Personally, I feel the best Poke-girl is May. Simply because she went through arguably the most character development of all in the anime. She went from hating Pokemon to loving them - and that's quite the feat.
She also has a nice role in the games: Instead of a twerp rival like Blue, a hyperactive idiot like the blonde gen4 guy (was his name Barry?) or some WAY too philosophical 10-year-olds in Cheren and Bianca, May was more like a kind and calm partner who'd give you advice on what to do next, give you items to proceed on your journey.
Finally, someone who agrees with me XD Most people say that the best rivals are those who act like rivals, throwing insults and the like at you. Me? I was happy to have a friendly rival for once, so May became my favorite in the anime and the games :D
Pokemon is such a unique show for its non-forced gender equality. It'll be so easy to ramble on with an essay on this subject because it's so in depth! I'm so glad you made this video to help bring this to light! :D
Great video. I especially liked your take on the Mom's of the Pokemon games. I hadn't thought of that relationship dynamic and the role it played in the stories.
If you're talking about the Pokegirls' lack of battling experience, you should realise that Dawn actually battled a whole lot more than you think she did. She battled a Gym Leader, fought in a tag team competition (where she was the runner-up), fought an Elite Four and even traveled all the way from Hoenn to compete in the Pokemon Junior Cup. She had character development even integrated into her goals. She started as overconfident and cocky, but after a series of losses and victories, matured to a more calm and confident trainer capable of both doing in well in Contests and battles. May's development was never contest-related, while Misty and Iris never developed and Serena was a bit too extreme. Dawn is the only character to have all of her aspects fleshed out and stand out as an equal to the male protagonists. I think your dislike for Diamond and Pearl has sort of caused you to hate an otherwise great character. (6/1/2018)
2:04 I wish that Pokemon would do stuff like that with dads too. I mean, the only time you see your dad is in Gen III, and it's pretty touching when you see him having to come to terms with the fact that his son/daughter is becoming even a more powerful trainer than him. I mean just listen to what he says after you beat him: "As the Gym Leader, I can't express how upset I am... But as a father, it makes me both happy and a little sad. It's odd..." Why can't Pokemon have more dads like this??
I think the best most interesting moment for the dad in Gen 3 was in ORAS with the post game cutscene which gives us a hint into the type of relationship the mom and dad have which is something you don’t get to see often
i dont think she will. she made this list because the lack of strong female characters in video games. pokemon is a perfect example. on another note. so does attack on titan.
Emma, oh god. The Looker side quest was so interesting to me because it was deeper and more interesting then the main storyline of the game. Not only was i happy because Looker was returning, but i was glad that something so dark and sad appeared in a pokemon game. As someone who loves darkness, sadness, and horror, i love when at least two of the three appear somewhere i'm not expecting it. Thus why Majora's Mask is my favorite loz game.
Jacob Weiler I think you have to enter luminoise city from one of the gates. You should receive a message on the holo caster telling you where to meet up with Looker. Hard to believe that a few hour side story can be 100 times better than the horrible main story.
It also highlights that there is a problem around the world about the situation that she was in and why it is important to help someone in her situation, and many people seem to forget that that situation is an actual thing that's more common than most would like to acknowledge. I was touched when she received a gift in the end, but I was even more touched when she affected the hearts of those around her in such a strong manner. When everything was over, I actually sat there on my bed crying, and I began wishing that I could play through the side quest again and again and again. I liked that her mistrust and situation in the beginning was an actual problem, and I loved how it had been resolved later on. I wasn't expecting to bite my lips to stop myself from sobbing out loud. I hope there are more surprises like this in future games, too.
My Top 5 PokeGirls (In my opinion) 5.) Emma: Like Tamashii said, play the Looker side quest in X/Y. It'll bring a tear to your eye :') 4.) Clair: So....not a lot of people like her cause she doesn't give you a badge and blah blah blah. BUT, you get a Dratini with ExtremeSpeed in return, so I still don't get why so many people hate her. Honestly, she was the first dragon-type gym leader AND the first female to actually use them. Also, she uses one of my favorite pokemon!! (Kingdra :D) 3.) Dawn: My first game = Platinum. Anime I grew up with = Sinnoh Arc. Main female protagonist = DAWN. She was pretty kewl in her own way, if I do say so myself :3 Me and my best friend would always pretend to be Dawn (me) and Zoey (my best friend) and compete in "contests" where her brother was the judge XD *ahhh....so many memories from being a dumb 9 year old...* 2.) Karen: Dis gurl doe. Dem wurdz beh OFF DUH HOOK. *I'm trying to sound like a stupid person here...bear with me xD* The type she uses is her favorite. Her pokemon, too. I wish Agatha was more like her... *angry golfers be like....* 1.) Cynthia: God damn, do I even need to say anything about her? .......oh, you're still here? *She's amazing.* Case closed. Iris and Diantha are DIRT-*no, sratch that*-*NOTHING* compared to her, IMO. You want a real champion? Talk to Cynthia. She'll give you a challenge like no other. (Btw, her Garchomp isn't the issue. It's her Milotic and Togekiss that are as bulky as hell!!)
For Girls: "This list is about which female in the Pokemon world represents the pride they have for the feminine race, they prove that they can be just as powerful and strong willing as men!" For Guys: "This list is about who I would have bang with if I were in the Pokemon world
incredible y While Misty is my fave poke girl, I remember pretty much really, really looking her when I was young. I just liked her Pokemon and her design and her voice, and just her carefree personality.
Personally, Dawn is like the best character out there. She is a lot like Ash, but much more inexperienced. She also is the first female character that forms a deeper connection in the show. Misty and May went from being great in the beginning to falling into the back story in their later portion of the show. Misty never had a dream, and May never really progressed. Dawn, meanwhile, was shown as a dynamic character. Even the most subtle things, like sleeping in a tent at first but switching to a sleeping bag, or keeping Piplup in its Pokeball at first but keeping it out later. The writers in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl worked really hard to create a better version of May, and they did. Plus, when each of the girls come back, Misty and May were more of acquaintances. Dawn came back in Best wishes by playing a prank. Also, she had a mentoring relationship with Ash at first, but then Ash learned things from her. Finally, when Ash left, she cried, proving that they actually had a relationship. And for Iris, NO THANK YOU. That girl was just mean and learned nothing.
