I’m very very lucky that my parents can take care of my bun 24/7 and I don’t have to transport her anywhere. However, it does mean I can’t take vacations with my parents. So I hope to someday be able to take my bunny and my parents on a vacation together. I live in Alaska, and we don’t have any bunny boarding or advertised professional bunny sitters. But me being the overly cautious bun-parent I am, I have a very hard time trusting any strangers with taking care of my bun.
I loved watching this. I'm going to visit a friend for a few days. Fortunately, I can take Pebbles with me. My mom is staying with my cats. I think leaving some instructions for her will be really helpful. I hadn't thought of that. Pebbles is very good in the car. I'm also taking my special needs cat. He's not so good at travelling but we manage.
My wife and I camp a lot. Where we go, our bunny goes. It's fun hearing fellow campers ask" Is that a RABBIT?" Our bun loves camping with us and loves being outside. We do keep him in a portable fenced area like a small dog would be in. We did have a friend that had kennels and a small animal section for our bunny but it burned down. Now he just goes with us. We are retired, so we do travel. It does make it a challenge sometimes, but once your bunny gets used to traveling and camping, they do fine.
Same. Went camping last weekend and Zipper the fluff head rabbit went with. Our rabbit looks like an English Spot got lucky with a Lionhead. The person in charge of the camp ground said it was the first time a rabbit was camping there. And his grandkid thought he looked like Pikachu even though the colors aren’t the same.
My rabbit loves camping. He even knows the word. We travel via E powered bicycle across MN allways hoping for them overcast days and we get em. Bunny rides custom coach in cool comfort for miles .stop for potty breaks just like a dog. Too fun to camp with a rabbit. Hey is that a rabbit ? All the time . Lol
I had a bunny name Lucy she passed away three days ago when I first bought it my mom was so angry but then my mom started to love it like her own child we were going on a vacation and gave Lucy to my friend for taking care of her but I got a call he said me Lucy passed away we all were crying especially my mom because every morning my mom used to go kitchen Lucy used to shake her front to leg for food she used to run around like a happy bunny and even play with her toy now my mom crys every single time she go to kitchen Lucy even had 2 friends they were actually lovebirds wo played with Lucy some times if we went mall we used to keep Lucy in the cage with the bird and they use to play so much I thought it was danger but they were friends since Lucy passed away my lovebird is so sad we will miss you lucy😭😭😭😭
We had a terrible bunny sitter experience (bunny lived, but I said, "Never again.") Since then, I don't take vacations unless a family member can take care of the bunnies. BTW, Lorelei, you are looking especially fetching in this video! Wherever you go, you'll instantly beautify the place!
When I went away for a few weeks last year I had a couple friends share bunny-sponsibilities. I created a nice little short video called 'how to pick up a bun' in case they needed to take him to the vet. Of course I got my method from you, but I added a little instruction to beg for forgiveness at the end. Also fun anecdote; My friend messaged so worried saying 'I think your bunny threw up! What should I do?' and I was thinking... "Can rabbits throw up? I don't think they can...." She sent me a photo. he has just peed out of his litterbox and it had stained the carpet in an almost vomitty color. Some things you just don't think to tell people.
Our rabbit rescue has been amazing! They helped us get our bunny fixed when we first rescued him. They taught us how to get the bun through gi stasis. They helped us find bunny sitters/bunny boarding and all of our experiences have been phenomenal.
I take care of my bunny always. I don't "vacation" but I have had to leave my home recently because of Hurricane Idalia. So I packed up my bunny, just like a member of the family. I put Cocoa in a carrier, grabbed everything needed for him and hopped in the car to drive to a relative's (empty) house. This is our yearly hurricane preparedness plan and it works. I don't think Cocoa is too happy in the car though! Lol😂 He likes being home! I agree with everything you said Lorelai! Your channel is excellent for reference and I have referred other bunny parents to you. 💜 to you and Lennon. Thank you!
The one that helped us to take care of bunnies when we were on vacation is an experienced lady that works in the local shelter. She has 10+ years of experience in rabbit boarding. She charges us CAD$44 per day for a pair of bunnies. She provided green mixed with few kinds of veggies everyday. She also allowed few hours of free roaming for them under supervision. I am glad to have her assistance while we’re away from home.❤
I went with a local vet hospital the first time I left my bunny. It was okay but I question how much attention she got. I’m going on a trip in December and I opted for hooking proper bunny boarding where all bunnies are vaccinated and supervised and have a large xpen. Veggies and hay included too with good reviews. I definitely feel better about it than the vet hospital.
