- A playthrough of Sony Imagesoft's 1994 game show game for Windows 3.1, Wheel of Fortune.
This is a somewhat uncommon version of the PC game, but it's by far my favorite of the old ones. I only recently found out that it was actually developed alongside the Sega CD version. That certainly explains the similarities between the two versions in their presentations. This one is quite a bit less gaudy and more reserved, but it certainly trumps the Sega CD version with much cleaner video, better sound, and by far it's best inclusion - the blue-screen actors. This is hilarious! They have all sorts of random emoting clips based on how they do, and they all tell you a bit about themselves in some of the hammiest acting ever seen at the beginning. I couldn't help the sarcasm in naming the computer players - it was just way too easy.
This took forever to get running. On both Dosbox and my old Pentium PC, the Quicktime installation had gotten screwed up (sound familiar to anyone trying to play nearly ANY game on Win 3.1 in the early/mid 90s?) and wasn't being reasonable in trying to work despite my best attempts, so on both I ended up blowing away the entire Windows installation and starting again from scratch, with the version of Quicktime that the game shipped with. Oddly enough, that fixed it for Dosbox. My poor Pentium 200 with 3.11 installed... no such luck. So, maybe Dosbox is more accomodating to the horrible glitchy quirks of early Windows gaming than real hardware, but either way... if you want to play this, I'd absolutely recommend a clean install of Win 3.1 inside of Dosbox. It plays flawlessly, if you're lucky enough to not have anything get corrupted by looking at it the wrong way.
If you'd like to see it's console cousin, check out Wheel of Fortune for the Sega CD here: • Wheel of Fortune (Sega...

"I'm Fred French. I'm a telephone technician in The Bronx. Hi." Best contestant intro ever.
I repeat it to this day.
Oh gosh, I remember I had all the player introductions memorized.
I'm always uncertain with these old CD ROM games of whether they actually existed or they were just some weird dream I had as a child. What beautifully weird things people created back then.
Why weird things
What a familiar feeling! Well, then games and software were really art of good quality and beauty. Unlike today's crappy bloatware.
I never saw this before, but is really entertaining to watch!
I played this game a lot when I was a child. Good memories! And I loved how Vanna single-handedly hosted the show (even more so on the Hasbro releases).
Me too. But where's Pat Sajak?
ZEPHYR!!! My siblings and I used to quote her intro because we grew up near Greensboro.
Ive thought of the following line every date for the past 25 years...."My name's Ed Johnson, I'm a sergeant with the Miami Police Department, and I'm here to win some money."
Lmao that hilarious and more than a bit disturbing
The actors in this rival the disembodied Mario head in Mario Teaches Typing 2 for sheer WTFness. They are by far the best part of this PC counterpart to the awesome Sega CD Wheel of Fortune.
The nostalgia this just unlocked
I remember playing this as a kid and thinking "Charlie Northrup" looked and sounded a bit like Chuck Woolery.
Thanks for posting. I found an old copy I had of this game that me and my family had when we were younger and I tried to play it on my computer, but it wasn't compatible with this PC. I was hoping that would bring back some memories, but I'm glad we have this. Plus I have another version of WOF for my PC, one for my N64, one for my DS and I got one for my Switch for Christmas, so I guess I can't complain.
Does anybody know the name of the wheel of fortune type game that was on pc in early 90s but it wasn't called wheel of fortune???

Fred French looked like he was in this game at gunpoint.
We used to have this game so much much fun!
OMG This brings back many memories!!
Believe it or not, I'm still playing the Sega CD version of Wheel Of Fortune on a weekly basis! It's one of my most favorite video games. I play it as a rom on devices such as the Steam Deck, ANBERNIC and PowKiddy handhelds. I just found out yesterday that this 1994 PC games version exists and immediately saw the similarities to the Sega CD version. I plan to purchase that PC version sometime this week. These are the better versions of Wheel Of Fortune because they have the most realistic layout.
It's quite strange to NOT see Pat Sajak hosting the video game version of "Wheel Of Fortune".
Based on The Hit TV Game Show From Fremantle™ & Sony Pictures Television Studios™
Ahhh yes, cheesy 1994 era multimedia “FMV”. This was one of those games (along with Doom and the 7th Guest) you pulled out to show off your new Pentium 90, with its 16MB of RAM, gigantic 1GB HDD, Diamond Stealth64 and double-speed CDROM.
1:32 almost sounded like a text to speech program.
Maybe Dr. Sbaitso is trying some role-play
My name is Zephyr Bardough, I'm a dance instructor in Boise Idaho. Would have been funny.
I've never seen this game of WHEEL Of FORTUNE 1994 Before.
That $5000 was an amazing spin. Also, did anyone happen to catch the male voice that follows Zephyr's intro?
Lol yeah, it sounded like he said And? Like he was feeding her lines
@@NintendoComplete I believe it might've been a director about to say "and cut!"
@@segamaniac101 That would make a great deal of sense. Good call. 👍
@@NintendoComplete I'm disappointed that you didn't go for the "S" on that Final Spin puzzle.
bell out@@Tubewings
And you can actually play this Wheel game on XP, BTW.
Wow vanna.❤️
"Slow opponent" 🤣🤣🤣
My name's Cletus.. Im from Greenwood, Mississippi.. and I raise possums for eatin'
I have wheel of fortune on 1998 PC about 6 years ago in 2019 I have wheel of fortune on ps2 wheel of fortune 2nd edition on ps1 and wheel of fortune on ps4
Is there anywhere where i can play the game that doesn't have any bugs.
Names of the actors playing contestants please.

It's not right without Pat Sajak.
I don't think Pat Sajak was in any of the Wheel of Fortune games ... but I may be wrong.
@JazzyUte
Pat Sajak did not appear in ANY of the "Wheel" video games UNTIL 2010 with the Nintendo Wii & DS games, followed by the Nintendo Wii U, PS3 & Xbox 360 games in 2012
What windows operating system are you using? How did you get it to work? Do you think this game would work on WIndows 10?
+Thomas Perkins It won't run on modern Windows. You have to use Windows 3.1 or 95. I installed 3.1 through the emulator Dosbox, and then loaded the game through that. It's by far the easiest way to run such an old os on modern hardware.
+NintendoComplete Can you install the emulator on a modern pc like Windows 10??
+Thomas Perkins Yeah, I have it running on win10 x64 atm just fine.
@@NintendoComplete It can run on XP, too.
The Sega CD version AND the 1998 PC game is way better than this. They could've at least included the puzzle-solved cue when the puzzles are solved
Fred french. lmao
Are these people using their real names and occupations? That's what I've always wondered. It would be cool to see a where are they now segment and what their thoughts are on participating in this game. I always felt like their voices matched their occupations haha. P.S. Pretty sure these are all aliases.
I'm betting they're just actors for this game. The way "Fred" and "Virginia" introduce themselves look fake as hell.
No, those aren't their real names. The same actors appeared in the Jeopardy game under different names.
Why without Pat Sajak?
I never seen this game of wheel of fortune 1994 before it’s so easy that my 🧔🏻♂️ and 👩🏻 love it.❤️
have you done wheel of fortune for the ps2? if not could you?
I haven't, but I'm sure I will at some point here soon :)
thanks so much :)
I want to make a hack of the game using the 1975-81 game board of Wheel of Fortune!
Way too slow......