Not trying to be that guy but... May ended up being a contest legend In Hoenn. They even call her the queen of Hoenn now. Just because you want the Ash and Dawn thing to happen doesn't mean other characters haven't progressed. I understand the Misty thing tho she didn't have a real goal besides being a Pokémon Water trainer master. However she was very big in her role as the first feminine protagonist in the cast. Also I'm not a Pokeshipper I don't believe Pokémon is meant for that but it sounds like Ash is going to be dating or having some kind of relationship with Serena.
The Piplup Show I mean Misty was the first Pokegirl & I mean she was made in 1999 so I already knew they weren’t going to let her do much. wish Johto happened later
Ummm is it bad my favorite pokemon is Charmander? because I like it for the following reasons: -Its cute -the voice is so cute -if you train it right its very loyal -they evolve to become a flying pokemon ( I love flying pokemon)
It's kind of hard to compare the games to the anime now as so many Pokemon learn moves that they can't get through levelling. Example from X & Y is Ash's Fletchling which knows Steel Wing yet Steel Wing can only be learned via breeding. So everyone who says that Pikachu lost to a L5 Snivy hasn't really thought it through properly. Plus everyone seems to conveniently forget that Zekrom had taken all of Pikachu's electricity and couldn't use electric attacks which did throw both Pikachu and Ash off of their battle plan.
Man, for the pokemon fans out there. You really have to stop watching the anime and read the manga. The manga is a faithful adaptation of the Pokémon Video Game Series not to mention gives a more interesting and at times darker storyline.
I really liked your explaining Jessie's backstory, especially her mom. I've been wondering for ages how Jessie and James haven't been "fired" yet for being grade A failures. If her Mom was that important they might be giving her leeway to reach her mother's potential. And James has the potential to be filthy rich. This is obviously my headcanon but I do appreciate you filling in that gapping hole.
I hate the way serena was portrayed in the anime, in the games she was a strong battler who didn't really care for clothes and "girly" stuff, but in the anime they took Shaunas personality and slapped it onto serena which really pissed me off. Also she picked the wrong starter. She was supposed to pick to poke to counter the protagonists starter, not the opposite. Ugh screw you anime serena. Royally screw you.
Yeah. I mean, I like Serena and all, but she's just a girly stereotype, which isn't exactly a terrible thing, but a stereotype of a girly girl isn't really progressive or interesting to me. She does have good moments, but compared to other Poke girls, she's just not as good.
Awoken Black Star That's not what it was about. See the clip in Tamashii's video. Proof that she loves pretty clothes. She participates in showcases, which requires her to be pretty. She participated in Valerie's fashion show. If her even remotely using her Pokemon for battling are examples from team rocket, and rarely any battles that were her own, then that's proof that she's a stereotype. I get that she did dress up as Ash and play the role perfectly, but that's just one of very little instances where Serena battled and didn't act like a girly girl.
1. Either Dawn or May, I like them equally 2. Misty 3. Iris 4. Serena (Maybe I'd like her if she didn't have an obvious crush on Ash and actually did something)
I like iris :( I think she was different and not a back-offy type of pokemon girl. She just pointed out ash's flaws, and fans couldn't take it (My opinion).
Wow, no Elesa? Man, that's a shocker. Yeah, I personally like both Elesa and Roxie mostly because they are (so far) the only two Pokémon gym leaders with heavy music themes.
I LOVE the part about the mother! I have always found it hilarious how your mother never bothers to worry about her child, let alone care about him/her.Totally subscribing to u!
My favorite pokegirls (I'm only using the girls that traveled with Ash) 1. Misty 2. Dawn 3. Iris 4. May 5. Serena I feel like I'm going to get some hate for this list... So I'll explain. Serena is last because in my opinion, she annoys me. Serena has done barely anything in the anime yet, although its only the first season of xy, but Bonnie and Clermont have done a lot of things. The only reason people like her is because of Armourshipping, which I find stupid because really? She tripped on some grass and started crying or something like that. Then a boy hands her a hankercheif and she spends her life since then stalking this boy? Shes also girly, which is ok, but she feels too girly. I am still waiting for Serena to actually have a real battle. In the pokepuff episode, I thought she was going to have an actual battle against the swirlix. But no. May is fourth because... well I like her but she feels like a diva... and that's all. Iris is third because she was different. At first I hated the black and white anime, but when I actually stopped looking at all the bad parts, I realized that is was pretty good. Iris is a interesting and fun character. Dawn is second because I like her personality. She is a lot like Ash, so they both connect well together. She's funny, nice and an enjoyable character. Misty is number one for many reasons. It's not because she was the first pokegirl, she was an amazing character. She had so many funny parts, and she was fun to ship Ash with :3
I wouldn't really put Dawn on second place, but that's just my opinion haha. However I do agree with what you said about Serena, I tried to watch XY 'cause I wanted to check on the new characters and she's just annoying, all she does is fangirl over Ash. Compared to other characters (including some of who I dislike), she's useless, I can't connect with her like I did with other female characters like Misty or Blue/Green.
well, in my opinion May should be on the top 3, I disliked Iris because of her attitude, she was pretty proud or arrogant in some cases. everyone has their own opinion I respect yours so don't complain (:
10: X/Y Mom was awesome! 9: Understandable and I hated Agatha 8: One of my most hated Poke'mon girls, but okay Champion 7: So so 6: Okay 5: Good good 4: Perfect! 3: My 2nd favorite Champion! 2: I GAME FREAK'N HATE HER!!!! 1: I forgive you for #2
You are all some haters, straight up and down! Iris is a BOSS point blank period... Can any of Ash's other female companions say they caught a Dragonite?! A wild, ferocious Dragonite that would step to any Pokemon and never give up?! No, because they were too busy catching Bunery & Munchlax haha not only that but she became a Gym Leader & a Champion #FU*KINGGOALS not some lowly Contest Coordinator concerned with ribbons and seals HAHA & on top of all that Iris would put Ash in his place like none other LMAO you are all such little kids!!!
