Howzit my Bruddah!! Thanks for the sub!! Appreciate that! Yeah an old Cook Bros frame would be sweet to build, if you can find one!! Thanks for watching and for the comment!!
Thanks! Bernie loves them and I have them on my Monza. They look good and they arenʻt too expensive. Your Dyno sounds awesome! Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
I just got these too found them on bmx museum 149 with profile bottom bracket. i love the look flawless install although since they are dual drive i had to double check which was left vs right. Glad i caught it before finishing install
cool where is the riding scene out there, i was i the navy in pearl harbor, raced at hickam bmx around 1991 -1993 raced with shannon gillete, jason enright, i remember jumping the scary guangas double jump.
We're on Kauai and I have to say the BMX scene isn't that big here. We do have some kids now jumping on these big BMX bikes and doing wheelies and the 20" BMX scene is also pretty small. Kids are on them riding in neighborhoods but we have no BMX track here anymore. I raced on Oahu once at a state meet at Keehi Lagoon. Wished I had a chance to race at Hickam! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
“Hey you guy’s” Thanks for all of your videos 👍🏼 They really help out a lot of us! I got a Gt Heritage Pro Series 29er. I was wondering if you could help me out with the products I need to change my bike to disk breaks. And what is your favorite Gum Wall tires that I can use on my bike 🤔 You guys Rock🤘🏼 Thanks again 👍🏼
Check out our videos on the disc brake conversion we did on Bernie's Z frame Hutch and my recently completed Torker. In it you'll be able to see what we did. I used the disc brake adaptor from Stacked BMX. It's a little pricey but it's made in the USA and each step of the process was done by BMXers. You can also reach out to Larry at Stacked BMX for a complete kit he can sell you to do this. You can even order new rims and he'll have everything in the kit for you to bolt on your bike! He's super helpful and would be the guy to go to for disc brake conversions. As for tires, I like Panaracers but they can sometimes be hard to find in stock. I like the skinny sizes like 1.75 and those have looked really good on our bikes. Thanks for the kind comments and for watching! We appreciate it! 🤙🏻
...And I just was going to invite you and Bernie to the shop for filming and stuff for your channel...It would have gave you two a little more room to work and film....The months not over, so we are NOT done yet!!
We use the Origin8 Hornet in a lot of our builds. Looks good, has 108 paws so the sucker is loud, and it’s made well. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
Bernie picked his up from eBay but go check out Stacked BMX and the adaptor he created. It's really good. Our Torker video has us putting it on the frame. Part 2, which hasn't been filmed yet, will show how to set it up. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏻
You going hate me for saying this....Did you know that most companies offer frames that have chain tensioners built into the frames now...? Awesome stuff!!
Hey guys! I just picked up these same cranks for a GT 29er I'm building. I also noticed how hard it was to fit the spindle in to the crank. It only fits (by hand) a short distance, and must be tightened all the way with tools. Watching your video, and how hard Bernie had to 'wrench' the cranks on there - how difficult you think it would be to remove the cranks? I'm guessing the spindle bolt would come out easily, but to me- it doesn't seem like the crank would then slide off the spindle very easy. Thoughts? Thank you!
Here's what Bernie said...."The crank arm will always be hard to remove . You always have to use the crank removal tool." I think with the tool it should be ok to remove but yeah, you do need to put some muscle on them. That spindle makes it harder for sure.
@@cruisinginthe808 Gotchya! Honestly I didn't know there was such a thing as a 'crank removal tool' 😄 Thank you very much for your reply! 'Preciate ya's!! 👍😎
Another stellar video! I noticed the link above to the cranks also had them in 165. Is one length better than another depending on the bike size or your height? Looking for some GT cranks as well for a 94 GT interceptor build.
Yes, they make them in different lengths. It all depends on the size of your bike, your height, and what you are comfortable with. I've always used 175s but that's the length that I have used since my BMX days. Bernie changes his and goes up and down but in this last video he went back to 175s. Shorter crank lengths make it easier to pedal so keep that in mind. Sorry, I wished I could be more help!
Those are copies that someone makes on eBay. It would be cool to find some OG original bars but those are hard to come by. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Thatʻs a hard question to answer simply because it depends on a few things. Do you want the old school look or do you want more of the modern type of rim? What color/finish do you want? How much are you willing to spend? Iʻve had good luck with the Sun Ryno Lites except their chrome plated version. I have a chrome plated set that the chrome is rubbing off for some reason. Not sure if itʻs because of our humidity in Hawaii or if I just have a bad set. But the anodized rims are awesome. What kind of bike do you have?
That is an interesting idea! How are the gaps between the fork and the tires? Any other noticeable differences? Thanks for sharing that tip and for watching!
If you click on the bell thingy somewhere on the bottom edge of one of our videos, I think you can choose to get notified when anything new drops. As for replies, I'm not sure if that bell notification thing works for that too but you can try. Usually I get an email whenever someone replies to a comment I leave on someone else's video. If you check your email regularly that should help. Thank you so much for the comment as it might help others and thanks for watching! 🤙🏻
Since Hutch is not the same Hutch that we grew up with Bitd JBD is the new owner and looks to drive on trends.... kinda like H.I.C. making surf boards under the new company saying it's like a old thruster....
I hear you but those old brands were like 40 or more years old and it’s hard to keep a business like that in the family for that long. All the old school bike companies are now run by other people. Haro doesn’t build his bikes anymore. Neither does GT. But if these companies can come out with bikes that looked and somewhat match what we grew up with, I think that’s cool for most people. Obviously if you want only OG parts you can definitely find them but at much higher prices. In the end, just do whatever it is you want to do. It’s your ride and your money. Thanks for the comment and for watching! 🤙🏼
I bought those handlebars after I saw Bernies 👌🏾🙏
Nice! I think they are pretty sweet. Thanks for watching another one!
Sweet Crank set guys... Gotta love those Gt bikes / Parts...
Thanks man! Yes, those GT parts and bikes are nice. Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment!
I agree, chrome BMX bikes just catch my eye the most!
Hard to beat chrome! The candy chrome blue on the Skyway is pretty close though! Thanks for watching!
Hawaii boy living in Japan here...gotta new sub. Get one of those old Cook bros racing BMX bikes..would love to see dat!