Hey Lorelei. I love you channel. Honestly thanks so much for this video. I’ve been having trouble with diseases such as mites and skin infections with our new rabbit that we got as a partner for my bunny. I really hope you could make a video or suggest some ways to treat it and tips! Thanks so much either ways!
Wow! Great info. We don't leave unless we travel with our 5 because buns are amazingly complicated for regular animal humans. Great business opportunity for bunny Caretakers that know buns in and out tho, thanks!
I had my best friend watch my bunnies over a 3 day weekend while I went on a road trip and had her feed them rescue remedy stress relief drops with some Cheerios every day and I think it helped a lot!
One time when I had my dad watch them tho he didn’t follow my instructions and fed them WAY too many carrots and WAY too many oats and I was mortified so yeah make sure whoever’s watching them has detailed instructions and knows they need to actually follow them 😅
I appreciate you both for the extensive information and research. New to the family is our 13 week old Flemish Giant named Daytona. Rescued him from a meat farm, and With these videos I’m able to get him so excited and happy. Zoomies and Binkys everywhere. Well taken care of and look forward to seeing him become such a beautiful big boi
I’ve usually had friends or family visit once or twice a day, and use the bunny camera to make sure the bunny is happy. My bunny is regularly alone for ten hours a day when I’m working so I know he does pretty well so long as he has food, water and climate control. I wish I could afford bunny boarding. My vet offers it but it’s like 50-100 bucks a day.
Whenever we go on vacation my moms friend drops by a few times a day to feed and water them but recently one of my buns passed and it’s been really hard on me and my other bunny and I’m really nervous to leave her for a week. I am going to make sure that my moms friend pets her and stays longer so she doesn’t get depressed we are thinking about getting another bun in the next few weeks but it’s so hard to think about that. But thank you so much for this video it’s helping me a lot
Someone abandoned 2 baby bunnies at local bus stop couple of days ago...dogs ate one bunny and another one is rescued by a girl ..and today I am going to adopt that baby 🥺❤
I left my boys Guinness and Jameson, with some friends ( I'd watched their dogs) I gave specific instructions they came back fat. They gave them pellets galore
Thanks for sharing such a useful video! My family and I always learn a lot about rabbits from you 🥰 There is always someone at home with our bunny. If we really need to do some family activities together, we will try to go out during her nap time, or after her morning play time. We also have a pet camera to make sure she’s okay. I took an overseas trip last year and my hubby stayed with our bunny at first. Then, we asked one of our trusted friend to look after her for 2 weeks, so my hubby could join us for the trip 😊💕
My bunny was disabled the last few months of her life and I hired a former exotics vet tech to come over and express her bladder. I kept trips very short. Now that she has passed, I am going to travel quite a bit before I get another bunny.
Great video topic! We’ve been using Trusted Housesitters. There’s an annual membership fee, but it’s very inexpensive compared to paying for a sitter. Sitters get free lodging and sometimes use of our vehicle in exchange for free pet sitting. Everyone is background checked and ID verified and has a detailed profile. They tend to be retired people or people who can work remotely and want affordable travel options. We conduct video interviews till we find someone we think is perfect and have had 5 or 6 terrific sitters so far. They come a day early to get trained up and send photos and videos daily. It’s been a game changer for us!! 🐰❤
Hi Lorelei! Our two free roam bunnies Mando & Lorein appreciate you and your chanel! They are now 1 year old and when we went on vacation in spring this year, we had a three friends that they know come in mornings, daytime and evenings each for about an hour to clean feed, play and cuddle, it worked really well. Now that (sadly) my parents dog passed away, we are starting to train them to look after our babies in their home. We are planning visits to my parents with Mando & Lorien and bring all of their favorite things and a gate (my parents have a very big house and we want to limit their free roaming to only a part of the house) and stay there with them for a couple of hours and go home with the buns again. Maybe we leave them there once over night as a tester before we leave them for a week or two. Any recommendations on what to do with them during those visits, just let them be, or play their favorite games, anything to look out for during those visits? Thanks so much for your help!