I dont hate Iris, I just find her annoying. And just saying, Iris isn't champion in the anime, and Iris didn't really catch dragonite, dragonitie volunteered to go with her.
I personally like Cynthia. She's the best written champion in all the pokemon games and anime. And I'm assuming that this was written before Serena's character arc. I also really like Dawn because she's just so interesting!! She is following her mothers career and I just find that pretty interesting!
We need more Pokegirls like Iris in the anime. I want a Pokegirl who travels with Ash just to decimate him in battle at every chance. Or one where she and Ash both want to be Pokemon Masters, and she ends up winning against Ash in the end.
6:48 about #6, since you said that Bianca has a "lack of talent" and "isn't that skilled"... Maybe not at first, no, but she *does* appear in the World Tournament in Black 2 & White 2, which at least in-universe would make her one of the best trainers in the world.
I loved Sapphire and Platinum from Adventures. Sapphire, because we see a lot of growth in her character to go from a wild girl who absolutely hated Ruby to being a more sensitive girl who loves Ruby. Platinum, because she was hands down funniest female Pokemon character without even trying, she was a sheltered girl who had no idea about the real world, and seeing her mingle with the two idiots of Diamond and Pearl was a gem on its own :D Quick question, Tamashii, do you agree with the idea of booting Ash off the series? It was fun when he was in Kanto, but all he is now is a spare part when all the audience wants to see is a good protagonist native to the new region who has a different spin to their character. Am I right or wrong here?
Sapphire Unitato No, they just need to boot him, pronto. I remember seeing the first episode in the XY anime, and thinking "This is amazing!" and the instant Ash came into view, I literally went "Urghhhh!!"
I agree wholeheartedly. Ash has long since overstayed his welcome. I always wanted his time with the series to come to an end with him returning as a league rival to a new protagonist. That way, we get to see him finally WIN a league for a change and it kinda serves as a passing of the torch. Closure and new beginnings, all rolled into one.
Aaron Wilson Amen to that! Why is Ash still the protagonist anyway? Seeing the same old Ash with the same old Pikachu for six straight generations is getting extremely boring...back at Gen 3! If the devs can have the balls to axe Misty, Brock and all of Ash's former Pokemon, they can axe Ash himself. And it's not like it's never been done before, Pokemon Adventures does it loads of times, first at Red, then to Yellow, then to Gold, then to Ruby, then back to Red, then to Emerald, then to Diamond and (as far as I've read) back to Gold, they're switching the protagonist role like it's a hot potato, yet I loved every one of them, can't the anime do the same? =/
Yeah, I actually think the anime would be so much better if Ash just left than if he aged, now that I think of it. Then maybe I could actually tolerate it. I'm thinking the way they could leave it is with his Pikachu evolving and becoming basically invincible, then he uses Raichu to win a league and then some kid is inspired to be like him and they become the new protagonist. Knowing the anime, that would never happen, but it's okay to dream :p
My reaction to the first episode of Black/White: Did a level 50+ Pikachu just lose to a LEVEL 5 SNIVY?! No. I'm fucking done. I'm fucking done! THIS IS BULLSHIT!!
Misty will always be #1 in my heart, but its hard to disagree with Emma as your #1 pick. She has an amazing story in the game, which i really enjoyed. It was a shame it was so short.Good list overall, nice to see something from you
I know what u mean by "the story brought a tear to my eye" I was the same way but I didn't know it would include girls from the show My list (only the girls in the show) (And there are only two on da list) 2. May 1. Misty
My current list would have Serena from the anime at the top of the ranks. Why as some of you may ask? Well, to start it off, it's her backstory with Ash that caught my eyes and ears. Other than Amourshipping as their pair is now called, I'd say it would serve as a tool for character development and maturity, and so on and so forth. The second reason is the reason why she joined Ash journey in the first place, which was to find her own dream/goal/whatever you call it. Again, I'd say this would also serve as a tool for character development. At the moment, her goal has yet to be revealed (damn you writers). Third reason is that she's one of the female companions of Ash's to really, really support him. Of course that's due to her biased nature towards Ash because she has a crush on him. Though, I think that's what makes Serena one of my favorite female characters in all of the anime I have watched. It's also why Dawn takes a close second in my list. My final and most fanboyish reason is because Amourshipping. Yeah, that's pretty much it. And it's the most plausible one, too. Granted the writers don't write her off, that is. I really, really like the pair. :)
I actually don't get the hype to her backstory... :~/ Maybe I'm a little biased because I was expecting more, though. I dunno, it's just that they were building it up as if they had had a great big adventure together, and there was gonna be a lot of character depth revealed from it, but it just turned out to be a kinda cute two-minute meeting.
Honestly the backstory was kind of stupid. He gave her a handkercheif and she fell in love with him. What? So when she was around 5 she fell in love with a guy for giving her a Band-Aid. If that happened to me I wouldn't have fallen in love. I don't know about you all but when I was five and someone said the word "Love" I would go "Ewwww" ... yeah I was that kid. That was honestly really lame. And all she did was fall in the grass. Did she really need to say she couldn't stand up? Other than that I kinda like Serena as well, but still not a lot. The only thing I hate is how cheesy she acts and the backstory. Besides those two, she didn't really ask to join Ash, just wanted to return the cloth and say hi, and she was starting a journey anyways, and decided to pop in. But a little too much blushing and stammering, not enough "ASH KETCHUM YOU OWE ME A BIKE."
AnnabethPlaysMC I'd like it if she just... DID something. :~/ I've only been watching the english dub, but have you noticed just how little she's done? She's had two episodes centered around her once she joined the group, sure, but besides that... WHAT has she contributed? She almost never says or does anything that advances the story. She just occasionally comments on something. Bonnie and Clemont contribute plenty, both entertainment-wise and plot-wise, and Serena has little to no value, so far as the plot's concerned. :~/
AnnabethPlaysMC Gotta say though, in that latest episode where they meet Diantha, she really upped her game. She was providing ideas, dilemnas, the whole scoop! I hope she keeps this up! :~)
Nurse Joy- "Oh I see Tamashii I heal your Pokemon day and night to not even get a honorable mention..." Just kidding! Nice video once again! I like Elesa the best.
