Ooo, yeah when I first saw the added screws/hotshoe adapters and the Ulanzi phone holder that has the arca plate as it's bottom that goes into the ball head... I was amazed at how ingenious yet handy it is!
Me too! I love these ball heads! They are very well designed, I'm really amazed at Ulanzi, they're migrating from being a cheap phone videography company to a really high quality filmmakers company. I can see a bright future for them, and I stand by them as I love the quality of their products, also, great people!
Hi Phillip, great video! Is it possible to remove the quick release plate and the whole mechanism from the ball, so that it's just the ball joint and the screw? I'm mostly wondering for the U-80L model.
the u-80L has a scalloped ball locking knob, the other one has a mat finish, plain metal knob; this looks like the only difference I can see from the video (perhaps the new designation was because of an upgrade to this feature).
Hi: Great video. Some of your links go to "pages not found". So my question is just to be sure is what is the model # of the nice ball head with the large red ball to your furthest left or as I am watching the video to my rightmost ?
Great video, did you do the next Ulanzi video with the Peak Design like quick releases? could not find it. If it is still to come it would be nice to know if the sliding locking pins are all metal like peak designs or part plastic like some other knockoffs. I am going to get one of the bigger Ulanzi ball heads as the hot shoe mount looks very handy
Hi Mark, actually I still haven't got round to that, they're sitting on my shelf looking at me everyday. I will do it, I just have a few videos I need to get out before that. The Ulanzi ones are very, very well made, maybe not as slick as the PD, but solid as a rock. The bigger Ulanzi ball heads are fantastic, I use them all the time in my studio on my sliders.
I ordered the f38 quick release system for dji rsc2 yesterday , it is on its way, but I thought the arca swiss plate would be compatible with my peak design capture v3 :-(
hello philip, i loved this video. i'm currently looking for a better ball head for my joby telepod pro which i use for my zv1. would you reccomend the smallest ball head (i would use a ulanzi falcam quick release plate on it) or get the slightly bigger ball head that has the arca swiss
Thanks Wendy! I have to be honest, each one of these is super solid, and they don't budge when you try to move them, so I'm very impressed by the build quality Ulanzi has brought to the table here. The small one is great, but sure the slightly larger one with Arca Swiss will be more flexible.
Being an astrophotographer I can attest to importance of solid high quality mount and importance to capture great images. ADM Accessories out of NY was a great shop offering incredible mounts for my telescope hardware, they even offered many custom options. Seems like there are many great tripod adapter hardware designs available these days. Good video. Do you have any experience with any tripod camera mounting systems which use software follow mode(tracking drive) or perhaps hardware rail and camera setup for good value for $ spent, optical zoom would be nice added feature. I have seen a few sub $500 us dollars that look attractive, they look like mini telescope fork mount with onboard camera included. Been wanting something like this for some time now. Love the pronunciation of aluminum. Al ugh min ium Nice. Thanks.
An astrophotographer. I've always dreamt of doing that. No, I'm afraid I haven't seen anything like that, you mean a star tracker system? Looking up at the stars really relaxes me, I think more than the sea. I would love a lens I could use to take photos of the stars or even moon, something I can get really close and see the craters. My accent is a little mixed up I'm afraid, so I do a lot of odd pronunciation 🙈
Not really expensive I have the same Manfrotto from an older tripod and I was amazed when I googled it's price. It's nothing spectacular! Brands like Ulanzi best it outright and have far better value!
@@PhillipSkraba I live in india so like if it's 20$ for us it's like 50$,so for u to get them for free is like a golden nugget to me, without having any shame I'm going to ask u,if u have any accessories that u think are useless or u don't want I'll happily take that😂
I think what you’re really asking me is how to be a RUclipsr 😂 It’s a ton of hard work. Start a channel, do reviews and you’ll get tonnes of golden nuggets 🍗
@@organic80 No, I'm afraid not. I mainly used Manfrotto all my life until Ulanzi sent me these and I'm very impressed. I've seen and used bad balls heads in my life, that's why I always stuck to Manfrotto. A ball head is something you need to trust with your life 😂

What a great detailed synopsis thank you. I think i will get the Ulanzi Pano Head for its versatility

You convinced me. Subbed. Thanks for the video sir!

It's a real nice one!
@@PhillipSkraba
Yes, I just bought one today. :D
You’ll love it!
Hi.... If i only have budget to buy one... Which one better... U80 (swizz arca) or U100 while i am having ST-14 phone holder
Soo does Claw Quick Release II (with Arca swiss) match with peak design? or just this model with standard one mount?
Hello. Does the plate of U70 ballhead fit into the f38 system? I might have missed it. Thank you
Thanks for the info on U 60
You're welcome!
They look cool
They are really very very nice!
Thanks for a really useful review.
You're welcome!
Is it possible to remove the ball head from them and fit a similar sized ball head in them?
Thanks for your great review, I have question - can disassemble cold shoe from the side of ball-head?
It has a screw, so in theory yes, you can twist it around a lot.
@@PhillipSkraba Thank you so much, so fast answer ^___^

Thumbs Up, good review look forward to checking out the quick release backpacks ones.
Thank You! I'll be doing that one soon, all three are actually excellent but have different styles.
Can we use only the ball head on u100( remove quick release completely) and replaced with falcam f38 instead?
Oh gosh, I’m not sure about that, I haven’t tried. Drop Ulanzi an email, I’m sure they’ll know.

They are minimally different, it's really odd. Maybe some kind of alterations will be needed...

@@PhillipSkraba dobra robota 👌
Dziekuje!
What's the underneath of them like 1/4 female screw?
That’s correct.
Can I use my joby plate to the Ulanzi U-60?
The Ulanzi U-60 is a Swiss Arca type, so if you Joby plate is also a Swiss Arca, you should be good to go!
Missed to mention the Hummingbird ball head !!!!
Hey, great review! I've got a question: can you put Falcam base into U-70 so it would become quick release-able?

They are expensive men..but verry good. Nice video again Philip. Greetings from Richard

Yep, the price for the quality of product is insanely good!
You should have said I have many ball heads and a bald head! Ha ha
I have like 1cm of hair right now, I need to take 10 minutes to get a shave 😂🙈
Good video but I didn't care for your camera settings (aperture specifically).
Thank You, glad you liked it.