We feel very lucky. Our 2 rabbits go to a lovely lady who boards rabbits only, 'Happy Hoppers'. She has a fabulous set up. We get daily video up-dates on our bunnies whilst we are away. It's like they're on holiday too!
I met a lady who volunteers at a rabbit rescue who boards rabbits at her home. She LOVES rabbits and I feel comfortable leaving my bun with her while on vacation. She gives my bun a 4x4 foot pen with a great set up and the best part, she only charges $10 a day.
It’s very difficult but I pay a great lady to stay the whole time, . I also have flash cards on how to do the litter box and pre packed each feeding with dates on the internet. I also have cameras i worry but I have directions to vet’s emergency hospitals everything even vet has their info and my card on file
Lorelei, please anything you can do to help… I have been recently told by my vet that my 5 year old bunny, Nellie, has broken her femur and my 2 options are amputation or euthanasia. The amputation is the option I would like to choose as my vet believes she will adjust to 3 legs… unfortunately the surgery is financially not feasible as it will be between 3000-5000 dollars. I don’t want to have to say goodbye due to finances. Do you have any suggestions or contacts that could help me. I don’t like asking for help but my bunny needs help. Please! I would do anything!!!! (I have dm you in hopes you may also see that) im sorry for asking for help I’m just desperate:(
Make sure that your rabbit has new play mates while your gone on vacation Like cats and rabbits Gracie loved playing hide and seek with the cats But they were are close church friends back in 2002 I would love to visit lenon Lorelei in person someday in the future Shalom 🕊️ of ✌️
I wish I had more options for bunny boarding here and also wish that bunny boarding isn't so pricey. If I had my own house, I'd like to offer bunny boarding.
I board my bunnies at where I adopted them (they have a bunny boarder at the conservatory I adopted them from) the carer that take cares of my bunny has bunnies so I trust them
Honestly, theres pretty much no bunny sitters or boarding locally or even far enough in the area that I live that i would trust enough (most are mixed pet like dog/cat and small animal....) to leave my bunny ...so it's been a sorry no vacations for me, my bunny is more important 💕 (which I dont mind anyway) esp since mine is a single bunny so leaving her alone would break my heart; Unfortunately bunnies don't seem to be very popular pets in this part of the uk, even more so...bunnies NOT living in a cage 😢 even the thought of my bunny being left with a sitter etc but in a cage would break my heart to pieces.
Leave my bunny with lots of water pots & food pots. Load bathroom w/ black garbage bag then newspapers & litter boxes of hay. Come backs just wrap bags up into garbage bags. Most food& water left over. Happy bunny stayed at home & no one to scare him while we were gone
We had a customer who had her neighbor come by to let their bunny out without having all the education we gave to the new owner, so their was not careful monitoring and the bunny chewed some wiring. The owner returning home ended up getting in touch with me immediately recognizing the litter box was empty of droppings. We got the bunny to an emergency Vet, the bunny had a blockage, but the owners knowledge on "Pet Bunny Health and What To Watch Out For" on our Lovely Bunny's Bunny Blog, and quick acting saved her life. I recommend a qualified bunny sitter who will keep you updated on their set up with videos to show how the bunny is living daily and it is not just sitting in a cage. Our "Motto" is it is better to be proactive than reactive, and it really does make a huge difference. If anyone ever needs a bunny sitter, Do some vetting into the sitters knowledge and decide best.
Whatever you do… do not send your rabbits to an online pet sitter. They typically take in way too many pets and require a cage for the stay. They are typically just fed and watered the entire time your gone. Please make sure your getting a sitter that has proper knowledge of rabbits. Bunny boarding is NOT IDEAL in Canada where I live… my rabbit came home after a 4 day stay… had fleas and mites … and this sitter was highly praised and recommended by the community so… yeah just please find someone to come to your home if you can. It’s the easiest on rabbit.
I have one place that I trust to give my bunnies to when I go on vacation. The only problem is, the cage is 2x4. I have looked everywhere to find a bunny boarding that gives them way more space. None offer it. I am willing to pay more but nothing. I take my bunnies with me when I can.