+Partycat 2007 yeah! Opinions! Can tear a nation apart, can bring a nation together, can cause people not to care at all! We are all safe unless some person just doesn't understand (u understand tho so that's good)
TrolledMC IT'S FOR MY OWN USE. I'LL CALL HIM *GARY MANGAFUCKING OAK* THEN, EGGHEAD. I'LL CALL HIM WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT. IF I WANT TO CALL HIM FLUFFNUTS MCFUCKING SUGARTITS, THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. #ALLCAPSFORINTENSITY
I didn't mind Iris what set me off and made me stop watching the series was the reset on Ash. It pissed me off. For gods sake how could one as experienced as Ash get completely wrecked by an untrained Snivy after battling numerous legendary Pokemon and winning, saving the world numerous times and ranking higher and higher each tournament he entered. Does that mean he just shouldn't have used Pikachu and all his other pokemon for the previous regions and just got himself an untrained snivy!? Hufff... there we go rant done.
Pikachu gets reset evertime. Because the shows are not made for the same old people that had been watching since previous series. It should be for new comers as well.
3:45 THANK YOU SO MUCH. Finally someone points out what went wrong in the transition to Black and White. I freaking loved Gen 4 because Ash was finally showing a lot of progress (plus Dawn was awesome), but OOOOOOOOOOOOH then it's like he got freaking amnesia and couldn't do a damn thing in Gen 5. I stopped watching after that and I just hope that somewhere along the line Ash get's back to his former self, and doesn't take another spiral down to stupidity. (Sorry for ranting but that just really pissed me off a while back.)
I hear he's just gotten out of rehab and is traveling around Kalos right now! Translation: I've heard he's much better (and cooler-looking!) in the new XY series.
well in bw he did remember his charizard and butterfree and in xy he remember memories before the coma( its a joke)but only after being reminded. and he had no idea what a poacher is and is still an idiot,(heck it was admitted in bw,a behhlyem episode in the later seasons
Effeminate was the wrong term to use for Green. It means traits in a male that are usually associated with a female. You'd want to use the opposite in this case, which would basically be "masculine". Its not really the perfect equivalent term, but I don't think there is one.
The thing is I really don't care if I get spoiled about #1 on this list. There should've been an option. Like, Stop watching if you DONT want to be spoiled, which I HIGHLY INSIST THAT YOU DO, but for those of you who don't care, here it is. There! Why couldn't you have done that?
D'aw, that's a great #1 choice, and I honestly felt the same way since I did that quest line earlier this week. I really want to see her and the other character in that side quest return in another game together.
So, in BW2, we knew the mom's name for the first time- Joy! If she used to be working at a Pokémon Center, then her first name might be Joy, unless she was working with the Union Room, or another thing on the top floor.
I think Misty is right person to take first place. Misty is my favorite character. She is perfect for Ash. She is talented, smart, kindhearted, beautiful, honest, hottest, intelligent, cutest, lovely then other pokegirls.
Watching this reminded me that one of my favorite things about team rocket is that over the seasons it is revealed that they aren't as bad as they were initially portrayed in the first season. All three of them have their own interesting back stories that would help the viewer understand why they turned to a life of crime.
Dawn! Best relationship with Ash. There is more of a mentor & pupil but Ash did learn from her as well. Using her contest & making into his strategy. Gotta lover Dawn.
Please don't hate on me, but... My favourite Pokegirl is Shauna from X/Y. I liked her from the beginning because she was so friendly. I got really attached to her during my first run through of X.
The fact that you said Emma at the end was such a surprise for me! I mean, she's just awesome! Did you know that Looker is actually a spoof off of the very popular and very long-running series Doctor Who? The Doctor, who they all call Doctor, is (usually) a funny, brave, and mysterious man who travels through time in a time-travelling phone box called the TARDIS, or Time And Relative Dimension In Space. He travels with a different female companion (Not a lady-friend, sometimes a kisser!) in almost every series. There are many popular ones, such as Rose, Amy, and my personal favorite, Clara. Anyway, Emma is definitely my favorite PokéGirl, too! I did the Looker sidequest and I absolutely loved it. Emma definitely has this special charm that makes you want to know more about her. Her story is definitely intriguing. Keep on keeping on, Tamashii! You're the best! - Skye
No offense, but I never liked Dawn. I know she's a kid, but I find her as annoying as Dora the Explorer. Heck, some of their lines are almost identical.
to you it is bad. to her it is good, and I like the list as well, why I would rearrange and replace some characters. Sabrina wouldn't be on my list either.
Bianca (Kanon) from Pokemon Heroes would be my favourite Poke-Girl because she was a very nostalgic Character and one of the most underrated Poke-Girl in the Anime I liked how much of a forgiving Character she was and has an adorable Friendship with Latias and Latios
My top 10 Pokegirls. 10. B/W Mom(Same reason as Tamshii) 9. May. She was my first rival. 8. Dawn. She had an okay personality, but at the same time, it was kind of annoying. 7. Misty(Games). I like water-types. 6. Misty(Anime) Misty, in the anime, was one of the few characters that had a good personality. 5. Green/Blue(I'm just going to call her Turquoise). She was one of the few Pokegirls that remind me of my family. She is underhanded, but still caring, much like my sister. 4. Whatever the female protagonist in B/W 1 name is(I legitimately can not remember.) She is one of the few protagonist who really seems to give a shit about their rival/s 3. Lass. This is a major copout, but those damn Clefairys! 2. Tate and Liza. The only gym leader/s I've ever lot too. 1. Flannery. I find her backstory extremely relatable. She was basically thrown into something with almost no previous knowledge, but even still, she did a good job! Also, she reminds me of my girlfriend. My girlfriend is a HUGE Pokémon player who always uses fire-types, but she doesn't really know HOW to use them. She knows what they can fight, but she still gets BODIED because she can't combat her weaknesses.