Nice cranks. Been thinking about grabbing a pair of these in chrome also for my 96 Forest Green Dyno Sonic.

Thanks man! Thanks for sharing that and for watching! 🤙🏻

Let’s see if it’s available in the UK
Bernie must be Ilocano if he's frugal. 😂 Sweet cranks Bernie!
Haha! I'll have to ask him next time! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
By any chance, do you have a link to Bernie's new cranks?

Thank you so much. Mahalo
Whats the brand model of those tires?
In the meantime, Kevin! You should borrow some cranks from Bernie! So you can ride your new Race Inc. Bike!😎🤙💯
I finally got my cranks from Planet! Hope to finish the Skyway soon! Thanks!
@@cruisinginthe808 That's good news Kevin! Finally you can finish putting it together!🤙😀💯🚲
Which disc brake adapter is he using on that hutch will check older video for details i have been putting disc brakes on bmx since late 90s 98 or 99

I think your chain needs to be flipped over so the flat side goes againts the sprockets.
I think the front tire is backwards
That Center Piece Is A Shaft Not A Axle. Crank Shaft.
This bike needs a eblike kit, it already has the lightning bolt. 😂
What type of rims are best?

Yep, chrome is hard to beat! Thanks man!
Add some 27.5 wheels since you have the disc brakes
I send you a photo of my GT Rad Series i went from 29er to 27.5 it was a Tad big for me

My wheel will be built by a local bike shop by this week it will have a gap but i keep you posted

Chrome is becoming less common now as it’s apparently awful for the environment. Chrome plating.
