- The MasterShots feature lets you effortlessly create fantastic aerial videos in only a few minutes. If you only have a few minutes to fly, but still want to capture good videos, then the MasterShots feature comes in handy. You can film MasterShots in both landscape and portrait.
✔️ The MasterShots function is available on DJI Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mini 4 Pro, DJI Air 3, DJI Air 3S, DJI Flip and drones in the Mavic series.
❗ Note: If you want to use one of the templates to add music and effects, you will need to download the DJI Fly App to your phone. It's not possible to edit MasterShots on the RC, RC2 or RC Pro.

first time seeing drone shots with british indie music. fantastic! 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 😀
Great reminder - I had forgotten about it! Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video, clear precise instructions on how to perform the actions, so many other youtubers whiz through without actually showing what to do for us beginners, well worth subscribing.
Thank you, that means a lot!
Informative video 👍
Thanks 🙂
Thanks for posting! Always a pleasure to be reminded about that function.
Thank you!
Excellent detailed information & easy to understand. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
That was brilliant, thanks.😊
Thank for watching!
Excellent video. Thank you!
Thanks!
This is really useful, thank you. I've had my Mini 4 Pro for a while now but not really got to grips with it due to lack of time to practise and I didn't even know this function existed. New sub here!
Thank you!
Groovy
Great tutorial as always :)
Thanks again!
Question about the height. What does Smal Medium and Large actual mean? Which height for example to avoid obstacles like trees?
There’s no set height for each of the modes as far as I’m aware, because the drone most likely calculates a maximum height based on the selected object. If you start the Mastershot just above the tree-line you should be fine in avoiding them.
Very nice! If I don't want to edit it in the Fly app, does it stitch the master shots together like it does in Hyperlapse, so I can download it to my editing software and select my own music? Just read the show notes and found you cannot edit on the RC2, so I'm assuming that I can retrieve the master shot from my SD card and edit it in my own software.
The drone actually records a video the entire time it films the MasterShot, and saves it to the SD card. You can either use this raw footage and edit it elsewhere, or download the DJI Fly App and edit it there.
Thanks. I’ve learned a bit here. Length of master shot for example and track being shown: never seen that before. Was that a recent software update?
maybe an advice that be careful with using mastershots near obstacles that are higher than the drone :) especially mini 3 pro (no side sensors)
Yeah, good advice. I might do a test to see how the Mastershots function behaves near obstacles sometime.
Do it @@takeoffdrones
Something I’ve worried about. So I make sure I’m way up above any possible obstacle.
Does the mini 4 pro not detect them and flies around them when the settings is active? I’m a bit afraid of “trying”
@@victoriakoch1613 the Mini 4 Pro would avoid any obstacles and adapt the MasterShots path as needed.
Are you able to edit the path prior? Say at 0.27 the building is within the mountain, the mastershot is going in a circle, it will crash eventually.
I don’t think you can edit the path itself, but you can change the width, length and height. In my case, the drone didn’t actually fly a full circle around the building (you can also see this on the route map at 2:11). It is however important to be aware of the route it’s going to take so you don’t crash. Thanks
I wouldn’t of picked that music
I thought it included the Asteroid ?
Asteroid is a QuickShot! You can find the video on QuickShots on my channel if you like!
Appears to be over exposed
The DJI editor also sometimes applies a filter to enhance the video slightly, so it may seem more bright than usual. You can of course change the brightness/saturation/contrast after exporting. Thanks 👍
I don’t use mastershots because you can only shoot in 30 fps
With the Mini 4 Pro you can also select 60fps, 1080P or 4K for slow motion as well.
"Watch" bro this vid has 1.2k views bruh 💀