I feel like telling Emma's story with the spoiler warning first would not have been a problem at all, if yo udidn't wish to be spoiled, just go away, it was done either way, wasn't it :)? Also, I never even noticed that gender equality, but it truly IS there.
SPOILER, just in case for others. She's a street girl who you meet on that Looker sidequest and she has an Espurr as best friend. Looker takes her in, sort of adoptive daughter like. Looker and you take on a case with Pokemon being stolen, and the culprit is in some kind of biosuit. It ends up being, in that suit, unconscious and remote controlled by Xerosic, and ex-Team Flare member, Emma, forced to fight you several times over. She's eventually left with Lookers detective bureau, as that was only a coer-up for his job as International Police officer,
Personally, I feel the best Poke-girl is May. Simply because she went through arguably the most character development of all in the anime. She went from hating Pokemon to loving them - and that's quite the feat.
No. 1 in the anime for me aswell :)
Same here. I thought she and Ash had a great relationship too, which made it ever the more interesting to watch.
Me? I was happy to have a friendly rival for once, so May became my favorite in the anime and the games :D
what about saphere (I murderd the name)(sorry)
Pokemon is such a unique show for its non-forced gender equality. It'll be so easy to ramble on with an essay on this subject because it's so in depth! I'm so glad you made this video to help bring this to light! :D
Hey, I love your creepy pasta videos! And its great that you're a fan of Pokemon too! :)
Hi Creeps! Did you ever get my Creepypasta request in your eMail?
happy star wars day creeps! wanna join dah dark side WE HAVE COOKIEZ! XD
Yah! Creeps is here! I really enjoy you're readings! I'm glad to see you support Tamashii too!
(6/1/2018)
Iris did develop, her story was one of recovery.
She’s very biased against Sinnoh wouldn’t be surprised if she watched little
@@skibot9974 It's actually pretty easy to be "biased against" Sinnoh after having watched the G4 anime.
@@LittleAl016 how so?
@@skibot9974 The G4 anime is bad, that's why.
2:04 I wish that Pokemon would do stuff like that with dads too. I mean, the only time you see your dad is in Gen III, and it's pretty touching when you see him having to come to terms with the fact that his son/daughter is becoming even a more powerful trainer than him.
I mean just listen to what he says after you beat him:
"As the Gym Leader, I can't express how upset I am... But as a father, it makes me both happy and a little sad. It's odd..."
Why can't Pokemon have more dads like this??
you will be disappointed in bianca's dad in the anime....they could have portrayed him better...
I think the best most interesting moment for the dad in Gen 3 was in ORAS with the post game cutscene which gives us a hint into the type of relationship the mom and dad have which is something you don’t get to see often
I think Misty, Green and Yellow are definitely my faves!
Maybe :) I'll give it some thought
Cool, thanks Tamashii :)
TamashiiHiroka i love you in your videos i wish i was best master pokemon in my own world can you give us friend code do you have 2ds? i have 2ds
i dont think she will. she made this list because the lack of strong female characters in video games. pokemon is a perfect example. on another note. so does attack on titan.
Ashura kamiya =I agree with you
Misty loves her water types but hates bugs right? How would she react to Surskit?
MindstormXL umm.... good question...
Hmm... Surskit is more of a BUG/water, so she may freak out a little.
She likes bug Pokemon that she deems cute, and surskit is cute. Maybe she'd like it...?
She didn’t hate all bug Pokémon. Butterfree for example she didn’t mind.
She doesn’t dislike all Bug types. Butterfree, for example, she was fine with.
Misty will always be my favorite!
Amen bro
how do oyu get the looker side quest? i beat the game, and it seemed like there was nothing left to do aside from capture zygarde...
I really loved May! I know people tend not to like her, but there is something about her that earned a place in my hearth.
I know May is also my favorite for the same reasons
My Top 5 PokeGirls (In my opinion)
5.) Emma: Like Tamashii said, play the Looker side quest in X/Y. It'll bring a tear to your eye :')
4.) Clair: So....not a lot of people like her cause she doesn't give you a badge and blah blah blah. BUT, you get a Dratini with ExtremeSpeed in return, so I still don't get why so many people hate her. Honestly, she was the first dragon-type gym leader AND the first female to actually use them. Also, she uses one of my favorite pokemon!! (Kingdra :D)
3.) Dawn: My first game = Platinum. Anime I grew up with = Sinnoh Arc. Main female protagonist = DAWN. She was pretty kewl in her own way, if I do say so myself :3 Me and my best friend would always pretend to be Dawn (me) and Zoey (my best friend) and compete in "contests" where her brother was the judge XD *ahhh....so many memories from being a dumb 9 year old...*
2.) Karen: Dis gurl doe. Dem wurdz beh OFF DUH HOOK. *I'm trying to sound like a stupid person here...bear with me xD* The type she uses is her favorite. Her pokemon, too. I wish Agatha was more like her... *angry golfers be like....*
1.) Cynthia: God damn, do I even need to say anything about her? .......oh, you're still here? *She's amazing.* Case closed. Iris and Diantha are DIRT-*no, sratch that*-*NOTHING* compared to her, IMO. You want a real champion? Talk to Cynthia. She'll give you a challenge like no other. (Btw, her Garchomp isn't the issue. It's her Milotic and Togekiss that are as bulky as hell!!)
Your best friend and I got the same name.
For Girls: "This list is about which female in the Pokemon world represents the pride they have for the feminine race, they prove that they can be just as powerful and strong willing as men!"
For Guys: "This list is about who I would have bang with if I were in the Pokemon world
This guy.. this guy knows watsup
-_-
why do you think that all guys are like that did a guy hurt you
No matter how wrong it sounds, it is true.
Steven Hill let me tell you a little expression one bad apple doesn't represent the whole orchard
I really thought Dawn should've been on this list, but it is your list.
1. Dawn
2. May
3. Iris
4. Misty
5. Cynthia
Richo-senpai yeah i dont say how much i love dawn
incredible y While Misty is my fave poke girl, I remember pretty much really, really looking her when I was young. I just liked her Pokemon and her design and her voice, and just her carefree personality.
