they're both essentially the same people in that it doesn't matter that they're different--they're just who they are, just like us, yet they still receive reactions and reception of all types--praise, disdain, objectification, desire, indifference. there's nothing wrong or right about either of them. what we see in them is what we see of ourselves and each other.

i think the girls embody two different extremes - the girl in white being pure and submissive, while the girl in red is the supposed to be more promiscuous. i think that the girl in white singing along to the chorus and maintaining eye contact represents her trait of constant submission. but hey, that's just my thoughts.

I think the curse is that You must play a role to be acknowledge. And all the focus on the girl in red in the comments is prooving my theory.
The roles being the Madonna/Whore complex. Both are this idea that a woman is either a Madonna- a virginal, woman in white, innocent, or a whore- a seductive, woman in red, slutty. According to the media and segments of society, these are the only roles woman can be defined as without middle ground.

I just realize that the two girls on the roller coaster represents the opposite expectations of women. The roller coaster represents life/reality.
Both girls are selected contrast (except that they are both very nice). Blonde controlled and focused, brunette who wants to have fun.
i think the girls represent the opposite extremes of life, neither of them will be considered perfect, just trying to survive somewhere in the middle.
