That is fun rocking song. Ladies introduce in manner very electrifying. That is Midori (guitar) and Miho (bass) show off but all girls, Asami vocal, Miyako guitar and Haruna drums are top notch as well. Nice reaction.
I want to explain a little about Miyako's phenomenal performance on stage and the fact that it is in no way noticeable on her stony expression. 1. Miyako, from her 30s to 27, studies the piano: she is a full-fledged academic pianist. Have you ever seen an academic pianist without a poker face? It happens, but very rarely. The speed with which Miyako fills the same Chopin with his fingers is amazing, the concentration there is total. Likewise, she plays the guitar, often playing fast piano parts in both hands. 2. Miyako is the second most lively and responsive musician on the team after Asami (watch the related videos). 3. There is a backstage video of the footage of these video concerts - there they filmed Miyako exhausted and tired literally rushing into the support. There is a lot of work on her part, even her guitar pedalboard has 2-3 times more effects than Midori's compact guitar pedalboard. Even in these videos from their video concert, you can find moments where Miyako was filmed in those moments when you can see how she drops her shoulders or the guitar or plays the guitar intensively, follows a complex melody with head movements, swimming after the main line of the composition (for example, on video "We the United") 4. (This is my guess) Miyako seems to be holding down his heels a little here. If you find and watch their tour concerts, where Miyako is in boots, she dances with a guitar no less than Midori and Miho. At the very end, I want to say my opinion: On the contrary, I like it when all the fun, all the talent, all the energy comes out of the musician precisely through his musical instrument in the first place. Although I also like the hyperactive Midori very much - they look like two opposites, and this, in its own way, also looks very interesting on stage.
...Recently, Miyako tweeted that she simply could not resist and cry if this year they finally take the stage and play live in front of live listeners, after such a break due to the pandemic. It's amazing how an outwardly static person is so sensitive inside and loves his job.
Being flashy on stage its not really Miyako's thing, probably because of her classical music education if i had to guess. As a fan i do wish she was more connected to the crowd, but in the end i dont really mind it because her talent as a composer and guitarist/pianist does the talking for her! The rest of the band are more active for sure and i feel Asami is great with the crowd. I really enjoy these videos man, and appreciate the honesty! Let me suggest a few songs - Empty Daydream, Swan Song, Epilogue, Shadowmaker - all Live! Hope you enjoy and stay safe! edit: Also i'd say you should check out Band Maid, they are a Hard Rock female band from Japan, and very talented musicians, i think you will enjoy it.
a little tips, there are 3 female groups(Japan) that are great for your content and viewers. they are Lovebites, Band Maid and Babymetal. But it depends on you :)
The other day, Miyako said, "I might cry for joy when I play on the stage for the first time in a long time after the Corona." She showed an unexpected side of her cool. I was a little surprised.
Midori is the flashy Malmsteen lover while Miyako was a classical trained pianist from age 3 and didn't start the guitar till she was 18. She was trained to let your music speak on stage not your personality and that is why she is often, unfairly called the Ice Queen. Haruna the 4' 8" drummer with no heels is just a ball of smiling energy from start to finish and Miho the bassist is a Iron Maiden addict who really keeps everyone in line. Asami the vocalist has become a great front woman for the band and as a LIVE vocalist she has become awesome. If you want to see Miyako piano skills try either Empty Daydream (ruclips.net/video/lXh_uMM94jU/видео.html) or Epilogue (ruclips.net/video/JGzdspVDZeU/видео.html).
I enjoy your comments but the one remark I may have is that, to my understanding, you are equating stage presence (to simplify) with smiling, running around and interacting with the audience. My favorite band was/is Rush and there were times they interacted and fooled around but other times they were too busy playing the song to do anything else but stand there and play. I get it and really enjoy bands like Slipknot and BABYMETAL where this occurs, but I also enjoy concerts where the band just stands there and creates magic. Ironically (or not) my favorite band member is Miyako, and I love her stage presence, but I have also seen a lot of live Jazz and classical concerts where this is the norm. You coming from a metal background may feel different. Peace.
I appreciate your input! you're absolutely right. I just think it's the background of music that I typically listen to. I have never really listened to much jazz or classical music.
Funny thing, Miyako gets some flak for her emotionless face on stage, but she is, imo, the "busiest" member on stage. There's a number of songs where she switches instruments a lot (acoustic to piano to electric to piano to electric). She sings most of the backup vocals I think, although there are also group chants. She does some interlude piano songs. So aside from just her personality and classical background and the heels, I think she's also concentrating on what she needs to do. They also all do their own pedals. So it's very impressive how the band sounds as good as, if not better, than their studio versions. To see is still hard to believe. And she's not really emotionless, just subtler in how she expresses her emotions. Like in her solo in Holy War, she rolls her shoulders and neck. Or sometimes she spins in place. Or that thing in We The United, which you haven't watched yet so don't miss it when you do. Although it's kinda funny how she sometimes walks to a different part of the stage, stands for 5 seconds, then returns to her spot. So unnatural XD Anyway, since she's so reserved, it's more of a treat when you catch her show some emotions. And ironically, in a recent interview in the middle of lockdown, she was the one who said she questions the point of her existence when she can't play in lives.