Oh. Nice
Iris is my favorite. Loved her from the start as a fan of Yuuki Aoi.
I like dawn more
Me too
Personally, Dawn is like the best character out there.
God I hate Pokeshippers (and Piplup likers)...
Ummm is it bad my favorite pokemon is Charmander? because I like it for the following reasons:
-Its cute
-the voice is so cute
-if you train it right its very loyal
-they evolve to become a flying pokemon ( I love flying pokemon)
Brohoof?
Will Bassman brohoof! :D
I'm am a girl tho but pegasisterhoof is just ridiculous!
soccerkins *pats head* You like flying types, huh? My favorite type is either Dark, Poison, Grass, or Fairy.
Will Bassman I like fire, flying, water, and dragon.
soccerkins I like poison types because of how balanced their stats are.
When I saw the first episode of black and white I was like How the hell do a level 5 Snivy beat a Level AT LEAST 50+ Pickachu?!
Pikachu resets lvls every start of a new journey lame right
alexis diaz nope in anime you winning by hitting stronger, but scenario just had to made sato lost somehow lol
If Knows leaf storm, then its not a lvl 5
It's kind of hard to compare the games to the anime now as so many Pokemon learn moves that they can't get through levelling. Example from X & Y is Ash's Fletchling which knows Steel Wing yet Steel Wing can only be learned via breeding. So everyone who says that Pikachu lost to a L5 Snivy hasn't really thought it through properly.
Plus everyone seems to conveniently forget that Zekrom had taken all of Pikachu's electricity and couldn't use electric attacks which did throw both Pikachu and Ash off of their battle plan.
Strafe2011 so Your trying to say that ash's fletchling(I mean before he met fletchling) was hatched and then flew away?
So, if they are remaking Ruby and Sapphire, DOES THAT MEAN MAY RETURNS IN THE X&Y ANIME??!??!??!?!!!!?
HOLY JESUS!!
WorusHD IMANGINE SERENA BEING JEALOUS OF HER BECAUSE SHE KNOWS ASH VERY WELL!!!!!
A POKEMON-BITCH-FIGHT!!!!
***** I see what you did there :D
I think May has a better ash then Serena.
Man, for the pokemon fans out there. You really have to stop watching the anime and read the manga. The manga is a faithful adaptation of the Pokémon Video Game Series not to mention gives a more interesting and at times darker storyline.
TheNorth15 but the manga is too dark and serious, like Red was frozen for months and.........well, end of story
nah boring
TheNorth15 elitism
TheNorth15 but what if i don’t want to
We don't have too
Screw Blue, screw Green, I'm gonna just call her Aqua (Light Blue and light Green mixed).
I was thinking of that too XD
I really liked your explaining Jessie's backstory, especially her mom. I've been wondering for ages how Jessie and James haven't been "fired" yet for being grade A failures. If her Mom was that important they might be giving her leeway to reach her mother's potential. And James has the potential to be filthy rich. This is obviously my headcanon but I do appreciate you filling in that gapping hole.
That's pretty much why they haven't been fired. Jessie due to Giovanni having respect for her mom and James due to having a very rich family.
Interesting to see a top 10 PokéGirls list made by an actual girl, so the list is not just "i liek dis gurl cuz shez hawt".
or the waifu type
finally someone who love iris
I love Iris too
Later Boi i love her because of nostalgia
I love her as well
I love Iris 😊
I also like iris. She doesn't deserve the hate she gets. She is underrated
May is #1.
BECAUSE HOENN CONFIRMED.
You're hilarious...but I totally agree. XD
Awoken Black Star Yeah, I get what you mean on that one; the league in the games is just battling trainers while in the anime has a tournament.
Delicious sandwich Then you’ll probably like the ‘Serena’ in Pokemon Adventures manga
I like Serena's Manga and Game version (plus her Manga name is cool). Anime Serena is couldn't really get behind.
my favorite female in pokemon is ash
I see what you did there.
Guapadude d(-_-)b
1. Either Dawn or May, I like them equally
2. Misty
3. Iris
4. Serena (Maybe I'd like her if she didn't have an obvious crush on Ash and actually did something)
yes same 💗
your choices are perfect, speccially emma, shes so cool that i think she deserves to be part of the next game, even if in post game stuff
EMMA!!!! I can't express how glad I am that she gets some recognition!!! I LOVE HER!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
my favourite pokégirls
5. jessie [come on give us a break, she has her episodes
4. serena
3. may or sapphire
2. dawn [from the games/anime]
1. misty
lowkey savage IKR
0. James
Taha Mohammad HAHAHA
I like iris :(
I think she was different and not a back-offy type of pokemon girl. She just pointed out ash's flaws, and fans couldn't take it (My opinion).
True
Wow, no Elesa? Man, that's a shocker. Yeah, I personally like both Elesa and Roxie mostly because they are (so far) the only two Pokémon gym leaders with heavy music themes.
IM LAUGHING HARDER THAN I SHOULD'VE AT "THAT'S SHOKER"
lol Well most of these types of lists that I've seen or heard have her on it. XD
I like elesa
My friends and I do gym leader battles in X and Y and I am Elesa XD
Hahaha, wow, when I typed that, I totally didn't realize that she was the electric type gym leader! XD XD
I SOOOOOOOOOOO agree with #1! Emma is probably the best character in the series! (spoilers but I guess its to late for that now.)
OH FUM BUCKETS
I LOVE the part about the mother! I have always found it hilarious how your mother never bothers to worry about her child, let alone care about him/her.Totally subscribing to u!
The only thing I can remember about the mom is a certain from chuggaconroy’s black and white play through. That quote is “Dude,my mom is hot!”
My favorite pokegirls (I'm only using the girls that traveled with Ash)
1. Misty
2. Dawn
3. Iris
4. May
5. Serena
I feel like I'm going to get some hate for this list...
She had so many funny parts, and she was fun to ship Ash with :3
Your opinion sucks
D3ADM0N5T3R Ok, and so does your opinion!
