light. The F4W lightbar incorporates an anodized extruded heavy duty aluminum base and cover chassis with four Super-LED corner modules. Each corner module has 12 Linear Super-LEDs installed on a conformal coated PCB board with a thermal pad/aluminum bracket heat sink assembly. The outer lens construction consists of two clear Uni-Dome top lenses with a liquid injection molded wiper seal divider for maximum protection against environmental elements. Metal top shields are installed on the Uni-Domes to provide protection from climate conditions and to provide passive solar radiation to direct heat away from internal components.
The F4W has an electronic WeCan Solid-State I/O board that is microprocessor controlled. The I/O board has built-in reverse polarity protection and output-short protection. The I/O board has the ability to flash twenty two Super-LED warning lights. The I/O board shall also have outputs to add takedown, alley lights, and auxiliary lights for each set of lights to be controlled in pairs.
A WeCan control point module is provided that has the ability to program the 18 inputs into the control point data bank using WeCan software. The 18 inputs can be programmed to activate multiple lightbar configuration combinations. The programming software can be downloaded onto a host computer and installed onto the control point via the USB port. All lightheads are installed in the F4W8 with the aid of black polycarbonate snap-in mounting brackets. The lightbar includes a 17 foot, 2 wire, 8 guage unterminated power cable and 17 foot, 17 wire, 22 guage unterminated control cable.
The F4W will have the capability to install a traffic advisor in the rear of the lightbar. An optional photocell is available to automatically dim the F4W8 at night. Additional lights, mount kits, and driver side cable can be installed for an additional cost. Optional color lens filters are available in blue, red, and amber. Optional smoked lenses are available at an additional charge. The F4W includes a permanent mount kit with hardware. All electronic components are covered by a Whelen five year factory warranty.
Features:
Linear Super-LED technology
WeCan DYAD two level technology (single or two color) allows for individual control of each level of each lighthead
Advanced Thermal Design reduces the stress on LEDs during extended dwell time

Each model has one or two sealing points, assuring lightbar integrity in all weather conditions
Hard-coated lenses minimize environmental damage from the sun, salt, and road chemicals
100% solid-state electronics
Point to point wiring between the I/O board and each lighthead allows for easy reconfiguration
Newly designed corner modules blend light together for 360° of contiguous light
Whelen's Collimator patented optic design provides unbeaten light output
WeCan models are programmable with unlimited flash patterns