I'll deff have to be on the lookout for the little spins, and body language! thank you for information and checking out the video! I think they are a great band and I am excited to check out more of them!
I think she does it on purpose. They borrow something from the pop industry where each member has a thing they are known for, and she is the ice princess (they call it tsun tsun).
Good to see someone with critical reactions (I subbed) who is listening and watching carefully instead of goofy overzealous head banging while talking over the music. No matter how good the musician if the songwriting isn't there the band is generally not sustainable. For being at this a little over 3 years the songwriting catalog and amount of memorable hooks is what amazes me, and the quiet one, along with another not seen classically trained defacto "member" are putting these together. There is no doubt that their firm grasp of music theory combined this rock/metal style is why we are getting the variety and quality in the song structure and composition. I guess what piques my interest the most is what comes next? I really hope the money behind them doesn't just keep pushing and pushing and burn them out as a lot of Japanese music companies do. Let them breathe and live and then those experiences will translate into depth in their music. Or push push push until it all just breaks down. I was never a big fan of Babymetal, though unique. They are 10 years into this and have been touring non stop, ex COVID, for the last 7 years. And the front of the band were basically kids. Yet they have been pushed and pushed and pushed. One of the girls obviously couldn't handle all the pressure and broke down along the way. At least these girls (Lovebites) are old enough and mature enough to handle the stress but still they have been non stop 24-7 for 3 years now. To get as tight as they are live (and i'm not sure how much studio enhancement is being used for their live DVD's) in 3 years means blister city in the rehearsal studio. Let's hope they hang in there.
I definitely appreciate teh compliment.. I think people think I am just gonna be a person that only ever has good things to say, and is over-reacting to the music and being dramatic.. that's just not who I am.. I will be critical of even the bands I love.. not because I don't like them but it's just things I see.. that's the type of person I am.. I am highly critical of myself. I want to read their lyrics, look at who they are on stage.. how they play, the way the play.. etc.. I think this band has a ton of potential and i'd love to see them keep pushing themselves forward.
Back when I played, I was the guy who kept my head down and didn't move around much. I always preferred jamming in the basement to being on stage in front of an audience. In the early days, I wasn't a skilled player, so I had to really concentrate on what I was doing, stood still and looked at my hands to make sure I was playing the right chords, but later, when I was still not a skilled player but I was a whole lot more skilled than I once was, I still didn't move much of look up a whole lot, and it was more a nerves thing, I guess. Or not so much nerves, I was just a bit of an introvert. I was the primary songwriter (music, our singer was the main lyricist) and I loved everything about being in a band, coming up with songs usually by jamming for hours and hours with our drummer, the camaraderie, meeting other bands and getting into gigs for free, I loved the fact that we played original songs as opposed to covers, and I loved the idea of getting them recorded properly. I was totally into it, not bored or disinterested or whatever people might say about musicians who aren't very showy on stage. Luckily our singer was a maniac, so I could get away with lurking in the shadows. I do love watching Midori though...
It seems to be a 'thing' recently for the newer fans of Lovebites to bombard the comment sections with negativity. It's not cool. Thank you for giving Lovebites some more of your time 🤘
Midori went to a college of music and became a fantastic guitarist. She was in a not very popular pop rock trio before she was invited by Miho to join Lovebites. So yes she has the pop rock star attributes and am very comfortable interacting with the audience.
This song sounds like Steel Dragon. I forget the guys name who wrote the music for them, he was a hair metal guy and wrote music for a few bands they could have listened to.
good reaction and review as always, don't forget another great song "break the wall" and "shadowmaker" from the same concert Break the wall : thrash metal Shadowmaker : power metal ruclips.net/video/j5xVI7bBl2E/видео.html
i was wondering what band this guys played for ? I wanna compare his bands to lovebites ? i love it when people criticized others but yet they cannot produce the same result. maybe jealousy ? lol
Thanks for still want reaction to this band.🙏 in every song performance, they have their own style. sometimes silence and concentration, and sometimes dancing around the stage. They also have their own character. Miyako ( les paul Gibson ) has a cold, expressionless character. Midori ( black guitar ) enjoyed the time and smiled a lot. Haruna the cheerful drummer. The vocalist asami moves a lot. And miho bassist is more friendly.
if you want to see something rare from the Japanese take a look at Lovebite's "Journey to the Otherside", that is Miho's (bass) song about her father, then you will see a lot different about this band! good reaction!