I agree with your list, I like Misty but Serena annoys me.
well, in my opinion May should be on the top 3, I disliked Iris because of her attitude, she was pretty proud or arrogant in some cases. everyone has their own opinion I respect yours so don't complain (:
There's a lack of Dawnnnnnnn!!!!!!! Needs more Dawnnnnnnn!!!!!!
10: X/Y Mom was awesome!
9: Understandable and I hated Agatha
8: One of my most hated Poke'mon girls, but okay Champion
7: So so
6: Okay
5: Good good
4: Perfect!
Agreed.
I guess why other people hate Iris are AshxMisty shippers.
I dont hate Iris, I just find her annoying. And just saying, Iris isn't champion in the anime, and Iris didn't really catch dragonite, dragonitie volunteered to go with her.
You hate coordinators? '_______' DESTROY ALL HUMANS
King of Everything AGREED.
Geko Inerte ohh no I'm a coordinator myself 😝
May is the best. Seriously.
Also, SerenaXAsh and MayXBrendan.
Don't Argue.
NickGaming3 Omg I agree with you, its like were twins! MayXBrendan!!!!
:D
NickGaming3 B-B-B- but dawn is my favorite girl, '_______' DESTROY ALL HUMAAAAAANS!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely right.
May is best
Misty is, and will always be my favorite.
David Katz
You pick on the one you like. ;)
I personally like Cynthia. She's the best written champion in all the pokemon games and anime. And I'm assuming that this was written before Serena's character arc. I also really like Dawn because she's just so interesting!! She is following her mothers career and I just find that pretty interesting!
What "character arc"?
Yeah serena character was liking ash
Platinum was my first game. No other champion has ever given me trouble after that. *shudder* I can still remember that spiritomb...
Same here, I feel you pain, hated the thing
How much trouble i had... It was unbearable........
the milotic was what made that battle hell
Almost forgot about that thing and combined with the spiritomb and if you didnt O-Hit KO the Garchomp...
I was breeding them earlier in Y I now have 5 that are over 4 IV and exactly 30 others...
i never finished the Pokemon Yellow manga. and now im upset that i didn't cause thats a pretty big reveal
We need more Pokegirls like Iris in the anime. I want a Pokegirl who travels with Ash just to decimate him in battle at every chance. Or one where she and Ash both want to be Pokemon Masters, and she ends up winning against Ash in the end.
True. Iris actually became a gym leader inheriting from Drayden. She achieved the most of all.
I'm happy she didn't spoil the ending because i still haven't done the looker event!
-_-
I know my friend told me the same story (I recently got fire emblem awakening and i can't stop playing, what i want to so bad!)
worth it
***** same
Zeus Pluchino i played the event it brought me to crying
6:48 about #6, since you said that Bianca has a "lack of talent" and "isn't that skilled"... Maybe not at first, no, but she *does* appear in the World Tournament in Black 2 & White 2, which at least in-universe would make her one of the best trainers in the world.
I loved Sapphire and Platinum from Adventures. Sapphire, because we see a lot of growth in her character to go from a wild girl who absolutely hated Ruby to being a more sensitive girl who loves Ruby. Platinum, because she was hands down funniest female Pokemon character without even trying, she was a sheltered girl who had no idea about the real world, and seeing her mingle with the two idiots of Diamond and Pearl was a gem on its own :D
Quick question, Tamashii, do you agree with the idea of booting Ash off the series? It was fun when he was in Kanto, but all he is now is a spare part when all the audience wants to see is a good protagonist native to the new region who has a different spin to their character. Am I right or wrong here?
Very much right. We either need for Ash to turn 11 or an entirely new protagonist. XD
My reaction to the first episode of Black/White:
Did a level 50+ Pikachu just lose to a LEVEL 5 SNIVY?! No. I'm fucking done. I'm fucking done! THIS IS BULLSHIT!!
Yep I never watched another episode after that
After 4 regions I think Pikachu is around 90-100 level range but that still doesn't explain why he got whooped by a starter
Misty will always be #1 in my heart, but its hard to disagree with Emma as your #1 pick. She has an amazing story in the game, which i really enjoyed. It was a shame it was so short.Good list overall, nice to see something from you
I know what u mean by "the story brought a tear to my eye" I was the same way but I didn't know it would include girls from the show
My list (only the girls in the show)
(And there are only two on da list)
2. May
Maybe I'm a little biased because I was expecting more, though.
AnnabethPlaysMC
I'd like it if she just... DID something. :~/
I've only been watching the english dub, but have you noticed just how little she's done?
She's had two episodes centered around her once she joined the group, sure, but besides that... WHAT has she contributed?
She almost never says or does anything that advances the story. She just occasionally comments on something.
Bonnie and Clemont contribute plenty, both entertainment-wise and plot-wise, and Serena has little to no value, so far as the plot's concerned. :~/
Mayeur000Donz I know right? Even Pikachu does more...
AnnabethPlaysMC
Gotta say though, in that latest episode where they meet Diantha, she really upped her game. She was providing ideas, dilemnas, the whole scoop!
I hope she keeps this up! :~)
Misty will always be my number one! ;-) I like her and we have a similar character. We even look a little bit alike.
I love how in Pokemon the Pokemon Center celebrates your birthday, but your mom doesn't even care.
Where's James?
Youngster Joey o right bc James cross dresses and shit
I have done the looker side quest and was impressed with Emma's story and I understand the #1 pick
May's my favorite one.
Nurse Joy- "Oh I see Tamashii I heal your Pokemon day and night to not even get a honorable mention..."
Just kidding! Nice video once again! I like Elesa the best.
Misty. She is tomboy and all,but she sure has a very lovely side. Her design in 4th gen games is the best.
My fav pokegirls :
5.Emma
4.Iris
3.Misty
2.Jessie
1.Dawn
ItsMagicalBunny 55
I HATE DAWN.
my opinion
+Partycat 2007 ok..... But we're all free to have our own opinions. :)
ItsMagicalBunny 55
Yes! Finally! Someone who understands the meaning of opinions!!!!