I know there’s a lady in our city that does the boarding but I think if we dropped off all 6 it would be like $700 just for a week. So it’s not gonna be happening anytime soon.
I bring mine to a rescue that also boards. Sometimes I get my niece if she's not vacationing with us, or if it's not a SUPER long time (don't want to put her under too much pressure in case something happens)
Hello, I wanted to ask if this sounds ok: I have a rabbit and it has a small cage. I leave the cage open so that the rabbit can jump in, eat, drink, wee etc. So does that sound all right?(thanks😊)
My rabbit is die at 13 September i get hem at 2017 when I'm only 9 years old i grow with her he is my everything but now I'm empty my brother get onther rabbit for me but i can't accept her i can't forget my casper my sweet cute casper i can't. Forget her i can't i feel like I'm so unfaithful what can i do I'm goin crazy now i just try to u think like he is not die he just changed her color but i my mind can't Forget that I can't live without her i feel like i didn't giver her a good life 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭I'm dieting
I’ve been on only 2 vacations in the past 8 years because there is no way I trust anyone with my rabbit and I certainly don’t want a stranger in my house. Unfortunately, the bunny boarding facilities I’ve checked out in the past have not been very clean. So I just end up staying home.
I print out pic of what each thing a bunny does each position or in pain etc. I even keep poop in bag to show how to look at each poop and what it looks like and it it’s smaller then it’s a issue
You very sweet person but please my best advise as a Muslim sister in humanity it please we’re modest clothes. The western society specially dominated men want to objectify and sexual women because they feel they have the right as men to see women half naked in public. Please don’t get offended just be modest and dignified and you as a female have a lot of honor and to be respected. Modesty destroys the narrative that men can’t control over women just by being and wering modest clothes. Peace out ✌️ sister
I’m going on a week long vacation in a few days and I had two bunnies but on of them sadly passed at 3 years yesterday and I am heartbroken and now I’m scared to leave my one bunny alone as we do have friends that come a few times a day to snuggle and feed her I am worried about her being alone for so long and she free roams in only my room so I don’t know what to do 😢❤
Hey Lorelei, my rabbit a few weeks ago was cleaning his face and all of a sudden his front nail comes off bleeding, can you help me out a little? he’s been doing fine but i’m worried.
Do you recommend traveling with a non-potty-trained bunny if you're moving? I read that bunnies get really stressed while traveling in a car for long hours, especially if music is playing. Also they are at risk for heat stroke if they’re in a vehicle at rest stops. They may not be allowed inside hotels if it’s a multi day drive. Would it be more humane to find the bunnies a new home instead of making them travel?
Have you heard the sad news that Bini The Bunny crossed the rainbow bridge? I have a beautiful little painting by Bini. I loved when you and Shai did a joint video with Lennon and Bini. Bini was one amazing little bunny.
@@chilton225 Yes it is, but Bini The Bunny lived a long life (elven years +) and had a wonderful bunny daddy with Shai Lighter. Bini and Shai showed the world how amazingly smart bunny rabbits are. I have a painting that was painted by Bini. It was because of Lennon that I discovered Bini and Pigpoke (he crossed the rainbow bridge a year ago, now his legacy is lived on with Pipkin). My first bunny Kitty Num-Num Cooper crossed the rainbow bridge about three years ago and I still miss my little bunny. Bunnies are awesome and amazing and Bini The Bunny legacy will live on for many years.
i would love some tips im getting a netherland dwarf but i was going to get a holland lop but my nana said it was too big i really would want some tips because i cant free roam my bunny i have way to much wood and my nana is being nice to atleast let me keep it inside! I really would like advice on keeping a rabbit in a hutch. But i will let it roam some when im home.
Lorelie you did a video with binni the bunny he has passed away collab with shy and do a qna react tot he video of binni the bunny passing over plus ill also be gud for me as itll remember of my bunny whos name also was bini
I have set up my rabbits in a large x-pen at my parents for longer vacations but if it’s just for a day or two I have my sister come over twice a day to feed them. I make sure she confirms all rabbits are eating at each meal to ensure no stasis issues. I would love to take them with me but that is a lot of supplies to travel with and one of my rabbits is very sensitive and prone to stasis so I wouldn’t want to stress him.