I came upon them a month ago and have watched some everyday since--I took notice early on that Miyako wasn't very animated but SO WHAT!! She's an iincredible guitarist-Not sure why any explanations about her classical training is even necessary-she plays her ass off-I don't know if at least a teeny part of that is a persona-I find the contrast interesting.. I saw Clapton with Cream-Derek and Dominoes-Blind Faith--he was great back then but wan't running around the stage and wasn't smiling ear to ear.-he was just kicking ass-saw Hendrix- he was Hendrix-Mick Taylor with Stones never moved an inch. or had an expression of any sort- Jimmy Page was all over the place. If everyone in stood stood around moping it would be problematic-Love Bites plays great music-we are in a world where everyone has an opinion.-a reaction. For the most part I enjoy the music and shut up!
Raise some hell is 1 of my least favorite from Lovebites, mostly cause of the lyrics and the less technical composition. When they move around less, it is almost always because they need to use the switch in front of them like in Holy war. Other songs that are different in styles are Epilogue; power ballad, Dancing with the devil: old school rock, Swan song: melodic rock. All of them have live version available
Speaking about 'smile and show the fun to play', some cultural matters would be taken into consideration IMO. For example, I can't imagine a smiling Russian metal band lol
Would recommend Swan Song or Empty Daydream live for two different moods again. At first Midori was also my favourite member for the same reasons. I used to be puzzled by the Ice Princess vibe you see on stage right but ‘Swan Song’ in particular changed that.
Now you saw why I love Midori. She is so fun to watch in this song. And the drummer Haruna smiles most of the time. The only one that you cant see if she enjoys is Miyako. And its an old subject... Maybe time to try some softer side of them?
midori is alot of peoples favorites however miyako the black haired guitarist is probably the best female guitarist in all of japan and not to mention she is a musical genius and a piano prodogy which she has been playing for like 27 yrs and guitar only 12 yrs please let me know what you think
It is all about the music... Classical music as well is great in another level and it has so skilled musicians and they don't run around! ;-) But Miyako is the icequeen of this band.. classical trained. It shows. The song and instrument comes first! Do We the United from this concert!
Although I can see where you're coming from, we must remember people are different and there are people who may have different reactions to different things. There are people who are more chill and wouldn't be that active or smile that much even if they like what they're doing. There are people who get really concentrated and might be kind of absent to the outside world, etc. So sometimes it's just that, not that they don't like it. Anyway, Lovebites is always fun to me. The guitarist you said you like is Midori Tatematsu. Never talked to her aside from one or other message by twitter but she seems to be an amazing person to have around, she is pretty cool and positive, very active and nice. Miyako, the other guitarist, seems to be more introverted. I don't see she smiling that much and even when I see her with the other ladies, she is more quiet and reserved (but she is very fond of her pets!). "Swan Song" might be a good choice for the next song. When it comes to a band who seems to be having fun on stage, I think of SCANDAL. They're all around in terms of rock, they have been playing together for 14 years and they still looks like they're just starting, they're all veeeery good friends with each other and that reflects pretty nicely on stage. You could try "Scandal Baby", it's kind of their anthem: ruclips.net/video/15rxLr-3R8Y/видео.html
So many similar comments from professional side, but amateur side don't care about musicians on the stage how much they smile and how they are happy. The blond guitarist is just like that she is enjoying to show off, and the other grumpy serious guitarist is just like that but how can you tell that she is not having good time, is reluctant. Just let's attach to the sound, she sounds so emotional and that emotion flows all over from her guitar. That tells everything. Just try some other titles that she plays some ballads. The grumpy guitarist is a concert pianist who also plays guitar, and classic musicians don't show smile or entertain audience while they are performing beside with the sound, you should understand it. We are not expecting happy clowns on stage. We want their musicianship, not extreme showmanship. Have a good one.
lol..did you get ripped?...LoveBites fans ARE fanatical in the truest sense. I was lucky enough to see their first vid release, Don't Bite The Dust in 2017, ran to Ebay to an importer and bought the Cd, have done so ever since and have everything they've done now. We can be "touchy" when it comes to the best power metal band since Maiden And Priest...lmao. One must walk carefully through the masses of their idolizers...it can be a dangerous journey for those attempting to critic...LMAO...it's either JOIN US or DIE....or run very very fast out of the room...lmao Miyako is my favorite of the two, but I adore Midori too, Miyako's "presence" is "Solemn ATTITUDE"...the one you like, Midori, her attitude is "Extrovert ENERGY.". They play off each other very well IMO. They've put out 5 albums, and 2 live dvd/cds since 2017..until covid they were constantly on tour, from dives in London to Wacken and other big metal festivals, they are extremely connected and interactive with their fans on FB, Twitch, Streams and in person....trust me, they LOVE what they are doing.
