Kia Carens Petrol Variants Explained | Premium, Prestige/Plus, Luxury O, Luxury/Plus, X-line

The Carens is available with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The Carens is 4540mm long, 1800mm wide and 1708mm tall. Bigger exterior dimensions give a car a stronger road presence. The Carens has a 2780mm long wheelbase. A long wheelbase makes the car more stable at high speeds and gives better legroom in the back seat, while a shorter wheelbase makes the car more agile.
The Kia Carens is available with 3 engine options: a 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol, a 1.5L turbo Petrol and a 1.5L turbo Diesel.
The 1.5L naturally aspirated Petrol makes 115PS of power at 6300rpm and 144Nm of torque at 4500rpm. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5L turbo Petrol churns out 160PS of power at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500 and 3500rpm. The 1.5L turbo Petrol engine gets a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.
The 1.5L turbo Diesel is rated to deliver 116PS of power at 4000rpm and 250Nm of torque between 1500 and 2750rpm. You can get the 1.5L turbo Diesel engine of the Carens with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic and a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed TC.

It really depends on what engine do you want, na petrol turbo petrol or diesel

Whatever may be the engine/ transmission, prospective buyers should buy the variant with rear window defogger & wiper. This is an important & useful safety feature that cannot be fitted aftermarket. Not sure why manufacturers skip this very important safety feature in lower variants. This feature is very useful in rainy days and also during fog/ misty conditions. Those who travel to hills frequently or even occasionally will find this feature very useful & maybe lifesaving as well !!!

Even fog lights are missing in most cars nowadays or given only in top variant. Atleast if throw of lights not good enough then fog lamps can help. They should come with halogen setup and cornering function as well

My car doesn't have rear wiper and defogger, but it has reverse camera which I ise while driving it is far more useful than looking through the rear window.

Hi, Can you throw some light on if buying a base model and upgrading /modifying car for like replacing halogen lamps to led, drl , cruise control and ambient lighting can void insurance of the car given the work has been done coupler to coupler? What should b ethe process. Ive heard we need to let the insurance company know and they can increase the premium. Can u help with the details?

The only problem with the Prestige (O) variant is that it only comes with the NA engine, and not the Turbo. It doesn't even have an Automatic transmission or at the least, the IMT to compensate for the lack of power in the NA engine itself.

It offers 15 inch steel wheels with 195/65 specs in 1.5L Petrol so will it be alright if we use 205/65 R16 alloy wheel in this petrol variant?

@@vbx64 can I use 205/60 instead of 65 because by using 60mm the deviation of the tyre profile is coming near to 2.5 whereas with 65mm it is coming more than 5

Better go with the OEM top model wheel specification just to be safe bruh. Stick to 205/65/R16, larger sidewall aids in comfort too