Who takes care of your bunny? comment below!
my grandparents watch Snowy while I'm gone
Family or friends usually
My neighbors❤

We bunny people don't use the buddy' system. Why is that? Cause we use the bunny system!

Hi Lorelei how do you do your edits I love them I am thing about becoming a RUclipsr
My bunny is so cute
Mine too 😍💜
So what I learned from this is when you go on vacation send your bunny to loralie
Lorelei, again, an excellent, informative video. I’ve found a ‘bunny hotel’ near me and visited beforehand to make sure it was what I was looking for.
When this video comes out and ( I ) happen to be on vacation and had to leave my bunnies at home with my family members to take care of. Lol
I left my boys Guinness and Jameson, with some friends ( I'd watched their dogs) I gave specific instructions they came back fat. They gave them pellets galore

(I have dm you in hopes you may also see that) im sorry for asking for help I’m just desperate:(
super helpful tysm
Make sure that your rabbit has new play mates while your gone on vacation
Like cats and rabbits
Gracie loved playing hide and seek with the cats
But they were are close church friends back in 2002
I would love to visit lenon Lorelei in person someday in the future
Shalom 🕊️ of ✌️
I wish I had more options for bunny boarding here and also wish that bunny boarding isn't so pricey. If I had my own house, I'd like to offer bunny boarding.
We simply don't go on vacation. I don't trust ANYONE to take care of my rabbits. I am a helicopter mom tbh
What airline that accepts bunnies in the cabin with you do you use? (Domestic flights) or can you recommend an airline that accepts them? Thank you
I board my bunnies at where I adopted them (they have a bunny boarder at the conservatory I adopted them from) the carer that take cares of my bunny has bunnies so I trust them
Honestly, theres pretty much no bunny sitters or boarding locally or even far enough in the area that I live that i would trust enough (most are mixed pet like dog/cat and small animal....) to leave my bunny ...so it's been a sorry no vacations for me, my bunny is more important 💕 (which I dont mind anyway) esp since mine is a single bunny so leaving her alone would break my heart;
Unfortunately bunnies don't seem to be very popular pets in this part of the uk, even more so...bunnies NOT living in a cage 😢 even the thought of my bunny being left with a sitter etc but in a cage would break my heart to pieces.
I love black rabbits with white on there nose. So pretty. I just got a black lionhead rabbit with a star on his forehead. So happy.
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE BUNNY🐰🐇🐰🐇🐇🐇😁😁😍😍😁😁
lennon is soooooooo cute💞💞🐇🐰
Hello, I wanted to ask if this sounds ok: I have a rabbit and it has a small cage. I leave the cage open so that the rabbit can jump in, eat, drink, wee etc. So does that sound all right?(thanks😊)

I’m going on a week long vacation in a few days and I had two bunnies but on of them sadly passed at 3 years yesterday and I am heartbroken and now I’m scared to leave my one bunny alone as we do have friends that come a few times a day to snuggle and feed her I am worried about her being alone for so long and she free roams in only my room so I don’t know what to do 😢❤
Hiiiii
Hi Lorelei I’m rlly happy cuz I convinced my friend to not keep her bunny outside and she lets him free rome her room now
Hi! I ask my family to watch them and as a backup a trusted friend. Or they go with us!
My 2 bunnies go to bunny hotel. Yes, it is expensive. I know they are being taken good care of
Indiana house rabbit society will watch your bunny for you. They are an awesome resource
I wanted a video explaining how to get your rabbit used to traveling with you, if you have any tips to share would be lots of help 🥰
My buns even go shopping with me. They are only alone a few hours a day for nap time while I am at the office 2 to 4 hours.
I live in UK and I can’t take my bunny with me to Poland because no plane accept animals.
For some reason, I don't go anywhere if I can't take my bunny with me.
Have you heard the sad news that Bini The Bunny crossed the rainbow bridge?
I have a beautiful little painting by Bini. I loved when you and Shai did a joint video with Lennon and Bini.
Bini was one amazing little bunny.
So sad :(

Yes it is, but Bini The Bunny lived a long life (elven years +) and had a wonderful bunny daddy with Shai Lighter.
My close friend who has a couple of rabbits herself looks after mine
lorlei should i name my bunny eggnog ,mistletoe, peppermint i get her in december
"Sip on your margarita" lol many of your followers are young girls😂
