The problem is, buying game from a local game butcher isn’t cheap. Plus it’s very difficult to get on land to shoot any wild game. So in reality eating sustainable game is for wealthier people or the fortunate ones who have permission to shoot on someone’s land.
@@JohnSmith-cs7jgI think you will find it is actually very easy to get cheap sustainable game, especially if you live in the countryside. There are a few shoots near me which always have excess birds, and will sell pheasant, duck and goose for £0.50-£1 per brace. People don’t want animals they have to do work with to eat unfortunately
I had the pleasure of hosting Murray in a chalet many years ago in Switzerland. A truly lovely man. Great to see he is living the traditional life I aim for.
Such a great video, Thomas! Love how you combine respect for nature with a sustainable approach to cooking. The stalking and cooking process was fascinating to watch, and the venison ragu looked absolutely delicious.
used to work with a guy who hunted dear he used to give me legs of venison all the time and his wife used to make venison curry burgers sausages etc i love venison
@@MrDukeSilverr Fallow Deer is great eating much more like a small calf, Roe and Muntjac also great eating. If you like Beef you will usually like Venison.
Traditional, wholesome, sustainable, living off the land, what more would you want , we need more of this life , apart from those pheasant shoots what other game is open to the general public? A question , is this a past time for the rich ? I hope not as we all need to appreciate good living / food .... Could smell that Ragu
We have Roe deer round us, where we are in West Sussex. Contantly stealing the food off the Red deer that my father-in-law manages!! Thank you for including the farmers reasoning for needing to have their population managed, people need to understand we cant just "let nature be" because it'll start causing all sorts of problems, for people and wildlife alike!!
I don't understand how this hasn't blown up.....your videos are so beautifully shot and the content is fantastic...this page needs more attention
Woooo thank you for promoting British, wild, sustainable meat!
Please get Thomas on the podcast.

Sustainable until they commercialise it to make money. Greed always ruins things 😢

I recently moved to Suffolk and I love it, living in these more rural/ farming counties is to die for. A different way of life I have found

Loving this viewing on a Sunday with a glass of wine. I’m sure we’ve had a drink together at the wine bar in Aber, 90’s.

MSG is a salt enhancer.
Fuiyoh! 🎉
best channel ever
Ch. Potensac - ok!! First Bordeaux I bought in a case (1984 vintage - ropey) great video but I still feel slighted. Potensac is excellent value

Does anybody know the brand of the burner he is using here?
Yessss
Epic
Tom I got that coat 😂
My man must've had quite the career in banking and finance lmao
Beautiful dog, what breed?
This is what I’m wanting to know as well
Cocker spaniel I think, I have a King Charles spaniel, which is equally beautiful but about half the size. Natural hunting and foraging dogs
Something tells me this isn't the first time Tom's signed a tea towel
Murray is exactly the sort of name a guy in that job should have
hes a better chef.
Why didn’t you show the cutting up of the deer
only thing I don't like is how majority or the show has background music or added noise , maybe just a little bit less
Hi
sup
Yo
Murray’s a chap…as is Straker.
16:15 burn 💀
Unctuous, such an underused word !
So venison bolognese 😅
Also nice knife 🔪 👌
It’s a shame game meat isn’t readily available, as it’s the most natural and healthy meat you can eat.
Go to a Farmers market, meet a game keeper. You will get all the game you can handle.
@ I do, farmers markets are great, just not enough of them
12:22 subliminal messaging?
Chef thinks the sudafirkans a twet
Perfect example of tax dodging ‘farmers’, and immigrants as well.
nice thumbnail Tommy, living out your daddy's SAS dreams but shooting deer instead of children
I can't drink because I'm on antibiotics. Come on man, sort it out
What are you on about??
Under dr orders.
You swear too much....how can someone leave a comment like that. Maybe try to swear even more just to rub it in?