+Partycat 2007 yeah! Opinions! Can tear a nation apart, can bring a nation together, can cause people not to care at all! We are all safe unless some person just doesn't understand (u understand tho so that's good)

I'm glad Misty was on the list, I've always looked up to her (^_^) and I'm glad Cynthia is on the list too. (she's so hot!)
@@CoolCrescent186 This comment is 5 years old my dude, I don't even remember commenting this

Wut?
lol (sorry Gary Mangafucking Oak)
K...then Iam gary mangafucking oak (xD)
A separate video on the Looker Post Game Side Quest would be very much appreciated :D
When you said Emma I was like WOOHOOO first she is my favorites too because aw that story line though and also my name is Emma so yay! Haha
My name is Emma too! :D
:D
her story makes me want to cry :')
Same here! It's typically hard to make me cry, but her story as well as AZ meeting his Pokémon again broke me down...
ik so sad ;-;
It was annoying, but the show would have been BORING AS SHIT if he was that powerful
ZachaRic O Thanks I'll check it out again, I saw the trailer and he didn't seem too bad.
well in bw he did remember his charizard and butterfree and in xy he remember memories before the coma( its a joke)but only after being reminded. and he had no idea what a poacher is and is still an idiot,(heck it was admitted in bw,a behhlyem episode in the later seasons
Didn't know what a POACHER was?! #Fail
if nothing else Ash started off better in gen 6 then gen 5 so we can only hope he makes the same or better improvements in skill now in gen 6.
I'm sure you'll figure it out from someone.
Emma's story also brought a tear to my eye and then you can see there's the picture of you, her, and looker
I wonder if Lillie would be on this list if sun and moon were out at the time
Hell. Yes.
Dawn is my favorite
Mudkip989 yes dawn is the best your whats app numbr plzz we will chat about pokemon
Mine too
D'aw, that's a great #1 choice, and I honestly felt the same way since I did that quest line earlier this week. I really want to see her and the other character in that side quest return in another game together.
WHY DID YOU REMIND ME OF EMMA I WAS CRYING WHEN THAT SCENE WAS OVER
So, in BW2, we knew the mom's name for the first time- Joy! If she used to be working at a Pokémon Center, then her first name might be Joy, unless she was working with the Union Room, or another thing on the top floor.
Fanofkatyperry1 Wait...this also means that the main character in BW2 is related to every Nurse Joy ever!
Meowus Nimbus In Gen 4 the mother is called Johanna :)
Poke Fan Oh yeah...but in BW2 we weren't actually told the mom's name, in-game, but we were told Johanna's name in Hearthome City.
Calling the girl Blue in the Japanese manga makes much more sense because she has water Pokemon.
Was I the only one who thought it was odd the Blue's Blastoise flew away using hydro pump with Blue when they lost the Pokemon League
Definitely agree on Emma. Why did that story have to be so short though? :(
>title picture of May
>May isn't on list
HERESY!
My Queen will hear of this!
Dawn! Best relationship with Ash. There is more of a mentor & pupil but Ash did learn from her as well. Using her contest & making into his strategy. Gotta lover Dawn.
Yeah, they even in the anime had a handshake! Not any other female accomplice really has such a relationship.
Emma is the best for me too! She makes me cry every time I remember her.
1.Misty
2.Dawn
3.May
What, Tamashii? Shouldn't you be on the list ;)
sut up noob tamasha is awsome se should b on the list
***** That's exactly what he was saying....
Shut Up.
srry...
- Skye
4:56 More skilled than Ash? Who isn't, really?
Misty is my number 1 by far... she could came back :(
No love for Dawn? =(
No offense, but I never liked Dawn. I know she's a kid, but I find her as annoying as Dora the Explorer. Heck, some of their lines are almost identical.
CoolNala
That doesnt mean she isnt a good character. If she was all perfect and was never annoying you guys would just call her a mary sue.
No no it's already finished goodbye
JakePlays Pokemon
Wasnt talking to you, goodbye.
JakePlays Pokemon
u mad bro?
once they bring back Misty, I'll start watching pokemon again -__-.
Misty is Love Misty is Life
Can someone tell me why Emma is so special?
Play the mission, or read the top comment
CAJ9080 There is no top comment with the story
Play the looker chapters or watch a video of someone playing them
I don't have the time someone please explain it to me in short DX
It's a long story, you need to see it for yourself or its not the same
I love may and dawn and they will be great top coordinators.
Skimmed through, didn't see Sabrina, proceeded to throw up uncontrollably.
it's an opinion.
It's a bad one apparently
to you it is bad. to her it is good, and I like the list as well, why I would rearrange and replace some characters. Sabrina wouldn't be on my list either.
I'm not a village in africa or a bundle of sticks. go be butthurt hurt about a character not being on someone else's list somewhere else.
Troll much?
Bianca (Kanon) from Pokemon Heroes would be my favourite Poke-Girl because she was a very nostalgic Character and one of the most underrated Poke-Girl in the Anime I liked how much of a forgiving Character she was and has an adorable Friendship with Latias and Latios
I have to agree, Emma's story is really sad but awesome!
Wait, Misty lives Water types but is scared of Bug pokemon. What would be her reaction to Surskit, a Water/Bug type?
Kill it gently with fire?
But would Misty love or hate Surskit because of its Water/Bug status?
By the way: Misty feminine? Are you kidding? She's one of the most masculine girls ever conceived in fiction!
I don't see how... she's even officialy known as the tomboy mermaid.
Emuel Jletgler
im with ya i always disliked misty.. with PASSION but hey, opinions opinions :P
my favorite is dawn shes so pretty :3
*****
that doesnt make her a guy but it does make her boy-ish :P
Boy-ish =/= feminine
truestory
My top 10 Pokegirls.
10. B/W Mom(Same reason as Tamshii)
4. Whatever the female protagonist in B/W 1 name is(I legitimately can not remember.) She is one of the few protagonist who really seems to give a shit about their rival/s
You mind telling me Emma's story?
I'm probably never gonna X/Y anyways.
She's eventually left with Lookers detective bureau, as that was only a coer-up for his job as International Police officer,
Interesting...
Dark Knight the emma story actually made me sad ;-; I have pokemon x and when I went to that point it was sad for me ._.