This is by far my favorite bar, I love these higher profile bars and the whelen brand. this includes all the programming, intensity and cool factor. love it.
what a great looking lightbar... probably one of my favorites! love the up down flash pattern!!!
This is hands down one of the best video made by you guys ! Thanks for the educative light bar generation in the beginning !
+drunkpolice We're glad to hear that :) Thank You :)
these edge freedom bars are crazy powerful and are literally 2 liberty 2 bars stacked on top of each other got one on an ambulance hands down if you dont mind the roof mounted air dam the freedom is hands down the king of lightbars love whelen and federal signal gear
@ Dale Bebeau... You can configure the rear of the Freedom IV so that the bottom portion of the Modules are Amber.
sick lightbar, love the up/down pattern!!!! gorgeous!!!
I just recently ordered a red and a blue rotating light. They are very nice! I'm so glad I got something to flash around now. :) I can upload a video of them if you want to see them!
+kamryw927 That would be great to see :)
SIRENNET I'll send it to you soon.
I think these high profile bars are best suited for large trucks, slim bars are hard to see
verry nice! This summer the first ULTRA freedom IV coming to the Netherlands :)
+BlauwBlauw lightbars from the Netherlands Thank You :) The Freedom IV is an impressive product.
Forgot the center out traffic advisor mode😪
@ David Lucas... Thank You :)
This is a very popular lightbar for fire apparatus and those needing maximum amount of safety on the roof of your vehicle.
Thanks for watching :)
now thats a really cool bar!
Fast forward to 7:48 mark for the lights u welcome
HOWWWWW on earth do the wires disconnect from the modules??? I’m replacing 2 of my ambers with blues but I can’t get the plug to disconnect from the back of the amber module
Cool lightbar. 😎 What if the traffic advisor was a bright yellow, that might be cooler. 😎😎
Agreed ;) Thanks for watching!
LED lightbar internaheater? We transport blood platelets long distances, yesterday 107 miles, on Interstate highways to mountaihospitals.
Is there a way to have heat inside the lightbar to melt snow accumulating on the light bar? Thank you.
Great introduction yall should do that more often and amazing light bar Great Video good job to everyone
+Chris Grosvent Thank You :) We appreciate the great feedback :)
+SIRENNET It would be cool (if possible) if you showed them powered too to see how the lighting has brightened and been made more effective (and quieter) over time.
+goigle We'll give that a try in future presentations. Thanks for the idea :)
Does this bar have dual colour functionality? As in is it capable of switching between flashing red/blue and amber?
we need some of these on our engines
nice working lights
Nice Design
Hey Sirennet, can you guys take a look at a Lightbar that I home built from aluminium. It turned out great for my school project.
Sure. Sounds interesting. Please email us details at- info@sirennet.com. Thank You :)
You forgot to pour the tea into the cup!
🙃
Great video!
I think that traffic advisor should be an amber color so people notice it’s a traffic advisor so it’s not mixed up and people think it’s just a normal flashing. I don’t know, amber might be better and not so confusing.
Top material 😊 great stuff 😢
We got the new wheelen led bar on Ambulance in Hamburg Germany, insane Bright haha ^^
Could the whelen IV rotater lightbar be set up to look like an LED Verison of the federal signal Aerodynic lightbar?
+Brandon Hess The Rota-Freedom can be configured somewhat closely. For a look at the Rota-Freedom Bar please see the following link. It can combine Rota-Modules and 400 Series Modules. Similar to how the LED Aerodynic can combine Rotating Pods and direction Inboards. sirennet.com/store/product/whelen-freedom-rota-beam-series-lightbar
I
Please tell me they offer a version with multi-colored LEDs for those TA patterns.
Dale yes. You can use default colors on the back, all amber, or one layer (cant remember if its top or bottom layer) with amber on the back.
Armyconrad Usually bottom, Houston's old PD cars still have them
Oh yeah yeah
Lmao
cool lightbar perfect.
Can I upgrade my older freedom with the new modules
Freedom IV modules won't work in the previous Freedom bars. They're a different size, mount and wiring design.
is it available with colored lenses?
Yea, you could that... it's not totally the same though. Colored Filters are available; they snap onto the modules. The lenses are available in Clear as a standard, or you choose Smoked if you'd prefer a more stealth option.
Why do all the kinks on products you display not work????
is this going to replace the regular freedom?
+Bradley Edwards It will be taking the place of the traditional Freedom.
Nice lightbar
Thicc lightbar
Does the liberty 2 offer the same flash pattern as the first one you had on?
It sure does.
I'm back with more questions. On the older freedoms how easy is it to setup to have separate modules on a different switch as well as tied into the main flashing sequence. Example: if I have slide position 1 setup to turn on two rear amber modules only, but slide position 2 and 3 just adds blue into the mix.
what would work for stormspotter and volunteer firefighters.
For full size options, Whelen's Liberty II is an amazing platform to use. Our Sirennet series LBL2 and LBL5 won't disappoint & offer simple wiring to your switch box or panel. Please take a look when you have a bit of time via our Exterior Light-bar Page here: sirennet.com/store/cat/category/lightbars
Has Whelen discontinued the Rota Beam lightbars?
+Michael Pyle I don't think so.
+Michael Pyle... Whelen is still offering the Rota-Beam Light-bars.
Do they just remind me of GTA 5?
Exactly! It’s the exact same pattern lol.
@@amf5171 almost. It left out the part where the whole lightbar is on for a few seconds, then goes back to flashing
How much it may cost?

Hey guys, iam from Germany and i work at the "Malteser Hilfsdienst // Malteser emergency services. We would like to buy a new Ambulance Truck.. Something like this files.bos-fahrzeuge.info/vehicles/photos/c/4/d/a/370106-large.jpg .... But we dont want the normal german boring lightbar..
Lets come to my question,
Could we buy this Lightbar with blue lights only? We are not allowed to use red and blue lights?
Thank you for the link. Our Sales Team will be glad to help :) Please feel free to email them at: info@sirennet.com.
Thank you :) will send you an email soon.
🙂
Bring back the old strobes and colored lenses
These LED piles of plastic look like fisher price toys
Mr Wonderful I personally think Halogen mechanical light bars look more like cheap children’s toys than the newer models. All that space taken up on the roof for pretty much nothing. Plain stupid.
I think I like the code 3 pursuit lightbar better
8:05 thank me later
Top me faz uma doação kkk