Congrats. This is a Real Metal music and real sound. not music to satanic people using electronics crunch sound effect where nobody knows the real voice of singer. The lights wins the war.
on another reaction video, someone who seemed fairly knowledgeable suggested that there had been some sort of casting recently... because if you take the trouble to look at other older Lovebites concerts, Miyako is very present on stage! maybe not as much as Midori but she is... And then, I'm going to be a killjoy, but Miho and Midori force themselves a bit at times... it feels quite artificial... I much prefer Miyako who stays focused (yes... we don't run through the scene making grimaces or forced smiles) because her parts are quite technical!

Same song “Winner”, but more band less fans ruclips.net/video/NxlIIFTsmg4/видео.html
@@timgove5337 Heart attack inducing music - always felt a little sorry for the two dancers, they must lose 10lbs at very show. Even in their last live stream Angelina did the same jogging near the end of the show.
That is fun rocking song. Ladies introduce in manner very electrifying. That is Midori (guitar) and Miho (bass) show off but all girls, Asami vocal, Miyako guitar and Haruna drums are top notch as well. Nice reaction.
Thank you, and thank you for checking out the video!
Even in these videos from their video concert, you can find moments where Miyako was filmed in those moments when you can see how she drops her shoulders or the guitar or plays the guitar intensively, follows a complex melody with head movements, swimming after the main line of the composition (for example, on video "We the United")
Thank you, and thank you for checking out the video!
I was expecting you to say a lot of us Raised Some Hell with you. lol
a little tips, there are 3 female groups(Japan) that are great for your content and viewers.
they are Lovebites, Band Maid and Babymetal.
But it depends on you :)
Thank you, and thank you for checking out the video!
You forget Aldious
Thank you for all the info!
Love this band and this is my favorite song of theirs! Thank you for reacting to this video.
Thank you for giving Lovebites some more of your time 🤘
Next one 《swan song》please
Thank you!
Midori went to a college of music and became a fantastic guitarist. She was in a not very popular pop rock trio before she was invited by Miho to join Lovebites. So yes she has the pop rock star attributes and am very comfortable interacting with the audience.
This song sounds like Steel Dragon. I forget the guys name who wrote the music for them, he was a hair metal guy and wrote music for a few bands they could have listened to.
good reaction and review as always, don't forget another great song "break the wall" and "shadowmaker" from the same concert
Break the wall : thrash metal
Shadowmaker : power metal

i was wondering what band this guys played for ? I wanna compare his bands to lovebites ? i love it when people criticized others but yet they cannot produce the same result.
maybe jealousy ? lol
Miyako was joking "I'm just a cool beauty on stage"💕☺
Thanks for still want reaction to this band.🙏
in every song performance, they have their own style. sometimes silence and concentration, and sometimes dancing around the stage.
Thank you, and thank you for checking out the video as always Hiu!
Dope reaction by the way can u check out (Band-maid freedom from Feb 14 2020) or (Domination Feb 14 2020) it's a Japanese hard rock band
I deff will it's been a huge ask!
On stage, Miyako is a stone faced killer... But check out her RUclips channel. Watch her unbox her new Dean. Big ole smile.
if you want to see something rare from the Japanese take a look at Lovebite's "Journey to the Otherside", that is Miho's (bass) song about her father, then you will see a lot different about this band! good reaction!
Thank you!
Don't worry I'll be checking out more music by them!
Speaking about 'smile and show the fun to play', some cultural matters would be taken into consideration IMO. For example, I can't imagine a smiling Russian metal band lol
You got me there.. Russians always getting a bad rap
The sad news is Miho (bass) leaves Lovebites.
Midori is awesome. I agree, this is such a fun song. I regularly scare the crap out of my cat singing along to it, lol.
midori is alot of peoples favorites however miyako the black haired guitarist is probably the best female guitarist in all of japan and not to mention she is a musical genius and a piano prodogy which she has been playing for like 27 yrs and guitar only 12 yrs please let me know what you think
Miho Miho Miho!
Check out Winds of Transylvania
son mortales
on another reaction video, someone who seemed fairly knowledgeable suggested that there had been some sort of casting recently... because if you take the trouble to look at other older Lovebites concerts, Miyako is very present on stage! maybe not as much as Midori but she is... And then, I'm going to be a killjoy, but Miho and Midori force themselves a bit at times... it feels quite artificial... I much prefer Miyako who stays focused (yes... we don't run through the scene making grimaces or forced smiles) because her parts are quite technical!
